Here is the story, I love my altoids mod from smartvapes (2x 18650), but I don't think they sell them anymore and mine is in very rough shape (2+years). I would like to make a new one, but have no clue about which board to use to run it. It needs to be pretty small, and I would like it efficient (similar to what I have now) but am clueless on what to buy. I have made a couple mods before, but typically just used a VV board from madvapes. My altoids mod gets almost twice the run time as my own mods, so I would like something similar (or better) to build a new one.

If there have been recent threads about the same subject, please just point me in the right direction. I didn't have much luck searching.

The newest and latest is a DNA30. The bad thing for me is once I got a DNA device everything else I own is useless. There are several threads on building a DNA20 or 30 in the forum.

Looks nice, but I paid $50 for my first altoids mod complete. I was hoping to be half that when building my own. I will look in to it though.

Don't most of the altoid mods use the okr t10?

I will look in to that too, I can't see the chip on mine since it is covered up.

Thanks
Brew

I know this is probably a dumb question, but how efficient is that dx board? My biggest priorities are the size, and how long the batteries last.

Honestly, I never get over about 5v and 8 watts or so, so I don't need anything monster for specs. for the price, I might grab a couple of the DX ones to try, but still open to suggestions. I don't really need anything boost, since it will be a dual 18650 type mod. Anything smaller just doesn't last for me.

poland, and the brassy lands of google
The 8100 and the OKR-t are quite comparable and likely designed to compete for the same application. The size, pinout and specs are nearly the same. They come in 3, 6 & 10A variants and both are significantly smaller than the above DX board. Without documentation for the DX board the 96% efficiency is for a combination not useful to vaping, and probably is in the 80-85% for our needs, hopefully.
