So, here is the deal. As of right now, I have been tobacco free for exactly 23 days. Next month I am going on vacation with my family to NYC. I know that my two Innokin vv V3 batteries will not last throughout an entire day. Additionally, on a normal day, I suck down about 4-6 ml's of e-liquid through a mini protank 2 tank. I am terrified of my batteries going dead or running out of e-liquid in the streets of Manhattan and not having any way to get my fix.

My plan is to get an Innokin MVP and a 5 ml hypertank. I am thinking that this setup should get me through the days of vacation. I am a bit concerned over the size of the hypertank hanging off the edge of the MVP, but this seems to be the most reasonable. I doubt that I will use either of these items once I return from vacation, so I want to keep the cost as cheap as possible.

Do any of you have any better ideas?

Thanks

You can use a smaller tank and bring a second tank along as a spare should you need it. Carry the spare in a zippered battery case like this one from RTD Vapor.

Why not just add a 1100mah ego to the mix and bring your juice bottle with you. Certainly the two v3's and an 1100 ego will get you through the day and you can refill the tank you have now just about anywhere in seconds.

The idea is not a carry around a bunch of stuff and not having to charge multiple batteries. I had considered this. I have two evod style units sitting and collecting dust. I could pull them out and end up carrying a total of four with me all day. I decided that this would not be practical. My thought was that it would be best to keep to one unit.

This pic shows a 1300 mAh Vision spinner next to a 2200 mAh ego...both have an Aspire Nova-S BDC Pyrex (3.5 ml) on top

The one on the right (2200) is the setup I run most days...in fact I carry two... one with straight unflavored in one pocket of my jeans and one with my homebrewed menthol in another pocket.

If the two of those can't get me through a day then something's wrong somewhere!

There are some great 1300mAh "fatties" which are actually a lot shorter than a 1100mAh, half between a twist and a 650mAh. 2 of these WILL last you a full day and the grip is better since the bigger diameter. Buy three so you have a backup.

Recently, I've been hearing about an even shorter, fatter 1500mAh eGo battery, but can't say if they're good or not since our local shops don't sell them yet.

    I went to Manhattan for the first time 2 years ago, a month after I started vaping: Unforgettable.

    I feel, unless you get something like a CoolFire 1 and a plastic case of 18350's, the MVP2 would be brilliant.

    As far as toppers go, I only had cartos and cartridge/attys at the time.
    A 5ml clearo might be huge, it might be easier to get a regular sized clearo and carry a small bottle. If your'e not going alone, I'm sure someone will be wearing a backpack or have a purse.

    My very first foray into vaping was buying the starter kit & jumping into the van for a road trip into Manhattan!

    And I share your concern, especially since I've been caught in 'town' with dead & dying cellphone batteries... more than once. (Yup, slow-learner!)

    For my up-coming trip back to NYC, my plan for a day-pack is: my MVP 2 & vv3 fraternal twins, combined with 2-3 tanks, and a small reserve bottle of juice for my protank 2 mini. (don't forget the USB charging cable too).

    This package gives all-day battery (plus backup), enough juice even in the highest of consumption circumstance, multiple flavors (which I insist on!), and even a backup option should my cellphone battery need a charge.

    And just for good measure, here's at least one vape store I've bookmarked that's down in the Village area: Blog : Beyond Vape, premium vaporizers and e-cigarettes

    I'm keeping an eye out for other stores up in the 120's & east side (to cover both parts of the island I spend time in)

    Sidebar: In case you're flying, I suggest put all your vape supplies in your carry on. TSA doesn't give a rip about e-cig stuff, and you might even stealth one like my wife's 'other-half' did recently (not naming names) ;)

    Safe travels!

    The MVP is outstanding, and a worthy investment no matter how far you go into Vape-land.

    When I started on pro tanks I had the same fear, and bought the hypertank-and I used it once, and shelved it. My experience was that with pro tank coils, the juice will eventually cook (which darkens the liquid in the tank) and leak back into the tank contaminating the rest of the liquid, which is not a problem for regular/mini pro tanks, since the liquid volume isn't large enough to get very contaminated by the time its emptied, but the hypertank was. YMMV based on your liquid, and the coil, but I would recommend you grab another protank mini if that is what you are happy with, rather than the hypertank.

    Good Luck!!

    EDIT: by the time I was halfway through the tank, the liquid was completely contaminated, and unvapeable

    I have already ordered the MVP. That still seems like the obvious choice for performance and price. I had never seen the U-Can before, that also looks like it will do the job. So my vacation setup will be an itaste MVP V2, my current Mini Protank 2, and an Innokin U-Can. If something happens to any of these, I should have no problem getting replacements in NYC.

    Thanks for the help.

    I can't say enough nice things about my Aspire Nautilus. It's a 5ml tank, with adjustable airflow. It also comes with a thread cover (or skit, or beauty ring, I've head a few names). The cover is sized specifically to the Nautilus' width. It's a bit pricey ($35 I think), but it comes with the cover, and a backup coil. I got the glass one, but now there is stainless steel one (don't know if it is priced differently).

    Downsides - The glass can break obviously (though you can buy just that glass park too instead of a whole new one), and the stainless steel doesn't have that issue, but it isn't clear (duh). So you trade knowing how much juice is left for more sturdiness

    What is the problem? Are you going to be riding a bike or something?
    All you need is a usb port to recharge.
    4 miniprotanks, a bottle of juice and the 2 v3's will fit in one of those starter kit cases;
    If you're going to be in a car alot, maybe what you need is one of these

    Or maybe its a wallwart you need;

    New York City is not a city where visitors drive from one place to another. Typical transportation is via bus, subway, and walking. We will probably hitting the streets at 8am and returning around 10pm daily. I typically vape 4.5 ml of fluid per day. Additionally, as a very recent tobacco quitter, I am paranoid of running out of juice or being stuck with dead batteries. I could probably get by with another itaste vv, but why chance it? I KNOW that 10 ml of e-liquid plus the MVP will get me through each day of exploring NYC. Maybe my paranoia is causing me to worry too much, but I feel better knowing that I am 100% prepared. The $58 I spent on the itaste MVP and the U-can is money well spent in my opinion.
