What atomizer are you using? What resistance is it built with?

The ideal guess would be the mod has a higher resistance than the atomizer. Clean every connection of the mod and see how it goes. Keep us updated. (noalax works wonders as well as other conductive greases out there)

(and why is it called a rice pin??? did I miss something here?)

When I was still using a protank and nemisis clone, I had the coil short out. The whole mod got hot and actually burned a spot on the button and lock ring.

The copper ring is garbage. They throw it in there because the authentic has a short secondary copper spring. They are emulating that, is my best guess. I threw it out since it served no purpose. I tried to stretch it to make it a viable spring but no luck lol.

Hi all

I have a similar problem with my Hcigar nemesis clone but I don't think it's the same.

I clearly experienced a short circuit as the whole unit including my protank super heated in an instant when I fired the switch.

This only happened after I replaced the spring with magnets (I used 3 in order to stand the nemesis without autofiring). I tested a couple of times and all was fine. However, I decided to screw the switch a little tighter to the tube (even though it was sufficiently tight already). I then fired it and it instantly shorted.

After checking the battery and making sure it was safe, I removed a magnet so there is only 2. Rechecked and everything is fine again (although it's not sufficient to keep to nemesis from autofiring while standing). However, I tried to recreate the initial fault by further tightening the switch and was able to recreate the same short circuit fault again.

When I had springs I didn't have this issue and was able to over tighten the switch to the tube with no issue.

Is this an inherent problem with using magnets or am I just causing the problem with over tightening the base to the tube?

Just to add, the magnets I use are very brittle having had 2 break already and their diameter only just clears the base's centre tube. The magnets sit under the rice pin rather then around it (maybe this is the problem?)

Use 2 magnets and use the locking ring then stand the mod, theres a locking ring for the switch for a reason so you dont put the thing down and autofire it to oblivion.
