I've been looking for a mod and want to buy from someone that's making them out of the labor of love rather than mass production.

Maybe only being able to sell completed projects rather than made to order???? This way photos would be of the actual mod you're receiving and there could be variances which would allow for R&D improvements.

Also, when something goes wrong with an item I toss it in a bin and someday would like to donate these items to someone that needs parts. Not everyone can afford all the toys and it would be nice to not have to let others know that you can't afford to buy something. The problem with bartering is that some people do it for the love of the act rather than the need. LOL My mind is just thinking out lout here!

My point is... I want a mod, can't make it myself, don't have a lot of money and prefer something hand crafted.

I drop off clothes but I didn't make um LOL.

Can't comment much on this much til/if soldering improves hahaha I have goods and bad days. Make ten- one perfect....My mods cost a bizillion dollars! Really I have that much in it lol

Will you take a check? hehe

I ran across a nice Sharper Image personal fan that I forgot I had and thought about you! It would make a great mod! :thumb:

not to put a dampen on things but my opinion is...
it will not last long there will be a frenzy and it will get ugly.
But I think hoog is a thinking man and I like that about him.
I think if someone wants 50.00 for a mod the next guy will do it for 45.00
and so on and so forth.
I will not rush threw a mod to make money
its worth more to me to make a perfect mod then money.
BUT KUDOS TO HOOG AND JOKER FOR THE IDEA

Hi guys, thanks for the input..

Just want to remind everyone that it's just concept right now..

It does violate ecf policy unless you become a supplier or manufacturer which is totally understandable and I have to agree 100% with thier position on this..

Some people may be willing to take the leap to change to supplier status, others not, as there are a lot of limitations..

Just want to clearly state that we will not violate ecf policy for this to happen. We love our home here and don't want to jeopardize that..

There are other options that we are looking at also so it's definitely not a lost cause.

I think what will happen is us modders will not share any more ideas
and I like that about modding we work off each others ideas.

That's what irks me about some Modders..... as if they actually believe they are going to be the sole seller to every person that has stopped smoking and taken up vaping. Heh! And be able to supply all that it entails.... and keep everyone happy? Aint gonna happen folks!

Share the mods... make the mods... sell the mods if you wish. There are many facets to a truly good mod and many more facets to a truly modder.

If you build it.... they will come. (if they want it)

I need to look up what is so horrible about becoming a registered supplier that I see it discussed so much.

I like the idea of being able to offer mods to people who don't want to make their own, but I don't think the consignment method is really a workable solution.

If you don't mind taking on the responsibility, maybe you should just buy the mods directly from the makers and offer them for sale on your site. Work up a "retail" price for say, a 2AA box mod w/led and set a "wholesale" price that you'd pay to stock them. Offer a standard 30 day warranty and have an agreement in place with your "suppliers" to replace any defective units. To keep it simple, start with a handful of the most popular mod configurations and limit the options to things like atty connector and maybe led color.

Just a thought...

It sure could turn into a nightmare for you Hoog. Worse then that double headed pony hahaha

Wish ECF understood the nature beast which is modding to some of us. We do not mod to resell.. we mod because---> hey wonder hehehe and left with all the pieces. I might be considered a thrify modder...after the first couple mods...I now vape through it and know not to make so permanent. Otherwise I would have a bazillion mods all over the place hehe. My favs get permanent like Highlighter. I mean who knows.. if a Hitman Monster Pass-through is safe for anybody else LOL I like it!

Your idea is a neat one and I now see some popping up here and there just since this post! Even a PV auctions site too! Maybe you can reserve this type of thing for HEY I wanna see that modup close and personal hehehe vape and sell it yourself..I am sure most of us would do trades with ya hahaha..you always have something we need errrr DESIRE haha. Mods could be sold "as is" on your site all sales final!

Bad idea all the way around. For one, it will be a nightmare for you.

This idea seems more reasonable.

ecigauctions.com

I'm wondering who, exactly, is running that site. It keeps popping up in threads on ecf. I've checked it out 3 times in 3 days and the listing and selling fee's have gone up twice. The only contact info the site has is an email address? A bit shady IMO.

I'll stay away from that one.

Just an idea :

Could you possibly set up another thread on your site for auctions ?

That way people could list their own mod's for sale, they would pay a fee to you to list it when sold, and they would be responsible for any returns, shipping..all of that mess. They would describe and list pictures themselves.
And..have a feedback rating, like ebay does. It wouldnt necessarily have to be an " auction" per say...it could be a "buy it now" feature as well.

Just a thought.

Just wanted to add...i hope this really works somehow. I love the work of some of your posters here..and would love the opportunity to purchase a few of their works of art. I have arthritis in my hands and wrists..and thats the only reason I don't make them myself ( besides being clumsy as an ox). I just can't work on something this small...my hands won't cooperate.

I found out from a newletter from a vendor about the auction. They say it's a little buggie yet and their working out the kinks lol maybe they shouldn't have launched it yet?

Oh and hog what about that dollar buy idea from a long time ago..when checking out we can buy for a dollar..a surprise..all funds collected get given out to one person at the end of the month?? Or was that in a dream I had?? hehehe

CigTech is a highly respected vendor who has been around longer than 95% of the suppliers around here.

Where does any of that mention cigtechs (other than your last post). I don't see anything about them on the auction site that you posted that he was referring to. And if it is them that is running the auction site then number one why doesn't it say so on the site and number two why would you post it in a competing suppliers sub-forum to begin with?
