Need to update my Spinner and Protank

Hi,

I am currently using two different Vision Spinners (900mah and 1600mah). Both are variable voltage. I have paired the spinners with the Kanger2 Mini protank.

I vape at about 4.3v. I use 1.8ohm or 2.2ohm coils. I have been happy with the result so far.

I am not interested in a big old mod or anything. I like the pen-like style.

I bought an Aerotank Mini that turned out to be a clone and it didn't work. Maybe it came with a bad clone coil? I don't know.

Any suggestions on updating the mini protank 2 and the Spinner? There are just way too many products and I have no clue where to start. The short life of the Kanger colils has been pretty annoying. I read they have better coils now for the Protank 3.

Anyway, thanks for any input on this! :)

I don't know of many ego size batteries besides the spinners and twists. If I were to choose one with the best best features it would probably be the innokin itaste VV v4. It has a decent battery life and can fire up to 15 watts with a decent coil resistance. It has an OLED screen, so if your into simplicity it kind of flashy. It also has squared edges as opposed to being a completely round ego battery.

As for the atomizer I'm not too sure, but check out the vaping hardware clearomizer sub forum for some suggestions. Always buy from a reputable seller too.

Good luck.

An iTaste SVD II is a good tube-style mod with good features. It isn't really a pen-style as compared to a tube style.

A year or so ago, box mods were going mainstream. Sales were/are due to being gripped in a hand with a topper sticking above.. Compact and capable.

As to a topper, the Nautilus mini is well liked, as I read...

I would consider smaller box mods. Many more options.

The pen-style "eGo" type batteries haven't really advanced much in the last couple of years. There likely won't be any added battery life or added features to what you already use.

The Innokin VV3 or VV4 mentioned previously is a viable step up, with both variable voltage and variable wattage, with LED view screen, and the ability to continue to vape it while it charges (USB pass thru ability). It is only about 800 mAh, but it retains the pocket-friendly pen style size of your eGo Spinners. Nice thing about the flat sides is it won't roll away when set down.

With a slightly larger form factor, the iLeaf iStick is a regulated variable voltage/variable wattage mod which is still very pocket-friendly. these have become extremely popular as of late. Power output options vary by model: 10, 20, 30, and 50 watt versions. Built-in voltage and resistance meters, LED screen, and a USB charging cord like your Spinners.

Another popular option is the MVP. Available in version 2 and 3 (for more power), its the big brother box mod to the Innokin VV3 and 4. Up to 2 - 3 days on a charge, pass thru charging ability, voltage-resistance meters, LED screen.

For an easy to use clearomizer tank, look for air flow control and ability for replaceable coils. I recommend the Aspire Nautilus Mini.

I'll throw a vote out there for a GS Air tank. I've got 5 now. Best coil life I've come across as well. I get about 2 weeks (15ml give or take) on average with any juice I've used. And if you're inclined, the heads can be rebuilt pretty easily. For about $10, they're hard to beat, in my opinion. If you're wanting to keep the ego batteries, maybe give one of these tanks a shot before buying a bigger mod that you're not sure you want...

OK, now I am interested in shopping for an Eleaf iStick to go with the GS air. evape.us is out of 30W. I saw a 20W or 50W.

I like a throat hit and have not needed to go over 4.3V to get a hit with the Protank II and Spinner. Would a 20W do?

If not, it looks like sweet-vapes has the 30W for $4 more.

It also seems that you can charge these via wall or USB (computer)

Interesting how I wanted a pen style only and am now looking at a box. LOL

20W is fine unless you want to subohm. I love my 20W form factor and battery life. It pushes kanger dual coils with ease. I never even go above 8 watts but I'm not much of a big cloud or big flavor chaser. I vape like I smoked. Relaxed and daily maintenance style.

Unless you plan on going sub ohm, a 20W will do everything you need it to.

You may want to take a look at the kanger genitank mini. Inexpensive and the airflow control works great. Kanger dual coils keep getting cheaper and they're widely available. I can get 7-10 days out of the enclosed wick atomizers no problem.

Also, the genitank is identical to the aerotank but a budget version. Instead of solid stainless it's plated. I bought it to test it out and see if I liked it before buying the aerotank. The aspire tanks are excellent as well. The only reason I don't buy those is because my wife likes mini protank 3's and the mini genitank. They all use the same atomizers. It's just easier for us both to use the same coil replacements. I'm not a very picky vaper and don't need the best of the best or the latest and greatest even though I'm sure I would love Aspire tanks.

Everyone here recommends the Nautiluses except the one thread where someone complained about his and everyone agreed it's an overpriced, overrated piece of junk. They cost enough that for me they'd have to be good and there is so much suspect advice and things I purely disagree with I'll probably never try one. I am intrigued by the GS Air and also the Ego One tank, plus even the Subtank (I almost wish they didn't have the RBA section so I could settle for the Nano which doesn't have it).

There's lots of recommendations for batteries here, yet you can't use any more power with the topper you're using. Spinners are actually capable of about 15 watts and of driving anything suggested so far. There may be a reason to upgrade though, most of the better toppers require 510 thread as the one true standard, despite it being mechanically inferior. My Spinner clone doesn't use good enough metal for the 510 (smaller/charger) thread to hold up.

I like Ginny's style! From what you have right now, I would probably go for an MVP 20 watt and a Kanger Aerotank V2. There are several different coils you can use, they're all cheap, the MVP will last a while between charges and you have some wattage to play with. You could probably do that for around 60-70 bucks as opposed to $100 and have a sturdy, reliable set-up. There are subtanks and istick 50's.....but you don't really need to go there if you are happy with what you have so far and just want a little more.
