The head lasts depending on the juice and power you put through it. The darker the juice the shorter life of the head. Also if you put higher voltage/wattage through it, it then will die faster. Generally, the head will last you around 1-2 weeks, still work then but not efficient and gives you bad taste of your juice.

You can buy silica or cotton and nichrome or Kanthal 32 gauge to rebuild it. A little fiddles, but not too hard to do. Search for Youtube videos to learn how to do it.

i am new to vaping so i was going to get the vivi nova, how long will the head last before it should be replaced? i thought i read a post about rebuilding them with coil wire, is this worth the time when new heads are $5? my version will be the v3 so does this still need to be done?

this is yet another reason i do not recommend the vivi nova to noobs. quite frankly its a device meant to be an introduction to rebuildables, if you aren't rebuilding a nova, it's technically cheaper to buy cartomizers...

A 15 dollar nova with cheapo replaceable heads? i would agree with something like a smoktek hyper srt being a great gateway device but a nova? lol there are clearos with heads the same price, the nova is just a bigger capacity clearo really.

The heads last a LOT longer than 2 weeks. I've got some that have been going for months. And the replacement heads are about $2.50 - $3.00 depending on where you buy them. The Vivi Nova is, in my opinion, a great bargain. It is the most reliable, trouble-free juice delivery system I've found.

Just be sure you buy the genuine Vision ones, not some cheap knock-off. The cheap imitations leak and will give you all sorts of problems. The $2 or $3 you save on knock-offs is false economy.

i agree with the bigger capacity clearo point...however i'm not understanding the rest of the post as far as clarity....i can bring up multiple points if you wish about why i believe the nova is a vastly inferior device in many ways for new users, but i'll simply stick to the right now: it is rebuildable, the heads can be rebuilt for 5 cents, or you can replace the entire head for 2.50....a carto costs 1.50 and can be used just as long as a head if you take the same amount of care cleaning it...the only way you make out better on a price point is if you rebuild.

i don't believe it's a go-to noob device, while i admit its the only clearo that is worth actually spending hard earned dollars on, i still find it inferior to other juice delivery systems, and have been pushing noobs to choose their own methods as opposed to taking up the disgusting "nova or bust" mentality that has been running rampant....why must we all push everyone into ONE thing? vaping is NOT a one-trick pony.

You can make Vivi head last for months if you only put less than a ml through it per day :) .... Seriously I don't know how you can make it last months .... LOL Try to put 4ml of coffee flavor through it per day, I bet you it still works after 2 weeks but taste like craps and not efficient at all.

the head would work, the wick and coil would not, which is why i say it is meant to be rebuildable. the juice you mention would end up being the consistancy of used motor oil....one of the biggest problems with the nova is the sludge buildup, it does not handle heat well and basically uses the juice as a heat sync...this kills a good ml or so of juice at the end of the second tank....and even if you WANTED to vape that crap, you'd have a tough time getting it to wick.

i can see your points and I beleived that too BUT from the noob side of things its a fairly easy device to use and maintain, while you try to find something you like better. i started with clearos, almost everyone leaked or spilled or some damn flaw, almost drove me to quit, while I totaly agree there are better, as the nova is middle of the road for vape production, I also see it as a device that wont fill your mouth with goo when your new to this and VERY impressionable for a decent price point, so i dont have a nova or bust mentality but as with all things i do think its a proven reliable starting point until you really find what your looking for. from my own experience i think carts are too high maintenance with the constant topping off and most clearos leak, this is also my opinion. some users experiences may be different. its not always about saving 18 cents but getting someone involved.

we have experience, a lot of people starting out may not have the technical skills to even hold a multimeter, or get too intimidated with talk of rebuilding this and stock up on this wire. i use the nova mainly because i can drop it in my pocket, rattle it around bend over drop it whatever and still now unless its broke it didnt or wont fill my mouth with goo, I have much better at home but geez ya gotta help people get started as easy as possible, get to liking this stuff and make sure they want to stick with it before everyone starts with the rebuild this or that and buy that 100 dollar atty and 200 dollar mods.

so you say that its easier for someone new to start out with a nova? and how? if you choose a carto or a clearo, its the same thing: add juice, screw on, and vape....well except that with the clearo you're going to get a dry hit every other drag.....and those silica wicks are absolutely awful.

I'm not using very dark juice, but I'm getting about a month out of my heads. I vape 4-5ml a day. Is a new head best, sure, but I'm fine with the way they are now too. I clean them once a week. YMMV. As far as cartos go, I don't like them all that much. A bit better flavor, but I find the hits very dry on the mouth and throat. Not a dry hit mind you, they just dry me out. I do like them on a standard eGo for when I need a very pocketable device, or for on a lanyard when I'm kayak fishing.

I started on the Nova after 3 weeks, I didn't find it at all hard to use as a relative newbie (I tried carts 2yrs ago). Replacing a head is easy, rebuilding, not so much. Pbusadrdo's video on cleaning and rebuilding the Nova is a great intro video. Finally, at $2.95 a head every 3 weeks I think that's pretty cheap.

What do I recommend for the newbie, 2 Vivi Novas and 2 cartos. Gotta have options and backups for your backups right?

I really dont want to battle over ta stupid clearo, but i dont seem to have a problem with juice I keep topping the samne tank off for a couple days, ok im not some purist but i sure dont have this sludge and after a cleaning it keeps going just fine, everyone has there opinion and miliage may vary per user.. but since you asked show me a 3 mil clearo and ill try it out closest I could find were 2.something Krangers.

this guy gets it. give them a variety and let them decide what they like. don't push one device as the end-all do-all in the vaping world.

yes mileage may very, i understand, and i understand you may not have sludge if you clean after every tank full....as for showing you a 3ml clearo, i present to you: the vivi nova.....in case you haven't noticed, it's just one big clearo, just slightly less crappy, but still fairly crappy.

by the way spell check could be your best friend, you are extremely difficult to debate with on the basis that i can't understand gibberish.

This is how you make a Vivi head last at least 6 weeks.

It's easy to do and replaceable heads are very cheap if it's messed up.

While I personally believe that a Vivi Nova or a Kanger T2 are the easiest and cheapest to maintain for someone starting out, there are other choices.

Cartos work better (again, my opinion), but can be flaky and, if not in a tank, are a pain to refill. They also work out as more expensive than a Vivi as a carto will last me 5 days and all my Vivi heads are between 4 weeks and 8 weeks old and still going strong.

Atomizers are good too, but dripping is a hassle to most and has a steep learning curve.

ok you win, you hijacked the post and proved your point, everyone using or recommending a nova is a money wasting chump who shouldn't be involved in vaping, you talk about choice and that's fine.
the OP is trying to make one and your slamming it, instead of offering a suggestion with what other device to try you slam us for agreeing with his.
I have read many of your posts and find this behavior odd from you. your usually a little more constructive than this.
