I think you should up your nicotine mgs. I think you should start at about 18mg or more to help with the cravings during your transition to vaping. It is good to have the lower mg on hand too, so you don't overdo it if you vape more often. I started on 18mg also and I was a pack and a half a day smoker of Marlboro reds. I did have a craving every once in a while, but nothing my e-cig could not handle easily!!
You will probably be more successful if you move up to a higher nic level...
Good Luck!!!!

Dont panic. You will find analogs stinking at last even if you go ahead with 16 mg. Just allow a little time to your body to adopt and dont fight with stinkies they always win. I found them bad after 4 hours of vaping with 24mg/ml liquid. but could smoke even if it doesnt taste as before but after a few days I could not smoke one even if I wanted to. stick to your Vaping device.

I would try going to 18mg juice, I was smoking just under a pack a day of Lambert & Butler Silvers when I was smoking, I got the 18mg and I never looked back. If the 18mg still fails you I would up it to 24mg, although you might want to lower the voltage a little if you have a VV battery, if not then go easy on it as it can deliver quite a throat hit.

Hi and welcome!

The transition to vaping can be very stressful. Cigarettes have been your friend. For me, they were there when I felt anxious, had to think something over, was out with friends, on the phone - I could always count on them. It was like ending a relationship I knew was bad for me, but it was familiar.

People quit smoking in their own time, so try not to compare yourself to others, it can make it more stressful. Even just cutting down on what you smoked is a big step forward. I started vaping before I found ECF, so I didn't know what level of nic to start at. I was a 1.5 PAD smoker, but picked 12mg since it seemed in the middle. My reasoning was that if I needed more nic I would vape more. It worked. I vaped like a freaking caterpillar, but I stopped smoking.

Another thing that helped was I didn't have any cigarettes in the house, so if I wanted one I would have to go buy it. By the time I could get my act together to go to the store, I had talked myself out of it. Other people feel more comfortable having a pack around, just so they know it's there if they need it; everyone is different.

Good luck on your journey. We're always here for you. :)

When I started to vape, I was down to my last pack of analogs, and just smoked an occasional one till the pack was gone. Didn't want to waste anything. lol. After they were gone, I haven't touched and analog, it's been almost 5 months now. No withdrawals, no cravings, no problems. Feel much better. And I've been smoking for 37 years or so. Started vapping with 18mg nic, then went with the 24mg nic juice. After I bought my Provari, I find I am getting to much nicotine, so my next juices are coming in at 18mg. I'm still experimenting with the pg/vg mix till I find my preference. 50/50 was good, 80/20, not so much. New batch is coming in at 65/35, then I'll try 35/65. I'm sure once I get my Russian rba and I-Atty genesis clone coiled and running I'll have to change up some more.

Hang in there scoville. I agree with the suggestions to increase the nicotine. You can always decrease it later if you want.

The main thing is that you have to like vaping more than you like smoking. If you can achieve that then you won't even want a cigarette. Try as many flavors as you can. Start a quest to find a juice (or a pre-filled cartomizer if that is what you're using) that blows your socks off. Something that makes you think "Man, this is WAY better than smoking".

Sampling a bunch of different flavors will keep you interested in vaping and you will almost certainly find a favorite or two along the way.

Best of luck to you.

there is nothing to be nervous about, unless you are putting undue pressure upon yourself to quit smoking by using ecigs. which would be crazy, to say that you HAVE to succeed, before youve even tried it?

i had a WONDERFUL experience making the switch, and there was ZERO pressure to do it. i was a committed smoker. i said hey lets give ecigs a try. i found that they were satisfying. i reasoned that since they were satisfying, it made more sense to switch to ecigs since theyre not as bad for you. made a little effort and never looked back. in no way was i gong to force anything. if i wasnt interested, i promise i would have kept smoking.

so theres nothing to be nervous about. try it. if you dont like it, dont use it. if youre like most people, youll find that hey i dont have ANY cravings for a cig, and these taste better! and dont make you feel like crap! and wont kill you! and dont stink! and you can do it indoors! and and and, the benefits continue to reveal themselves.

have fun with it, enjoy the ride =)

I used both until I smoked my last analog and kept going strictly with my E-Cig. That was Aug 29 and I haven't had an analog since. When I get the urge to buy a pack, I stop into my local store and pick up a new juice! It's cheaper and gives me the sensation that I've done something better for me. The urges will pass over time. Just get through each one at a time. I keep reminding myself that I'll feel less urges in a week....And I have!!

I smoked and vaped the first few days. I would have a stinky and then vaped in between stinkys only having one at the top of each hour. Before I knew it I was not wanting one at the top of the hour. I am on day 20 without a stinky at all.
Don't stress yourself out over it or you will find yourself wanting more stinkies then you were already smoking. Everyone needs to go at their own pace.

Good Luck

I took baby steps in the beginning also,, from 3 packs, to 2, to 1, to a half, to a few, to a couple, to none.
My nic levels were pretty excessive due to the cravings I was having, I started at 65 to 55,, the mixer was guessing I think,, got it down to 35 by adding some store bought liquid that was 24,, now I am using 24 and 18 strength juices from several different sites.
My goals are to get to the single digit nic levels if I can.. If I don't I am still doing myself a huge favor by not using the "stinkys"
3 months into this journey,,, coupkle of weeks with no,, that's "0" stinkys.. (love that name/description)
Keep fighting the good fight!!

Take one day at a time. I was lucky, I was able to stop from day one of vaping. You will find your sweet spot sooner than you think. The hardest thing for me was my routines. At certain times of the day or at certain places along the road driving I used to automatically light up. Once those habits changed it got easier and they do change. Sometimes without you even noticing it. Don't force other people's successes on yourself. Do what works for you.

I use mainly 12 mg liquid when I'm not at home - although sometimes I mix 12 and 24 if I'm at work and won't be able to vape much. I was a PAD smoker - American Spirit. I've been vaping for a little over a week and after the first few days haven't had an analog and haven't missed them. I keep 0 mg and 6 mg juice at home because I tend to sit and chain-vape in the evenings and don't need to higher levels.

I'm certainly no expert, but this is what works for me - I also think everyone has to figure out what works for them. My son just started vaping today and he's using 24 mg and hasn't had an analog yet today -

Good luck and keep trying until you find what works for you.

The beauty of vapping is that you can continue to enjoy things that one has had to give up by trying various flavors. For example, I haven't had a drink of alcohol for 20 years, but now, if I like, can enjoy the taste of whiskey vape. For ex ganja smokes who've no longer partake, but would love a taste of their favorite green there is vape juice like Whackey Tobacky, Stoned Smirff, and Super Skunk, just to name a few.. Also if you are a Chocoholic or a Candy addict, but shouldn't/can't indulge, there is a vape for you too!!! How exciting is that!! One can indulge in a bunch of vises without falling off the wagon. Got to love vapping.

Now if I can just find a Sex Vape. hmm maybe vape some Puss N Juice Vape? or some Big Orgasm Vape? Dang, going to have to do a search. lmao.

Hang in there, with the right pvd hooked up to the right rba, genesis, carto, clearo, tank, or mod... one is not giving up anything but bad health practices, without any stress withdrawals or cravings. You can have your cake and eat it too.
