Read up on some basics. Baditude got some great blogs about it:

If you're going the mech mod route, i'd suggest sony vtc4 or 5.
And if you're buying a mech mod a rebuildable such as kayfun is prefered. Since you can't raise or lower the wattage you will have to build your own coils to suit your vaping power needs.

An MVP2 for example can raise or lower the wattage/voltage and got built in short protection.
Remember that a mech mod got zero protection so you have to read up on how to use them properly.
I guess you could buy a variable wattage kick for the mech mod. That will give you basic protection and it gives a variable wattage function.

Cant decide on which one I want. I know Nemesis is a mech mod and the itaste is not.

How much do you want to spend? Getting into Mech Mods required not just the Mod, but also batteries, chargers, ohm meter, volt meter (or DMM), wire, wicking materials and many, many, many hours and days of reading. And then you need to get a topper. Most likely whatever you are using right now you will not find enjoyable running on a mech mod at 3.7-4.2 volts. Will be worse than running on an ego spinner because you will have no control over the voltage.

I would highly recommend the MVP. No muss, no fuss, battery will last for more than a day with moderate use. I will give you that the nemesis looks sexier, but I am a big believer in function over form. MVP just works. I am honestly not trying to impress anyone with what device I am using, so I am a big MVP fan and might not buy anything else ever.

As you are just stepping into the world of mods, I'm going to recommend the MVP 2. This is by far the best bag for your buck, and a very handy device to have to learn with. It will check ohms for you, adjust via voltage and adjust via watts. There is no need for a separate charger and batteries and it can go for days without a charge.

As you learn more, the MVP's purpose can vary. Since I've gone into rebuilding now, I use my MVP as a base to build my coils. I mount the coil on the atty, check the ohms with the MVP before firing, and if they check out I fire with the MVP to oxidize and set the shape of the coils without a need for a lighter or torch or even unscrewing the atty to put on another device. It's been my coil building station pretty much, even though I've moved on to other mods.

So 3.7-4.2V is the max?
For a mechanical mod yes.
Fully charged 4.2v and rather quickly goes down to about 3.9 and stays there for awhile.

So mechs is mostly for us who rebuild to our personal taste.
Yea if you can afford it, it sounds like a good plan to buy both. :)

Good batteries is a must, like sony vtc4/5
Nitecore i4 is a good charger, i've also heard alot of good things about xtar charger.

Nonsense.

My wife uses a 69 mod with a Kick and an iClear 30S tank. She doesn't rebuild coils at all. She doesn't need wires, ohm meters, volt meters, or any of that other junk because she uses standard, off the shelf coils in her iClear 30S tank and nothing else. All she needs is a charged battery and a tank full of juice.

Don't confuse a mech mod with a topper. The mech mod ends at the 510 connector, anything above that is purely optional and does NOT require you build your own anything. A mech mod is nothing more than a 510 terminal for your battery with an on/off switch.

How do you install a variable wattage kick?

Put that in the top of the tube below the top cap. The long metal post presses against the pin in the top of the mod and the battery presses against the bottom. You adjust the wattage by turning the dial in the blue box.

I have 2 MVP 2's and 1 Hcigar Nemesis Clone. I bought the MVP's from 101vapes.com. They have the best price I could find.

I bought the Nemi from Vape Royalty Offers HCigar Mods, Custom Bling Vapes, Custom Bling Mods, 3D Bling Vapes, HCigar Nemesis Mods. I read and watched a bunch of videos before purchasing the Nemi and the people at VapeRoyalty provided excellent customer service by answering my questions about the Nemi. I highly recommend them.

I love both the MVP's and the Nemi. The main reason I bought the nemi is because I'm just getting into DIY E-Juice and it makes it easy to taste test my mixes using only a few drops instead of filling a tank. There can be some difference in flavor between the Nemi and a tank, Nemi is stronger, but so far it's been very valuable in evaluating my mixes.

Like others have said, if you are just getting into Vaping be VERY carfeful with any Mech Mod. Make sure you totally understand how it works, the batteries, building proper coils. I had my Nemi for almost 2 weeks before I ever used it. Also be sure to clean the Mech mod with isopropyl alcohol before use.
