Hi all! I haven't been around the forum for awhile but I am still going strong with my PV. A couple of months ago I fried the 6V batteries for my Reo Grande and I picked up my back-up, a 1100 mah ego. I never got around to ordering new batteries because that I found that I prefer the feel and smaller size of the ego over the convenience of the reo. I am really starting to miss 6V though so I am thinking I might invest in a VV tube mod. The only one I know of is the Provari, but I am just wondering if there is anything else out there? I am no good at juggling multiple PV's cause I always seem to loose it if I am not using it so I want something that I can use for everywhere. I don't want to be bothered with 5 different types of batteries to get different voltages, and I prefer something discreet that can fit in the palm of my hand. I drip and I like that the cone on my eGo contains the mess and I don't know if there is anything out there that will fit the cone (besides the eGo booster). I don't need it right away, but I don't want to be stuck on a waiting list for 2 months either! Any suggestions appreciated :)

I own an original Infinity, and a Buzz Pro. Both are very solid VV PVs. I get 6 - 7 ml of vaping out of one set of batteries, running around 5V/8W.

They're quite durable, very simple to use (just turn a wheel to change the voltage). These are clean, regulated, VV devices -- the output stays at whatever you set it to until it's time to change the batteries.

Run time is the same for them, as both use 650 mAh batteries and the same internal circuit. The BP uses a more common battery form factor, but I've been very happy with the Infinity batteries.

They have a positive off -- bottom cap has delrin plastic, just unscrew it a fraction and no chance of accidental firing. No LCD display on them -- just turn the wheel until it tastes good :). Operating range is, IIRC, 3.5 - 5.5V, max power of 15W. You can even run a 1.5 ohm dual coil up to about 4.7V.

The IP runs $30 - $40 less than the BP, is a more elegant looking device IMO, as it is a bit slimmer and longer. I like them both a lot, they're all I use. "ECF Buzzkill" is the standard coupon code.

They are both also available with a wood veneer, worked up by another supplier but sold on the notcigs site. Notcigs has really good customer service, and a very active forum area.

well most cones wont fit nothing but a ego, but you can pick up a dripshield and an 510-510 connector for extra room for it to work with your new mod. Also without knowing how much you want to spend, the vv saber touch looks pretty small

oh and id kill for that dusty old grande just saying :p

I was going to wait until I bought something else to post my grand in the classifieds but if you want it, we could probably work something out. I don't really have a budget for a new PV, I am thinking I will probably go Provari if I can get it to work with a drip shield. Do the drip shields come in silver from anywhere, or can anyone comment on how the black finish holds up on the provari?

Is it just not your thing or is there a reason why you wouldn't recommend it?

LR atties on a 3.3-3.7 volt device are perfect for me. VV devices don't have great battery life, and I have like two SR atties anyways. There's not point in using a VV only to set the voltage down to 3.7 for my LRs.

The Sabre VV is a bit utilitarian in its look, but the touch sensor is kinda cool.

Empire mods sells all sorts of different colored drip shields but unfortunately they are sold out still but happy vapour sells a dripshield cone

the size is the main thing holding me back from the provari.

Hi lelly - long time no see!

Re: the size of the ProVari: I have one, and believe me...it is a very pert & compact device. At least, it is with the 18490 batt. In the palm of my hand, basically only the cap-ends are showing. I understand the perception on your part. I shared it before I had it. The ProVari looks far bigger in some pics & vids than it actually is. I was expecting it to be far larger, and was pleasantly surprised to see how wrong I was.

It is very compact, and a lot smaller than many other mods. I absolutely love it - how it vapes, works, the durability & beauty, all of that - & have no hesitation in recommending it.

LOL @ provari.. I honestly don't know what all you guys see in that thing.. I sold mine after 2 weeks..

You're better off waiting for the kick "drop in" from Evolv, or just buy a Darwin unless you're insistent that a mod must be phallic lol... The Kick will Turn any regular 18650 tube mod into a adjustable wattage regulated vape for only $45, and it shares the same internals as the Darwin which is far superior technology then provari.

Just my honest opinion though, good luck!
