Received my protank 4 today. The airflow is just the same as the toptanks trying it with the clapton coil at 40w is just an awesome tank (its a Kanger what else we can expect) the first thing i did was trash away that junk usless driptip and put my old subtank's stainless driptip. I hate those delrin driptips kanger is including now they feel very uncomfortable with those line texture and the airflow in the driptip just mute the flavor. But meh just a driptip

My go to MTL tank is a Triton Mini using 1.8ohm nautilus coils. Top fill, no leaks and vapes as well as a nautilus mini for me.

lol good luck getting nautilus mini coils now bud.

appreciate the advice though everyone.

so I went with...

PICO KIT (stainless steel)
VAPORESSO CC .9 OHM COILS (they didn't have triton coils)

in addition to battery and 60 ml ejuice. and the vendor (vapenw) threw in a free juice and drip tip. all of this is high vg.

the ONLY place I found with in stock triton coils would've taken A WEEK to get to me, their customer service was ...., no SS for the PICO (had to have), etc. I believe it was VaporDNA? They seem legit for getting older coil and tanks though at least. Only 2 vendors I know will answer in-depth questions for you - Misthub (whose employee ...... me off the other day with a rather rude, random comment) or VapeNW. I can vouch for Misthub in the past (though their stock has dwindled). Both seem to have excellent customer service in my experience.

Anyway, I'm pleased with my purchase. Should be here hopefully Friday.

stainless I hated b/c your mouth left "residue" on it. but man it's so much better than delrin. SS is a ..... to clean, but something about it vapes well.

Ya the airflow options are a bit better for the protank 4. I was able to actually get a decent MTL on it. I don't like the filling as much though, compared to the toptank.

But since it sounds like you're leaning more toward MTL, honestly...I'd suggest just getting a Nautilus X (specifically with the 1.8 coils) It's just gonna give you that cig experience far better than something like the protank 4. The better option would be to get 2 tanks, one for MTL, and one for sub'ing. Obviously it just comes down to money though.

Right, exactly. If I can grab a Triton 2 (full, not mini)) would you suggest that over the Nautilus X? Or can multiple people give their opinion on that...

B/c my MELO 3 will take Triton coils, so that would make a CRAP ton of sense.

ALSO, since I DID get Vaporesso coils, someone mentioned the Vaporesso tank itself...

I don't have the Triton 2 full, but I do have the Triton 1 (my nightmare, but I hear the 2 is better) But I can speak to their larger 1.8 coils....they are good. But tended to flood a bit for me. This was many tanks ago, so it's very possible that it's better now, or that it was just the tank. Someone else can probably speak to this better.

And ya, since you already have the Melo, might as well give that a shot first. Some places you can just order one coil at a time, maybe it's worth just ordering a single Triton 1.8 coil and trying it out for cheap.

And I hate to rave too much about the Nautilus X, but I really do think it's the best MTL coil option on the market with the ucoil 1.8's and with the 4mil extender. I'm not a fan of Aspire at all...but I gotta give it to em on redeeming this tank.

As Phil Busardo often talks about, so much of what goes into a MTL isn't just airflow or the ohms, it really is a complicated amount of things that work together to give that ideal experience. So even though a coil like the 1.8 on a Triton will do the job on paper, it may just not do the job in a Melo. But who knows. Of course, it's also very possible that I could be turning into a snob, and all of this is close enough :)

lengthy response lol.

yea for me it's about cross-compatibility. I like having 2 tanks, but it'd be sweet to save money, simplify things, and have 2 tanks that can utilize the same damn coils, which is why I'm seriously considering the Triton 2 (v2...you may not have had that version's coils, idk). I've heard only good things about it, but your supposed leaking issue makes me a lil paranoid now, so thanks. ;.)

Does the Nautilus X take Triton coils (couldn't find out)?

I like to keep things simple stupid as my dad would say. (not calling names, just saying the phrase clearly). If I know 2 tanks take the same kind of coil that also eases the burden of stock availability in the future. Hopefully I really like the Vaporesso coils (heard they're good, glad to hear there apparently isn't ceramic contaminants from their coils/tanks) .

KISS is a good motto for everything... that's why I've stuck with kanger for now, all my tanks use the same premade coils and the same for the rbas... considering I'm married to a fellow geek who is a mechanic by trade, he has absolutely no interest beyond premade or the basics when it comes to vaping... for once I'm the one who is doing all the research and experimenting, but hey when it comes to the latest MB, yep he's still better than me.. for the moment... I need to rebuild my laptop right?! it's a need not a want... yeahhh

kanger is solid, minus their gross customer service. probably most versatile tanks on the market.

heh... I need some o rings for the toptanks... I refuse to deal with FT... kanger is only charging 1.80 for 30(5x6)... but a 25.00 shipping charge... no one has them except the two. *sigh*

freaking O-rings man. I was hella drunk the other day, and one of em flew off as I was disassembling my melo crap tank. had to get PLIERS b/c it was on so tight. impressively I was able to soberly change in a new o-ring lmao.

anyway, I feel the pain with that. finding replacements for original drip tips, tubes, and O-rings is like lord of the rings. damn quest.

every bloody site has subtank O-rings... but they're actually different for the one piece that I need... hey at least in lord of the rings, they had the ring from the start!

vaping is worse than cigarettes in that way. I ain't tryin to be damn engineer here. sadly there's too many small components and someone like you gets screwed. I probably would just bite the bullet and order from fastfraud.

damn (Not Appropriate) , chill. not my fault. lol. you said fubar, you're silly.

well you're SOL then. better pony up the cash for those O-rings, put your money where your mouth is...on your drip tip. bam. vape joke.

general intelligence would've led me to never order from them in the first place though. too many horror stories. lesson learned by you I guess. talk to kanger, (Not Appropriate).
