you can pretty much find an adapter for any device to any carto/atty. your passthrough is likely 5v, so that's what you are looking for. i've found that for me 3.7v with a LR atty is even more satisfying than my 5v PT, though obviously this wouldn't make use of your v4l cartos. there are a number of 5v box mods available, some tube mods regulated to 5v, and of course VV mods can be tuned to 5v. Virtually any of these can be used with your 808 cartos

don't go resistor.
regulators toss out the extra current as heat. (about 40% wasted energy)
a switch regulator controls the output of voltage. and is 90% effective at retaining cell power)

now depending on how much you vape you could rock a dual cr123a set up in 18hrs. or it could last you all of 5hrs
the only sure thing for longevity is the tekk mod. one charge and you go 3-5 days vaping. and can charge up other devices with it.

All of my fixed voltage mods have been retired since I bought my Buzz a couple of months ago. I love the built in protection and the ability to adjust the voltage to suit my flavors and taste. No more wasting money on LR or HV attys or cartos. The Buzz from Notcigs comes with your choice of cap fitting, 808, 510, etc.

Check out the new adjustable volt ∞Infinity∞ Notcigs is rolling out for Christmas...all the goodness of the Buzz in a sleeker design http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/notcigs/133854-infinity-coming-soon-notcigs.html

The silver bullet is a solid 6v mechanical device, i had one before my GG collection, the buzz is electronic and is a bit iffy to me, depends if variable voltage is that important to you, reliability is the price you pay though.

Why not go for a GGTB ? it's only 73 bux and totally mechanical. I hate to be a fanboy but Imeo really nailed it with that device and price.

I think I've added the Prodigy V 3.1 to the mix, since they are right here in Nashville!

The only thing i don't like about the Puresmoker mods is they always have something not right or annoying with them, either they don't fit a certain type of battery without messing with washers, have seperate springs which can easily get lost, don't work with certain brands of atomizers properly, just little things like that. But if those things don't bother you then it's not a bad choice.

I have a GLV2 5 volt that I love and use 808 cartos on (with an adapter). I also have a Buzz variable voltage mod that I ordered with an 808 connecter and it's awesome. GLV from Great Lakes Vapor and the Buzz from Notcigs. Both companies are great to deal with too.
+1 for the Buzz, The original and still the best mod there is.

I'm ordering something tomorrow.

I have it narrowed down to the Silver Bullet, or the Buzz with 510 cartomizers.

Anybody care to Chime In?

*CHIME!*
Between those choices (and I'll include the Prodigy) The Buzz is the clear winner as far as performance goes. VV should stand for "versatile voltage". Mike (Buzzkill) at NotCigs offers a 6 month warranty on those things and they're in stock. I hear he's great about honoring his warranty too.
That's my chimey two cents.:)
