Right now I'm using a Bogger BF, a Trixie VV mod, a smok VV Gripper and a Vmod as my main APV devices. I'm happy with them...the BFs are mechanical and are doing fine. I love the Trixie and find it very reliable. Same can be said of the VV Gripper...except, of course, I worry about the body/wiring holding up. I think I'd like one more VV or VV/VW device.

While I prefer the box mod form (as you can surmise by my main vape gear atm) I am not totally opposed to the tube style so long as it's not some honking long thing that looks like a piece of plumbing. Been there, done that, moved on...not interested in huge. I have the mini eGo T mod (for 18350) and for a tube mod, it fits my hand well and I don't feel uncomfortable using it. Soooooo.......

I've looked at the Provari Mini. Yes..I like and am oh-so-yearning. But it's simply NOT in the cards for me now...it's simply too much to ask of hubby (maybe I can work it out later). I need to stay under $100. Less (much less if possible) would be even better. I'm needing mostly a VV-VV/VW that is an alternative/backup...not a major investment. ANY way, things being as they are (and there's no changing it right now) what I'm looking at is either the Zmax mini or the iTaste MVP 2. I will likely mostly be using carto tanks on whatever I get.

Which would be the better/best choice, do you think? What bothers me about the MVP 2 is the built in battery. Even at 2600 mAh I worry. I can run through a 2000 mAh 18650 battery on my mechs in 6 to 8 hours. While the 18350 in the Zmax is obviously going to have an even shorter life...I have a PILE of suitable batteries and so it'd be easy to just switch out. With the MVP...I gotta plug it in. But I DO like the box form. Can anyone help me out making a decision here?

You might also consider the VW iTaste V3. It's smaller than a Twist, is variable watt and has an 800 mAh battery so you will get 6 - 8 hours on a charge. It is square, so won't roll off a flat surface but not box sized. And it's on sale:

Innokin iTaste VV ( V3.0) Variable Voltage and Variable Wattage Express Kit

Thanks...but that's getting back to the eGo size thing again....and the non-replaceable battery. I LIKE the box shape of the MVP 2, but the built in (non changeable) battery makes we worry. If I think a 2600 mAh battery is going to be a bit short lived for me...certainly a 800 mAh one isn't going to work! Appreciate the suggestion, though.

I have been mostly into mods or APVs...devices where instead of having a built in battery, you change out rechargeable batteries. I'd entertain the MVP 2 as an exception if the performance was significantly excellent, however. I'm also curious if the Zmax mini is a good qualtiy (changeable batteries!) and if the one button menu is a super pain...and how durable it is.

I received my MVP V2 in the mail exactly 10 hours ago, and have been heavy vaping since I opened the box. The battery meter has literally only moved from "4.1" to "4.0" :D This is using a dual coil clearo with the watts set to 8.5. My Puff Counter reads just shy of 400. I can't imagine it's even possible to burn through this battery in the course of a day, but it's also pass thru capable while charging.

Hope this helps :vapor:

I have a regular ZMax and it's worked flawlessly for well over a year now. I would imagine that the mini version is just as well made if not better. The only thing that I don't like about mine is that the base of the end cap isn't totally flat which makes it kind of wobbly when you try to stand it up. That problem may have been corrected in the last year. I'm not sure. Also, it appears that Sigelei is making or releasing a mini as well which probably has a better display. They both come in an assortment of colors too! Don't be scared off by the Vamo V3's size. You can use it in 18350 mode by removing a section and it's comparable in size to the ZMax. Just a thought....BTW...I just ordered a ProVari Mini and I can't wait to try it out. It was a major decision to spend that much money but I tried to justify by the amount of $$$ I've saved by not buying analogs! Good luck....

Well...I ended up getting a SID control head for now. I already have several eGo T Mod and Evic tubes in different sizes and colors (I'll be mostly using the 18350 sized ones). Since they are interchangeable, it seemed to make good sense to test the waters a bit first, not to mention utilizing stuff I already had. I'm still thinking about the Zmax mini, and think I may still get one. Haven't ruled out the MVP 2, but am concerned about the height with it when a 6 ml tank is sitting on top. I really was aiming for a more diminutive size/height. The SID has gotten some good reviews...I'm hopeful I'll like it!
