New 510, funny taste

I received my new 510 in the mail yesterday and I'm trying to get used to it. I like it a lot- the weirdest thing is start/stopping, you know? Like there was a set stop point with analogs and this doesn't have it.

One little thing that concerns me is with the carts that come with the 510. They kind of almost have a grapey taste to them but I'm kind of nervous they may have gone off. I dripped some e-juice (chocolate) into it late last night but I still only really taste a taste like red wine.

I suppose my larger question is how you know when a liquid or cart is "bad." I'm a wee bit hypochondriacal about inhaling mold spores since I have a terrible immune system.

If you have a 510 or started with one, what were your starter carts like? Am I gonna die? Thanks in advance!

Just a note from another newb...

I'm pretty sure the "grapey" taste is the primer burning off. It took me about a day to get rid of it, but I vape very little right now because of other problems. (like, my battery lasted almost two days, and I'm still on my first cart... lol)

Now, the taste, at least, is fine. Better than analogs, for sure.

Sweet! I've been noticing the batteries last long, too. This is pretty awesome.

Where's Deposit, is that a real place? I live on Long Island but I've got a huge jones to move Upstate. I just don't want to make my mom sad.

Wow Ana.....Those 510 batteries are "lasting long" for you? For me I am lucky to get an hour at a time..LOL..The taste you are getting from the carts may be the primer(like the previous poster mentioned)or could be the filler material is burning on the atomizer.One suggestion would be to try "direct dripping" onto(into) the atomizer and removing the filler with just the tip on.Yoy will be amazed at the difference in taste and throat-hit...I am also assuming that you have a bottle of e-liquid besides the carts!Good Luck and Happy Vaping!The Wiz!

Well, if you vape like a "normal" person (whatever that is... lol) the batteries won't last this long, or so they say. And I screwed mine up to boot. I didn't charge for full 8 hours the first time, and I'm sure as I increase my vaping it'll be a pain. Gotta buy some new ones. Assuming I stay with this unit and with vaping in general.

Yes, Deposit is a real place, albeit a very small one. Just over a thousand people, one traffic light, that sort of thing. I like it though. Nice people, pretty surrounding, lots of horses, goats and cows. I used to be a big city girl - but I find it surprisingly relaxing nowadays. But, then, I'm a Druid. Nature is good, etc. It's about half an hour east of Binghamton.
