Yeah, do any of you have a way to go about reinsulating/resleeving the battery. I can't get ahold of the new battery at the moment and i still want to vape. I tried wrapping it with scotch tape only to have the battery not even fit.

It would take just as long to find a brick and mortar, or even a Home Depot/hardware store to get a new battery, then it would to reinsulate an unknown battery. Safer too. Any place that sells higher end flashlights should have suitable high drain, IMR batteries I think. Look for Sony VTC5's in green wrappers and AW IMR's in red wrappers with hologram stickers.

How long have you been vaping OP? Is this your first set up? I recommend using regulated devices for people just starting out. Offers more protection while you're learning.

I know what I'm doing, but i just am curious if anyone had this issue and how they went about fixing it. I just need to resleeve the battery with some heat shrink wrap. It'll be quick and easy.

I don't know. Heating shrink wrap around a battery doesn't seem all that safe for the average person to do. I'd rather leave that to the factories who do it. Heat + batteries doesn't seem all that safe to me. Maybe someone around here has done it before? Also, if you have the money and means to get heat shrink wrap, why not get another battery?

I used to vape on the small stuff such as an ego t and an ego ce-4 and I want a lot of vapor and flavor so i figured I would go on a journey and get myself into the modding stage so my friend sold me the nemesis clone he used to use and an old atomizer. It is my first mod setup though.

You sure about that? Battery safety is number one man.

Did your friend sell you an ohm meter and a volt meter? Also, the battery goes in positive end first. Positive towards your 510 connection and negative towards your button.

It's clear you do not. You reversed the battery, damaged the wrapping, tried to repair it with scotch tape, you only have one battery it would seem, do you have a ohm or multimeter, do you have an understanding of ohm's law... What about reverse polarity of a DC current as you try to vape with a reversed battery and you make contact with a ground?

Trying to repair a damage with tape is not advisable. Any other sharing wrap you find will be too thick more then likely.

And how well does this friend like you to not properly instruct you on usage and safety?

Here's the heat shrink tubing for 18650s from DealExtreme. I ordered it from them but it took weeks to get to me here in Canada. You must be able to get it from other suppliers too with faster shipping now that you know what it is.

Here's a tutorial on how to re-wrap a battery with heat shrink. Looks pretty straightforward to me.

The problem with this is it may not work and you might then have to order a better battery. You can buy a Sony VTC3 for $6.50 at Illumination Supply and they deliver quick. VTC4 and VTC5 are out of stock and more expensive.

You can get VTC4 at RTD Vapor for $9.50.

I totally agree with getting a couple of new batteries Tinkiegrrl, but only from known good suppliers, specially with those two examples. The VTC5's have been counterfeited twice now and AW batteries are probably counterfeited more than any other battery other than the xxxxfire. You also can't get these batteries at any hardware stores.
