So I thought I would throw this one out there and get some suggestions. I was talking to my ex-wife today and found out her father recently went blind. Me and the old man went down the first vaping path together with some horrible Green Smoke kits. Needless to say we kept smoking analogs. After over a month of success with some real mods and juice I thought it might be nice to pay it forward a bit.

I was originally thinking a vamo until I found out he went blind.... that's out of the window for button controlled VV mods now.

Then I thought about a Ego TWIST but he's a heavy smoker and even those are VV I don't think it will get the needed vape effect or batter life.

So this leaves me with either a Mech or Maybe something with a dna and a knob. Not sure a kick would be very good due to the lack of vision. Mechs are nice but not sure how the battery life is going to hold up with the degrading voltage. And if its a mech it would probably need to be a straight up 18650.

So I present to you all... help me figure out a easy but damn good setup for a blind man.

Thank you for your input.

Maybe a mech with the new Crown (kick like device)? If I remember right ... you use your power button to change the Crown's settings and it beeps to give you feedback on what it is set to. While that might annoy many of us, it might just be the perfect thing for the vision impaired.

This is great advice.

Even a kick in a mechanical mod would be nice, given that most people find a happy spot on the wattage dial and leave it there. You could sit with him and see where he likes it, get it set up and leave it there. The only issue might be with changing batteries and having to re-install the kick. I can't think of a mod that would allow you to leave the kick in place while you change batteries, but I'm sure they exist.

Those are way too fiddly for a blind person. Imagin a blib person trying to unscrew a mod to change the batteries. Not only would he have to change the batteries, but also reinstall the crown every time. Sounds like an invatation to frustration. I think you need something that has an on board battery that charges with a USB. IMO the itaste MVP would fit the bill nicely. With the one big power button and the two voltage buttons in a compleatly different place there would be no confusing them. Get low resistant cartos and he should be good to go.

I certainly don't want to be a downer here but I'd be leary about the charging of a battery like the 18650 by someone who's blind. Everything on a li-ion is done by sight and although you could place the batteries in the charger by feel, how would you know when they're done? What about metering them? What if the charger decided to have a meltdown, or a battery vented? Could you or someone else charge his batteries and then take them to him? If not, would a passthrough with an ac adapter be a better option? VaprLife carries one that goes from 3.4 to 6 volts via thumbwheel adjustment and plugs into the wall with a 9v plug; The Pearl PT

That's a great suggestion an I will look into it. But 2 things to keep in consideration with most blind people is that they are not social isolated so there is people to help with things. The other is that do leave the house or the chair. That's a awesome mod and I may consider one for myself too.

I think I am just going to build a box mod with 2 or 3 18650's in parallel. So that will supply 4000 to 6000 mah. Looks like the DNA12 will work fine. I just need to source the right potentiometer that clicks every step instead of a smooth turn. With the USB chargers I think I can make it so the batteries won't have to be changed unless they go bad. It may need 2 to bump the charge rate up some. 500 mah might take a while to charge that many 18650's
