Hi - I have been researching e cigs. I am a two pack a day smoker for 25 or so years. I love smoking but it has been slowing me down for a couple of years now. I have tried the patch and the gum and they haven't worked for me. I want to try vaping so I bought two different e cigs at the pharmacy.

Blu - tasted like dirty socks to me.

Cig2o - tastes great

I am making this low pressure but I would like to move on from smoking and think e cig may actually work to get me off of cigs. I will probably do both for awhile but you never know.

I am thinking about ordering the Volt starter kit I saw at Vapor 4 Life but was seeing something about the volt also being at another xite. I see there is a travel kit available with a PCC. I am going on the annual hunting trip the first of October and would like to vape since Hubby really doesn't like the smoke in the truck. He is nice about it but I know he doesn't really like it. So, I am thinking about trying the Volt starter kit and getting the travel kit if I like it. I'll have to charge it up in the truck.

I would like a system where I can order the filled cartridges or do the refillable. I need to stay simple to get me started as all of this info is too much for me.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Also, I would like to go with a company that has efficient shipping and service.

Is there something I am not thinking of?

PS I ordered some V2 disposables but it looks like it is going to take quite a few days to get them.

Hi, Lizzie, and welcome to the forum! I'm glad to hear that at least one of those disposable e-cigs satisfied you, which shows a great sign that you will be fairly surprised at how much more you will enjoy the Volt or any other e-cigs for that matter, because the disposables are not so great to use but at least they get some people to search for better alternatives. Since you want it to remain as easy as possible and sound like you want to start with something that looks like a real analog, I highly recommend the Volt for that type of setup. Later though after you constantly are charging the batteries and having to carry extra ones around to get you through the day, you will want to check into something that has a little bit of a stronger throat hit, more vapor, and all day battery life such as an EGO or KGO. But a Volt is great to get you going until you feel more at ease to experiment further. I would also recommend that you order a couple drip tips to use because it makes the vape taste even better, allows more flavor to go through the hole at the end into your mouth, and is just a more comfortable vape. Best of luck and please let us know how you are coming along in your vaping! :)

Hey Renolizzie, welcome to the ECF and congratulations on your big step. I would recommend the Volt from Smokeless Image. It is KR808 and you can use KR808's from other companies too and they will fit together. They also have very nice PCC's. Their shipping is fast and reliable.

As a follow-up to dragonbone's comment and my prior comment, you would need 808 drip tips to fit the Volt. I was wondering if they were 510's or 808's, but I guess they are 808's :)

The volt is a great kit and smokeless image is awesome customer service. They are going through a bit of a growth spurt right now, so they are hiring new employees to handle the extra business.

Vapor 4 Life is a similar system to the volt, but the Volt kit is cheaper in price and there is a 15% off coupon. The 78mm battery will last about 3-4 hours of moderate chain vaping. Smokeless image also has a promo once you get your kit. Go to their subforum, and under stickies, you will see a thread called "faces of volt". If you post a picture of yourself with your volt, they will send you a free battery, bottle of juice or pack of cartos. They also sell a larger ego style battery called the X2, which is compatible with the cartos and clearos for their small batteries as well as ego products like the Kanger T2.

Here is a video that may help you. It demonstrates the volt product line, shows you what you need to be successful no matter what you buy and also shows the X2. This way you can see the difference. Personally, I use the 78mm batteries when I'm n the road and the larger ego style X2 at home. I highly recommend paying the extra $1 to upgrade from the 65mm to the 78mm batteries. The 78mm gives you 50% more battery life.

Hi Renolizzie,
I'm a Volt vaper and love them. You can refill the cartomisers very easily and Smokeless Image have a video on their site showing how. I'd suggest getting a kit with 2 batteries, and recommend the 78mm. They are not actually very long, nice and slim, and last me a couple of hours of constant vaping. If you get the PCC you will always have one charged. You might want to try an auto and a manual battery. I prefer the manuals myself. They also have a fat batt - the X2, which is a bit bigger and good for at home. The difference with a fat batt is it lasts longer - a 900 mah should last you all day. Those are not as huge as they look - marker pen size really, and all the Volt stuff fits them. Could be good for long car trips.

Thanks for the great info, everyone.

Kiwivap - Does the fat battery fit into the PCC? Sounds like the fat battery might be the way to go.

No, the pcc is for the smaller batteries. It x2 last a long time so you really should need a pcc to charge it anyway. Plus it's a passthrough with a 5 1/2 foot cord. If you are at work, at home or in a car, you can plug it into a 1.5amp USB charger (not your computer USB) and vape without using battery life.

I like the fact that I can use the small batteries and the large ones with the same cartos/clearos.

There is a video on just the x2. Not sure if you saw it, but here is the link just in case you didn't.

Thanks for the help everyone!!!!!

I took the info from your video, Outlaw, and some of the suggestions from the others and I dove in a bought the Pro starter kit with the manual and the automatic 78 mm batteries. I went with the smooth sampler, a five pack of Country cartridges and a bottle of "555". I got the mega case PCC [oops. looks like I somehow accidentally got the slider PCC pack darn it]. Oh well on the charger. I can always get another one later if I successfully make the switch to vaping. I am going to need plenty of batteries for my 10 day camping trip! We'll see what I do next:)

Email them right away and PM imagine once you get 5 posts. She is usually on during the night. If you catch them before they ship, they will change out the slider for the mega. They are still playing catch up from a glitch with the upgrading of their system, some suggest doing both. Don't rely on the status that the website says. The status has been staying on "in processing", even though orders have been shipped.

I would send an email tonight with the order number. They usually check and respond to emails first thing in the morning before the phones open. (starting at 8am est is what i saw posted). I would also get 5 posts and pm IMAGINE on here tonight. She will probably see the PM before customer service sees the email. Might as well cover all your bases.

Again, they have been busy, so I can't guarantee they will see the messages before shipping, but it's worth the try
