Thanks for the heads up. Just pre-ordered the stainless steel version in blue. I heard the original was good, but the build quality made it the kind of mod that you didn't want to drop. I probably don't have to worry about that now though. I have a feeling it's going to be kind of like the back of the classic ipods though; super shiny brand new when you get it but a complete scratch magnet so a month later you get your own personalized design of scratches.

I see they are $10 higher but are the colored Groove's actually metal or just colored plastic?

The colored ones are stainless steel as well.

I've dropped my plastic Groove several times onto hardwood floor without any damage. It is the same floor that broke my SS ZMax and my SS Vamo.

I need something for sure. I'm an old man so I just blame it on that! I have a Groove, TMax and Vamo so they should last me awhile.
