I have searched site for answers to many things but I couldn't find this problem so I joined and maybe thought i can get some help

Background: I started smoking e cigg about 2 years ago and I have a joye510 and frankly it just wasnt great, I started dripping and it got better but then my liquid ran out and I got a new liquid that didn't taste the same and had a toothpaste taste to it (i smoke newport ciggs), i tried a ton of dif liquid and nothing was to my liking. I went back to smoking.

Now: 2 weeks ago I decided to give e ciggs another .... since all the improvements of all the technology they have come up with and i am very impressed

I have
vision spinner 1300 mah
screw tank (smoke tech i think)
2x non rebuildable vision clearomizers
2x v2 vision clearomizers

I smoke newport so I tend to stay with menthol liquid and some are great some are just complete miss, I actually used my old liquid that I had from 2 years ago cause I read they need to age sometimes and they are decent now

I got Dekang salem and dekang nuport 18mg and I like them both kinda, but I would like to get better, so any suggestions I would be open to especially if you smoke newport ciggs and found a good replacement for it

my main problem I am having today is I wanted to try dif kinds of flavors, so I went to madvapes (topvapor brand)and bought 9 bottles of all kinds of stuff like banana, caramel, vanilla etc, all 18mg 5ml bottles. So I dripped these flavors in an atty to try them out before i put them in a clearomizer or tank and they are just HORRID. The only one that I can actually taste flavors in are terrible flavors and some I cant even taste, everything just taste burnt and nasty. It is not the atty, I have cleaned it, dried it, dry burned it, tested with my menthol in between it is def the liquid.

So my main question is, are flavored liquids supposed to be sweet or are they all going to have this bitter burnt taste? I heard madvapes had good liquid is there somewhere else I should try? I was thinking a sweet liquid would taste kind of like a good hookah flavor would and it was completely different. Does anyone else feel this way, should I just stick to menthol flavors? ohh and the menthol I got from madvapes doesnt taste like menthol at all either.

Thanks for reading and any input given

I haven't ever purchased from madvapes so I can't comment on their juices. That being said, many liquids need time to steep before they are very good to vape. Someone will come by and comment on whether or not that applies to madvapes liquids, I'm not sure if they make them to order or not.

Steep them for a week and see how they taste.

Burnt taste? My first thought is the atty. Since you are 100% sure it is not the atty, it sounds like the power maybe too high. Have you turned the spinner down to it's lowest setting? Also, some liquids do need to steep to taste right. Usually a week is enough, but some get even better the longer steeped.

The hardest part of this whole crazy scene is finding an all day juice or at least 2 or 3 that you really love. I am not a fruit or candy guy-I like tobacco flavors. I didnt smoke menthol cigs, but there are a few menthol juices I enjoy from time to time. I have had good luck with a few vendors-backwoods brew makes some excellent juice (I have tried the orchard frost, which is a menthol, and I like it). Mr. Vape is pretty good, too. Since taste is so subjective, you're just going to have to keep trying vendors until you find whatever works. Altsmoke makes a few menthol flavors (my buddy swears by the Georgia ice storm). Definitely order the smaller size until you hit the jackpot. Good luckm

Well either way the flavored juices usually do taste as advertised. I do find that a lot of flavors seem like a good idea until I taste them.

yea the best tasting one I got, a hazlenut caramel macchaito has the closest taste but I am not a huge fan

I am going to try and steep them for a week and see what happens, I may have went a little overboard with some of these flavors, but I figured for a few bucks each just give it a shot (5ml bottles)

I'm not personally a fan of clearomizers, or string wicked delivery devices. They've always given me a harsh vape. But that's just me, as there obviously are many people who use and love them. I've been an exclusive cartotank vapor myself.

Concerning e-liquids, I've personally found the vendors that specialize in making their own juices make the better quality ones. I stay away from those "have it all" e-cig stores for e-cigs. Their main focus is not juice, but hardware. I figure if a juice-only vendor makes bad juices, they aren't going to be in business for long.

Note that your tastebuds have been damaged from years of smoking, so your sense of taste is going to be off. They'll heal, and your sense of taste will return to normal but it will take time.

I recommend finding some specialty e-juice manufacturers who do custom mixing. They create you juice to your order at the time you place your order, not make it ahead of time in large batches and then leave it on a shelf in a storeroom until it gets shipped to your mailbox. These custom juices are nearly always better juices.

Many vendors offer sampler packs, where you can order 3-4 small bottles to test them out before spending a lot of money (and wasting it) on larger bottles. Once you find a winner or two, you can always order more in a larger quantity.

Tony, I didnt put them in the tank and clearo, i dripped it in an atty

Sikko, would having them new make them taste burnt, I know about steeping I have them all sitting on my desk with the caps off, but I thought that had to do with a chemical taste

I wouldn't think that it would make it taste burnt, I did however have a juice one time that used some sort of sweetener in it. It would be fine for a little while, then the sweetener would burn and pretty much destroy the atty, even dry burning didn't help it. Couldn't taste anything except burnt from then on.

Madvapes custom mixes your juice fresh after it is ordered, so while you may get lucky and some of them may arrive okay and ready to vape, some of them may need steeping time. Some people steep their juices up to 2 weeks or more, just depends on the individual juice. I ordered from MV and found a few favorites which I have reordered. Irish Mintz is one, I was a menthol smoker too, but it is a mild creamy mint not a harsh icy mint menthol like in some of their fruit ice flavors which are quite strong. I also found quite a few that had to be steeped before they could be tolerably vaped, this group all seemed to have this same strange base flavor to it that needed over 2 weeks to work itself out. Then there were some that I thought were so gross and perfumey that they went in the trash because even steeping was no use, even though some people gave them great reviews on the website. That's why everyone on here says taste is subjective. :)

Also, what resistance and voltage are you dripping at? Madvapes juice is 80%VG/20%PG and from what I have read VG burns more easily than PG. From my experience with their juices that has been true with the higher ratio of VG content. If they get burnt they taste that way, but normally they should be tasting sweet. I have the banana flavor, Top Banana. It's sweet and definitely banana, not bitter. Since you said all your flavors other than the menthol are tasting this way it makes me think of one other thing, which is Vaper's Tongue. It's something a lot of new vapers can get when they start vaping. It happened to me only a week or two into vaping. Make sure you are drinking a lot of water and staying hydrated.

I read this when it happened to me and it helped. Taste Buds and Vapers Tongue

Whatever it is, hope you figure it out!
