Have you considered the Atmizoo Roller? It's a retractable tube mechanical mod that's very versatile: it will take 16340, 18350, 18500 or 18650 batteries and you could add a Kick/Crown if you like. People that have them on this forum rave about them.

Atmizoo currently has them Roller SS-Custom available for order and I am very tempted. I really <3 my 14500 mod though, and I don't know that I would actually want to carry anything larger...

A Sigelei #8 is a nice cheap mechanical. Well built and sturdy. I really like mine. It's a good mechanical to start with.

I'll second the #8. It will probably meet your needs and give you a good intro to the capabilities of a mech. Then, in time, you can get something that may give you more of what you might need. There is no reason to spend more than you have to.

The fire button on the Empire clone is a very uncomfortable, you need a pinky with biceps, and there is no locking feature,so putting in your pocket is very dangerous.

If you're referring to the Kamry K100 it does indeed having a locking mechanism. It's a threaded ring that twist down to prevent the pinky button from being fired.

I agree the bottom button isn't the softest in the market, but it is not in anyway difficult to fire.
The whole mod itself has a near unbeatable quality to price ratio.

For the price I'd be willing to work that pinky out. :p

I had a QZI, it's nice, it hits very hard. The only knock is that it's big for the battery size. If that doesn't bother you, it's a great hybrid and it comes with a 510 cap so you can use it as a normal mech too.

As for the rest, I have had a lot of things and most them are good or good with a little work. What's best for you depends on what your priorities are...I can tell you the EA is a solid simply built mod and the finish holds up well. It has a floating pin and the machining is fantastic. I can't tell you that a telescoping mod with a pinky button is what you want.
