Hey I've been vaping for a while now and I've been using my siegeli 50w vr2 box with a subtank mini and loved it. Unfortunately my subtank broke just this week so I decided to get the Uwell crown cause I read a lot of reviews saying it's good. I didn't realize that it needed more than 50w to use the .5 and the .25 coils so I decided to get the IPV5 box to be able to get the most out of the tank.

Now I haven't used anything bigger than my 50w box and am completely new to TC and all the different types of coils you can choose (which is pretty crazy and amazing to me) on the higher watt box mods. So my question is do I have to set my IPV5 to any certain setting when I'm using the .5 and the .25 coils that come with the uwell crown tank? I was using the 1.2 with my old sigelei box and it was pretty good but only after 3 or 4 days of using it, the airflow part got soaked with juice and it was leaking out of the airflows, does anyone know why? And how can I keep that from happening? Also when should I use the joule/tc settings? Basically I'm a complete newb to this and if anyone can explain it and "dumb" it down for me that'd be good. Thanks.

First off, one of the few things I do know is that some mods are not set up for TC with stainless steel cools, which the .5 & .25 uwells are. My coolfire TC100 is, but I don't know anything about the IPV5, so I'm no help there. if you don't have a SS setting for temp control, you will need to use the nickle uwell coils if you wish to vape in TC mode with the crown tank. Secondly, you DO NOT HAVE TO run the Crown at such high wattage if you don't wish to. I have a very few juices I can vape at 80watts in that tank, but most get too hot for me, and I get tons of flavor and decent vape production using the .25 coil in SS tc mode at 45-50 watts and 425-450 degrees fareinheit. I hope someone else can help you figure out your mod, I just don't have any experience with that particular mod to be of much help.

My crown leaked when it was new. After a couple weeks it was fine & has been for about 6 months. I'm not sure why but not complaining. When I was using .25s I set my mod between 60 & 80 watts. Now I use the .5 around 30-40 or in temp. It's just as satisfying if not better plus juice & batteries last a lot longer. Also take your time breaking in the coils. I usually cover the top & let it soak in 5-10 times, get the inside & juice holes then put everything together & fill it. After 10 minutes or so start with low power & work your way up. Do a pull with the air holes closed & no power every few hits. Sounds like a pita but I have enjoyed the tank so much more since doing this.
