I'm not a heavy smoker. I usually go through a pack in three days. My cigs are kinda strong here, but I know 0,8mg is not considered strong in other countries.

I bought 1,2mg cartridges, thinking it would satisfy me quickly and then I would smoke less. I'm usually very weak for nicotine, and can get headaches, dizziness and low blood pressure easily with normal cigarettes. I thought that 1,2mg would make me dizzy enough to just smoke before bed, reducing my intake.

But I just can't stop vaping. I can keep the ecig in my mouth the whole day when I'm working at my computer. I even take very deep drags every time and hold the smoke in for a few seconds, so I can feel more satisfied. I even have a normal cig every once in a while, and it doesn't make me nauseous at all.

Should I get stronger e-liquid? I am smoking the wrong way?

While I don't usually advocate going up in nic strength, you might want to try a slightly stronger nicotine level. Or maybe a heavier mod, so you aren't inclined to keep in in your mouth all the time. I dunno. I guess when I first started, I vaped fairly often, but I did start off on 18mg juice. It wasn't until I got into rebuildables that I lowered my nic level, and in the past few months I've gone from 12mg to mostly 6mg and even some 3mg juices. This is over the 8 months that I've been vaping and fully cig free. I guess I probably vaped and smoked simultaneously for a month or two before I gave it up completely. (I only started vaping to quit smoking inside, with NO intentions of quitting altogether)

If you are still having a craving for real cigarettes, I would definitely recommend a higher nic. My tooter is the first thing I reach for when I get up and the last thing I put down before I go to sleep. I have gotten better at taking a shower without opening the door to take a vape. I'm ot kidding, I thought maybe I was vaping to much but I've never gotten sick or anything so I must be ok. You do not absorb as much nic with vaping as you do with cigarettes. I started out with 18mg and almost a year later I am still vaping 18. I really have no plans on changing. Good luck to you. :):vapor::)

Couple of things...

One, "they say" that you actually absorb most of the nicotine in vaping through the membranes in the mouth and nasal passages... so the deep lung hits are probably not especially helpful (though to be honest, I do the same thing when I feel the need for nicotine).

And, "they say" that you get a lot less nicotine from vaping than from a similar amount of smoking. So, it's not unusual to feel the need to do more. As much as I loved cigs, I could easily "overdo" by pounding 6 in an hour. I have never felt that I've had too much nic from vaping.

I've steadily dropped from 18 to 12 to 6; but, I do vape a lot more than I ever smoked.

I'd agree with Kollin that maybe you should up your dosage; but above all, don't worry too much about it if you vape more than you smoked. I think it's pretty normal.

I'm a vaping noob, so bear that in mind. I only smoked about 8-10 cigs a day, mostly while at work. The first juice I vaped was 18mg, but I found that it's too strong for my tastes. I do vape quite often... I wouldn't say "constantly", but when I'm home and the kids are in bed I have my rig close at hand.

I went down to 12 mg and that seems to be the sweet spot for me. I would suggest finding the nic level that satisfies your cravings, and then going down from there. If going up in strength takes away your desire for an analog, then by all means go for it... you can always go back down in your own time.

Welcome to the forum!

Vaping a lot is common. I vape more than I ever smoked... The nicotine In the vapor is not absorbed in the lungs hardly at all. It is absorbed in the mouth and membranes. You would get much more nic if you smoked it like a cigar. Also blowing out you nose gets even more. So try that and you'll probably get buzzed. Most do a combination, pull into mouth, hold, then short inhale exhale.

@hallowed
I had the same experience in the beginning and I settled at
12mg too.

I'm trying to hold the smoke in my mouth, then inhaling and then exhaling through my nose. I guess I'm on the right track, my tongue is tingling, it's kinda funny. I still feel like I can vape for hours, but I guess I feel more satisfied.

Thank you everybody! If this new technique doesn't work out I'll try the 1,8% e-liquid. You guys were really helpful. :laugh:
