I smoke Cheyenne Full Flavor Little Cigars. I want to switch to e-cigs and eventually quit, BUT I have no clue what to get to make sure I still get a good throat hit and the nicotine I need for right now. I have been on this site (E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings) checking out different products and reading reviews and have done a lot of reading on here and still cant seem to figure out what I should start with. I know that the little cigars are a bit harsher than even full flavored cigarettes and im worried that anything ill get will be too weak. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

You may actually be suprised. Nic levels can be pretty high from a lot of venders. Many people also find they cannot handle as much nic in an e-cig as in an analog. 24mg should be a good starting point if you want a strong kick. You can go up from there or down if needed.

A variable power device will also help. this allows adjustment to maximize flavor/throat hit for a given blend.

I recently picked up an eVic and all my regular flavors are considerably better now that I can control the end game.

Agree with Crxess, 24mg is a good start. My first week vaping was at 18, and wasn't enough.

While not smoking little cigars, I might as well have been. Due to exorbitant cig taxes in WA, for the last several years I'd been hand rolling a cut rate pipe tobacco, 20 to 30 times a day :)

Once I switched up to 24 mg, I haven't looked back.

Also agree on the variable part, although a cheaper entry to that would be a variable volt battery like the Vision Spinner or eGo Twist. I have two 1300 mAh Spinners and love them - although I did just pick up an Innokin itaste MVP, also a variable volt device, 2600 mAh, and a different form - it's a box mod, not a tube, which takes some adjustment

Being able to adjust the voltage / power level to fit the particular device and juice lets you alter the TH to suit. Just start with the lowest voltage and work up until it hits and tastes to your satisfaction. If you hit a coil with excessive current (i.e. too high a voltage for its resistance) you can burn it out in a hurry.

A cool fact to know is, even if a new vapor experiences harshness from inhaling vapor (which is actually quite normal until you get used to it), one doesn't need to "inhale" the vapor to gain benefit of the nicotine. Nicotine is absorbed from vapor differently than in tobacco smoke. It is absorbed in the mucous membranes of the mouth, throat, and nose.

Using an e-cig is not unlike smoking a cigar or pipe, since you don't normally inhale much of that. Long gentle 3-6 second draws into the mouth, hold it. You may inhale the vapor if you wish, or exhale it through both your nose and mouth.

In addition, blowing some of the vapor out your nose will assist you to "taste" your flavors. Our sense of smell has a lot to do with us being able to distinguish flavors, even with food. Being that our tongues have been damaged from years of smoking, blowing some vapor out the nose helps us to enjoy the flavor produced by our e-cigs.

I also agree that 24 mg of nicotine is an excellent starting point. And I would also suggest trying a few different flavor categories than you might think you want. Like bakery, sweet tobaccos, fruits, and even menthol. If you are looking for something to exactly replicate what you find in an analogue, you may be disappointed at first. But you may find something else that is surprisingly satisfying in the beginning. Your taste buds will change drastically, especially in the beginning, and the trick is to find something that satisfies enough to keep you away from the cigarettes/cigars.

Yup, I'd also have to say that 24mg is the sweet spot for a smoker. I'm down to half of that now but I remember when I got my first eGo kit that I started vaping in the early afternoon and only wanted 2 more cigs for the rest of the day. That would've been at least 15 on a regular day.

I think that would be fine even though you on smoke cigars atm.

Listen to Robin. (And if that's really Robin, who wouldn't? :p Of course, I'm not my vaping cat....)

It's also true that your tastes will change, as your taste buds recover. You may find a great tasting juice that, in a couple of months you look at and wonder why you bought it!

If you can find a local shop you can go in and taste test a variety of flavors, and get a few to start out with.

Is there a particular set of combinations I should be looking to try or just get a starter kit? I have been cking out the site I mentioned in my original post and they have ALL sorts of stuff. Its got everything from cartomizers to atomizers and tons of tobacco choices. I guess my question is, what is a good place to start in the sense of a kit or build-my-own? I dont really have a bunch of money to do trial and error and I really want to do this right from the outset.

Their "kits" seem a little high... you might want to check some of the other vendors listed under "forum suppliers", above.

At any rate, you need two batteries - one to use while the other charges. Be sure to consider variable voltage batteries. They let you adjust the voltage to suit the coil / juice combo sitting on top for the best hit.

I'd suggest a CE5/Stardust/CE4+ clearo, with long wicks and replaceable coils to start with, and I'm sure others will chime in with other types of delivery systems. (Vivi, etc.) For starters, I'd avoid tank systems - and I'm sure you'll get other voices on that, as well - as they are a bit more "fiddly."
