Need some help with what to get next

So 1 and half week into my vaping experience and I am really enjoying it. I am down to 1 or 2 analogs a day and today I actually did not finish the analog, horrible taste.

To start out I got the 510 starter pack from Cignot and I also purchased some 30 ML or juice from LitecigUSA. Both distributors are top notch! So far I have done the BFM on all my carts, I like how it works. I am still learning how to refill my carts but I think im getting the hang of it. Still get some flooding here and there but thats ok. I love the Vapor production of the 510 and well as the TH.

My last order included 2 bottles of the PG based menthol as well as 1 bottle of Rath Juice Tobacco Menthol, this is a VG based Juice and so far I really like the VG stuff, More vapor, but I did notice that the TH on the PG is a bit better.

Well payday is around the corner and I am feeling the itch to get some new toys. But I can't make my mind on what to get. I am really interested on getting a USB pass trough as well as some spare Attys and Some other accessories, I would not even rule out getting a different model starter kit. Here are some of the things I had in mind

510 Manual USB Passthrough from litecigusa: This thing has a battery as well and I was thinking about using it on my 1 hour commute to and from work.

New Juice: I currently have 11mg juice so I was thinking about hitting tastyvapor for some juice. I am looking for more Hit as well as a good juice for say after dinner or while im drinking.

Maybe another starter kit?

What you guys think? as always thanks very much for your help and happy vaping!

I'm in a similar situation, I've got all 510 stuff, and want to branch out. The passthrough sounds more and more like a pretty important thing to have, I'm thinking I'll save on batteries that way.
Instead of a whole new kit, have you looked at any of the mods? You can get one that fits your 510 parts as well eh. There certainly are no shortage of reviews on here, only problem is so many things look good :

I'd highly recommend looking into a PCC if you don't have one already. It gives you a nice clean case to carry two extra carts, an atty with a third cart attached, and a battery that's always charged.

I've got a USB pass-through with the battery. Love it, I use it to vape all day long while sitting at my desk.

For e-juice, I'm really liking Halo 'Freedom' (18mg). There's a few reviews for it here, check it out!

Yea there are a ton of awesome products to buy out there...it's kinda overwhelming at first. But once you find the atty you like the best (510 for me), then you can narrow the search a bit; or buy adapters for w/e atty u like best if the mod isn't compatible. I bought the Vapor Talk Passthru and absolutely LOVED IT! 5v vaping is sooo much better than 3.7 imo. However, after about 4 months of use, my VP PT just got stuck "on" whenever I plugged it in...almost started a fire with the damn thing...So I just bought the Silver Bullet so I can try my hand at 6v vaping.:D

IMHO, just get a mod. You're going to get sick of charging and changing batteries all the time. Eventually you will buy a mod, save yourself the money and frustration and do it now. They cost more than the the little starter kits, but in the long run they are way cheaper and you'll be much happier. Sorry if that came out a little harsh. But I wish someone had told me that when I started.

Thats what I did. I went for the Bartleby, it has a great battery and also has a mini-usb built in for when the battery is running low. Also it runs at a real 3.7v as opposed to the 3.0v that the stock 510 battery runs at.

The main reason that I went that way, is that I got really sick of the batteries dying at the most inopportune times, and I had the PCC.

Go for the Bartleby, and you will not be disappointed.

I hope this helps.

I started with the 510 also, but got a bit frustrated at the carts running dry and batteries dying at inopportune times. I made a homemade 5v PT that helped when I was at home, but still had issues at work.
Side note: Still loving the PT on occasion, supply list/pics in here -> http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...rough-mod-question-post994369.html#post994369

For now I am 100% happy with a protege/adapter/cartomizers/TV liquid.

Protege: Yes it's about 2-3x the cost of a starter kit, but the batteries last soooo much longer. You can choose what atty you want to use with it. It is bigger and heavier than the 510, but after a week I didn't notice until I used a 510 battery for a bit. I started with the 510 attys and just bought an adapter to use cartomizers last week.

Cartomizers: Hold a bunch more liquid and if you fry the atty its only a little over $1 out the window. I now fill a couple each morning and don't have to worry about filling though out the day.

Tasty Vapor: Atomic Cinnicide FTW! Even the 12mg juice has a good TH. With 48mg + Doubler you can have 150ml of juice for $30!! I've liked all but one of the other flavors I've ordered as well.

I still want to try 1 of every liquid and a bunch more mods, but there is not urgency!

I agree with going higher voltage. The bartleby is a great choice, so is the Silver Bullet, the Chuck or any of the bigger mods.

I vape at 3.7 and it's the perfect amount of vapor, throat hit and battery life. I change my battery once a day and it is so much easier than carrying around 3 or 4 extra batteries when you go anywhere...and having the pain of charging them all.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Thanks Guys, i will look into the bartleby. I was always intrigued by the Cartomizer. How d these perform compared to the 510 cart/Atty

Like dfib said, the cartomizers have their plusses, namely they can hold more liquid than a cart. They are made to be disposable, so can be convenient but expensive if you do that. They can be refilled, but aren't as easy to refill as a cart (of course). Then there's the issue that cartomizers burn their filling easily if you aren't careful, and this risk is compounded when you add more voltage.

Personally, I think the 510 atty is the best bet. It is very simple, a durable workhorse, and gives the best performance for X amount of voltage compared to other devices. Get the Bartleby with 510 attys, blue-foam mod your carts (they will hold a ton more liquid and vape dry each time), and keep a few spare attys handy. Guaranteed performance, and in my opinion, convenient too. Good luck :)

Okay guys. I am totally lost on all this. I just signed up here and just started vaping a few days ago. I made the mistake and bought the smoking everywhere gimmick from some kiosk in the mall. Either way, I am hooked now and want to upgrade to something new. I was looking at the V4L Vapor King manual so the batt lasts longer. I don't know what model that is, or what model mine is. Now I hear about a Barltleby (sp) and modding....WOW am I confused. I like the cartomizers and I have been refilling the ones I have because the kiosk is out of them....some hold up with customs they say. So what do I do. I like the small units like the one I have, but a little longer wouldn't kill me. I don't want some big thing like I have seen here. I also don't want something with one of those cigar tip looking doohickies on the end. I am so lost. I hear the 901 is good, and the 510, but I don't know where to get them. Someone help please.

Thanks
PB

doolie304: Okay guys. I am totally lost on all this. I just signed up here and just started vaping a few days ago.

Welcome!

Look at this this way - there are 'cig style ecigs' - those that are close to looking like a cigarette - skinny tubes, etc. and the batteries in them, for the most part are good for anywhere from an hour to 4+. Mods are modifications that use regular lithium ion batteries that can be used for electronics projects, are in some cell phones etc. - they are not proprietary, they are bigger and they last longer and can run at higher voltages than the proprietary batteries that come with the starter kits.

Most people start out with those starter kit batteries but then get tired of recharging all the time or want more power (ie. more vapor) so eventually go to some type of 'mod'.

Manual batteries have a button to activate the atomizer to vaporize the eliquids. Auto batteries either key off the sound you make drawing on an ecig or the vacuum created in the process. Both can have either short or longer life for those type of batteries but manual is, in general, preferred because you're in control of the process.

I like the cartomizers and I have been refilling the ones I have because the kiosk is out of them....

There are cartridges that fit onto atomizers and can be removed from them for filling - you drip ejuice onto the 'filler' in the cartridge - that is likely what you're doing.

There are 'cartomizers' - which instead of having an atomizer and a cartridge, this is a self contained unit that has both the atomizer and the cartridge in one. They are designed to be thrown away after use, but there are ways of refilling them and of course that is less expensive. And they usually have a longer vape time than cartridges - say 2-3 hours of heavy vaping with the cartomizers (aka 'cartos') and 20-50 minutes with a cartridge (aka 'cart'). And of course ymmv (if you hold your cursor over abbreviations that are underlined you'll see what it is - hover a bit ;-)

cartos model:
Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King Ultimate Starter Kit

some hold up with customs they say. So what do I do. I like the small units like the one I have, but a little longer wouldn't kill me. I don't want some big thing like I have seen here.

A 'little longer' makes a big difference - you likely have a 'supermini' and you might like a 'mini' - the "3 piece" (batt, atty, cart) -510, 901, or a "2 piece" - KR808D-1 (which comes with cartomizers). Also possible is the 801 which is a bit longer - better battery and cartridge life - the 'pen style'.

There are others - Tornado (highly recommended because it is short (about the size of a 901) but the battery is good for at least 6 hours and just a bit larger in diameter than the cig style ecig. It's not one of those 'big things' that you've seen ;-) [also sold as the eGo at Janty when they have them in stock and dietsmokes who does have them in, last I looked]

Wicked-TORNADO E-NI or Electronic Nicotine Inhalator Black.

If you end up getting this, get the quick charger for it:
TORNADO-Mega Powered USB Charger

I also don't want something with one of those cigar tip looking doohickies on the end. I am so lost. I hear the 901 is good, and the 510, but I don't know where to get them. Someone help please.

Actually, the 801 is the only real cigar tip thingy and the flat tips are really nice for keeping the wrinkles at bay :) and also give a better seal for the draw. Although you can get round ones for the Tornado. Just ask in the comments section when you order and wherever you order.

For the 901 madvapes.com is a good vendor and for the Joye 510 (the Joye part is important, imo - there are clones of that one), it's the most popular model around here and no one has a better price and quick shipping than:

Joye 510 NO BOX

(ah... none til Saturday.... see I told you they were popular ;-) Worth the wait if you go that way.

And if you like the idea of cartomizers, you can still use them on any 3 piece ecig with an adapter:

AltSmoke | Personal Vaporizers - Ecigs Battery Adapters - Adapters - PV Parts - Products

They actually do their best on a Bartleby but the 510 still creates more vapor and imo, flavor, in many ejuices.

The cartomizers are promoted as no mess and no fuss but that's only if you actually use them as intended - as disposables. Few do that - it's too expensive. Here's a 'refilling comparison' - you decide:

YouTube - modded green cig cart

Thanks Kent C.

Still a lot of information to digest, but you dissected it pretty well for me. I think I will go with the V4L kit for now. I guess like any other hobby, I can always buy another toy as I get more experience. I am refilling the cartomizers, the regualar carts that you get with smoking everywhere are just not strong enough, so I bought some cartomizers from the kiosk guy. They were an off brand i guess. Thanks again, and I am sure you will here from me again here, this is a great forum. I will surely be lurking in the weeds around here for weeks, reading and learning.

Not my choice but not the worst either. I have cartomizers that I use on special occasions using the 510 to carto adapter - best of both worlds in that sense. The 510 atty is the real workhorse for vapor and flavor of tobacco ejuices, and the battery needs help - hence the Tornado, mega batts, mods....

I guess like any other hobby, I can always buy another toy as I get more experience.

Lol. Yep. I've got a few. ;-) And it really is best to get going with something rather than nothing. That way you have a judgment - much like what you got with the SE ecig.

Ah - good! You're likely getting better vapor now.

That's what I did before signing up.
