Retired for 20 years. Smoked 2 packs-a-day of full flavor 100's for 60+ years. Fortunate to be alive and only have mild COPD. Last October I tried cigalikes and they were terrible and I did not think they would get me off analogs. My world was about to change dramatically. Last November my son sent be an Ego starter kit along with an Aspire ET-S bdc tank and 60 ml of RY4 juice.

On November 23, 2013 I fired up the Aspire and smoked my last analog. I was shocked that the Aspire ET-S gave me so much satisfaction that I NEVER had any desire for another analog. Life without cigarettes is great. vaping has become my hobby and I am obsessed with it. I have moved up to 3 MVP V2's, a Vamo V5, 3 EHPro Kayfun Lite Plus V2's, an Aspire Nautilus and 5 more Aspire ET-S tanks. Will soon be ordering an Aspire Nautilus Mini with the new BVC coil and a DNA 30 or 50 mod.

Well, as a newby I got my first post out of the way and look forward to sharing with and learning from all the wonderful folks at ECF.

Congrats on the success story! And welcome to ecf. Its a great community and i'm sure you will feel welcome here. Its funny how smoking was a habit and vaping is a hobby. I never researched new cigs to buy or cases to hold them in or shared with friends or joined forum groups for it..or took pictures of... Well you get the idea..

Keep it up! Vape strong and live long!

Welcome to the forum, Barryo! Congratulations on finally getting off of cigarettes and finding the world of vaping! I've seen unlimited amount of success stories on this forum and I know you will be another. I finally gave up a 40 year 1+ pad habit by vaping and with the help of the great people on ecf! Enjoy the journey :)

Welcome, Barryo, and congrats! :) You betcha you're "never too late" to vape OR find a facinating new and benefical occupation after retirement. After all, what else do we have to do? The information here is massive......and I'm a slow reader. :p

If you have a local vapers club or meets, please go. You'll enjoy. Also, join and support CASAA.org and write to your senators and representative, state and federal, that you enjoy this stuff. Lots of important political goings on now, and we've got to stop them from killing all things vaping!

Welcome Barryo! I am also from upstate NY but have moved to Arkansas. The cig-alikes didn't work for me after a few weeks. I got sick of constantly trying to keep them going and fooling with refilling them but did make me see how it could work with something not so fussy. I came back here after a couple years when my health declined and knew I had to quit or be tethered to O2 24/7. What a difference a few years made! My husband quit with me this time and neither of us has had a cigarette in almost 2 months.

It's a great group here, without them, I would not have known what else is available and wasted more money!
