Somewhere.
Hey guys! First time buying my vape. I have done a bit of research. Most youtube reviews seems quite positive on both of these. Would like to hear some opinions.

Personally speaking, I quite like the Snow Wolf 200W Plus but I've read that the original had problems.

What do you guys think? Snow Wolf 200W Plus or smok alien Kit? Why?

Thanks everyone

Welcome to the world of vaping!

I own a Alien and i´m super happy with it. It´s a excellent mod on wich you can stick both a TFV8 (the big tank, was the biggest one up until recently when they released the TFV12) as well as the much smaller Baby Beast. You chill-vape at 60 watts and have good battery time or you stick a larger tank on there and go cloud chasin´. However, i wouldnt recommend a 220watt mod as your first. Aim for something a bit smaller, maybe with a built in battery so you can get the feel of vaping and figure out what´s good for you without having to fiddle with 18650´s. Something like the SMOK R80 or a Vaporesso Tarot Nano. They have good battery Life and a 80 watt range wich will get you pretty hefty Clouds and awesome flavor aswell as giving you an opportunity to find your preferences.

As for the Snow Wolf i can´t really say much cuz i haven´t used one myself. But that my two cents.

TL;DR Get a smaller mod to begin with and find out what you like. Cuz Believe me, if you get hooked on vaping, you´ll be owning a minimum of 10 mods in no time ;)

imho, go for the Alien. I have the (dis)pleasure of owning the original 200w Snow Wolf and it became my least use of them all. I like the form factor, the boxy look but the chip inside ain't worth it. First of all it only do TC on Ni200 wire. And the part I hate was it would, from time to time, jump from regular wattage mode to tc mode and back. Oh, no, you can't adjust, it will do so automatically. Now, I'm not sure if they fix this issue on the new model. But one is enough for me.
Alien, on the other hand, I have no complain whatsoever. It comes with all necessary function that will last for a long while. Plus it looks really nice too. Feels just right un my hand.
Hope it helps and welcome to the fun world of vaping.

Welcome @mynameiscosine and I hope you enjoy your stay!

I do not own a Snow Wolf but I would not say NO to owning one! I have the Alien and I love this Box. Solid feel and comfortable fit in your hand with plenty of power and I have had no issues with anything. I wish they made coils for TC mode for the Baby Beast that came with it but wonderful cloud production at 30 Watts in power mode.

I know nothing about the Snow Wolf, so take this for what it is worth.

The big plus for me with the Alien is the fire bar rather then a button. And with the kit, the baby beast is a really nice tank.

If you are liking the size of the snow wolf (btw, size does not necessarily relate to "lasting longer"), you might take a look at the Smok G-Priv 220. More size and weight, the fire bar, and a really nice touch screen with an easy to navigate menu. And the Big Baby tank that comes with that kit is great.

Welcome and good luck! :vapor:

Welcome to ecf :headbang:. Before you buy any mod that has replaceable batteries please make sure you know battery safety. I have two links in my signature; one explains all the basics of the batteries we use and the dangers of them. The other has a list of all the safe batteries to use. Battery safety is very important and only takes a few minutes to learn. Have fun!

Can't comment on the Snow Wolf but use an Alien as my daily Mod.

It's brilliant. I can't fault it. Never once had an issue (I have heard a couple have had issues with the finish as paint can flake off but mine hasn't had an easy life and there isn't a mark on it).

I really can't say much as it just does everything great with no real drawbacks.

I'm another one who hasn't had any paint issues. I'm quite pleased with it. Nice small size for 2 battery setup. Just ignore that 220W, ~120W with 2 20A batteries is a pretty reasonable wattage to use.
Same here. My paint is almost perfect after well over a month of heavy daily use. A couple of dings and scratches due to getting banged around, but the finish seems great.

I am currently vaping at 140w with a CB and a V10 coil and it is great. I wouldn't go over 160w though and normally I am at 110-120 with v4 or v8 coils.

I like the Alien more than my more expensive G-Priv. Around 8000 puffs on the counter and it is running as new.

I DO have an original Snow Wolf 200 and it has worked perfectly for almost a year and a half. Just too big, bulky and heavy. Reminds me of the G-Priv. The Alien is just a perfect size IMO.
