Refill when you're not getting vapor, or a dry burned taste.. Also if you're not sure, pull the cart and see if its wet on top. Don't let it pool up, it'll flood, but it should be wet. Also, if you're really not sure, stick a toothpick or a paperclip in and pull the filler right out and look at it and check. Then just fluff it up a lil and shove it back in.

And don't worry, it's nearly impossible to "mess it up". To much or not enough juice can't do any permanent damage.

Do be careful not to flood the atty with an auto battery though. I have flooded one and screwed up an auto battery. I'm still trying to dry it after a week and see if it'll work correctly. If you have a manual though, flood away, I do, on purpose, every time I drip. :)

What everyone else said - first you'll taste a lower amount of flavor and then a dry air taste that your throat will feel. Sometimes you can get some juice at the bottom of the cart by doing a 'thermometer' motion, led side down so you're moving the juice toward the atty. You can get a few good draws that way.

You are right about the auto battery but as far as I know all 510s have manual sealed batteries.
