NEEDED: DSE905 switch modifcation

Has anyone come up with a switch modification to replace the faulty manufactured switch for the DSE905 V1/V2, other than a 12v/50ma tactile switch... I want something that will last..

My 2 cents is, since the V2 is sealed with plastic all around it, you are going to make a big mess trying to remove the switch and replace it. I would suspect hacking it to do so migh make it function worse rather than better in the end.
