I just got my order of 2 Cisco LR306 attys and I tried them on my grand and it tasts so burnt that I couldnt stop coughing. I tried squonking, dripping and flooding the atty with juice and letting it sit there for 10 minutes to soak in the juice, still no go. It tasts like the coil is 100% dry and the filler is burning on every hit. Am I missing something?

Give them more juice! If you have a clear drip tip you will see juice right at the top of the atty when wet enough. It will raise up above the atty when you draw on it. More juice! A little at a time while drawing lightly on the atty. I use 100% VG juice, no problem with being too thick!

I am curious what the fix is for you. I've never used an atomizer before and I ordered a couple 1.8 Ohm cisco 306's from avid that should be here tomorrow (I hope). I just hope I am not too much of a noob to use them well. I am sure I will get the hang of it, just not sure how quickly... maybe they will be better than cartos for me. I sure hope so! Good luck sir, let us know if you find a fix. Don't get discouraged.

This is exactly why I ordered the clear drip tip with mine, gotta see that juice. I am a very visual learner.

Ok. One is defective so I need to contact avid to see about a replacement. The other I dripped more juice and let it soak for another 10 minutes and it started working fine. So I'm good to go. Thanks.

Just make sure to give it enough juice and let it soak for 10-15 minutes the first time you use them. If they taste burnt still give it another 3 drops and let it sitsome more. Your Reo will catch the juice in the cup if it leaks so don't worry about flooding it.

Seemed like about half the time, I'd have to de-wick my 306's to get rid of the nasty burnt taste. It's easy to do, just push the wick to one side out from under the bridge using a straightened paper clip, then grab the wick with a tweezers and gently pull it out.

Agreed. I usually use them as-is until the burning taste gets overwhelming. Then I'll de-wick and they're good for a while longer. Then the crud gets too thick on the coil and they're trash for me. A 2Ω cisco usually goes 2 weeks then gets dewicked and is good for another week or two. This is an acceptable longevity to me for the price. Now if only I could get a rebuildable atty that works on the reo I'd be set.

Since you already have the burnt taste. Not sure if you primed them first or waited until you after to prime them. But, remove the wick either way like others have said. That'll solve at least one of your problems.

I usually de-wick all of my atties before I even prime them. It's the main problem to all the burnt taste that I've ever gotten. You have to keep the 1.5's constantly wet to not have the dry hit. Squonk it every 5 hits or so and your good.

I am also an atty noob. One thing I learned that might help out folks new to atty's is to put a slightly used battery on the mod (maybe vaped 1-2 hours) when starting a brand new atty. It might just be me, but when I was all excited to try a new atty I would load up juice, and grab a nice 4.2v fully charged battery, drip, soak, wait, and the fire that puppy up and immediately fry it like a piece of bad chicken.

After a while I noticed that whenever I grab a new charged battery it was more difficult to keep the atty wet. So I started breaking in attys on a lower volt battery first. Yes the vape wasn't mind blowing, but it gave this newb a little leeway to learn.

Hope this is helpful.

This makes sense, Thanks bogey. when my attys get here this is what I will do. If a 8 dollar piece of equipment goes in the trash the first day I would be majorly PO!

Once you get the burnt taste they are done :(

Either de-wick them or chuck them.

I got sick of chucking new ones in the trash.

Even with soaking them and letting them sit 1 out of every 3 still burnt on me.
I think their quality make have taken a .... lately :(

Switched to Joye myself just because they are impossible to burn.
If you get the burnt taste with a joye, just add more juice and its back to good vapin.

I love the 306LR 1.5. I actually rotate through 7 of them, I go on them until they start getting a little "mushy" or hard to draw through. They go into a mug and once a week I boil a coffee mug of water in the nuker, let it set for a minute (or less /grin) and toss them in. I do this 2 times and use a spoon to GENTLY fold them. I drain the water, blow them out and let them sit /shrug, fixes any problems. I like SWEET juices though. My atty's go anywhere from 3 days to 7 days before I have to clean them. Havn't blown one since I started doing this cleaning routine.
