Got the 510 with extra attys' batteries, and hi juice, 24 and 26. Charged per directions, 8 hours, then 10 puffs, then another two hours. Worked great for about 15-20 puffs, but nothing after that.

Tried another battery, another atty, then added juice to the new cartridge. Again, maybe 10 puffs, but I have to see the vapor to even know I'm getting anything. Zero throat hit, zero feeling of smoking.

Started over, repeated all the steps. Same thing: works great for maybe 15 puffs then nothing. Tried new attys'--same thing. Oh, this is the 555 juice which I read was strong with high nic. [26]

I must be doing something wrong.

I don't think I get 15-20 puffs before adding more juice. Maybe 10-15 if I'm lucky, but I don't count them.

When the vapor starts to drop, I add more juice. If I've added more juice and still little vapor, I pull off the atty and make sure it's not covered in juice, then dry if it is.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong, you are just vaping the heck out of it.

10 puffs is a little lite, I would think.

How are you refilling?
I do it this way and usually get 20 decent pulls per cart.

using dry filler and cart, I remove filler with tweezers.. add 10 drops to cart, push filler back into cart and down into juice. I pull filler back up level with top of cart and add another 5-6 drops or until bubble forms on top. wipe excess off..
2 drops directly on atty coil and put the cart back on.

If you still are only getting 10 puffs then it could be that you are holding the manual battery too long so you can get really good pulls on an atty that isnt broken in yet.

give it some more time, they take a lil while to break in.

One of the members here has a perfect intro guide to the 510. Like a bible, really. Tells ya EVERYTHING you need to know about your 510. I think her name is Kristen.

Really good tips Ragman, and great info from DC2. Many thanks! I was using one method from some place on this forum. [I have been reading it for weeks] I use a coffee 'stir' stick to push the filler to one side, then drip down that 'slot'. It kinda works, but I didn't realize you can take the filler out. Makes sense.

I don't care for all the flavored juices, and want a tobacco taste, and feeling, which is why I chose 555 and Hilton. [from another forum tip]

I would love to buy filler! Seems like buying cartridges is a huge waste of money if I have several tips already and prefer the juice. I will look for them, unless somebody has a link.

And the manual button became second nature after a few uses. I don't even think about it.

thanks all

Strange, I seem to get mine to last all day. I just got the 510 using the stock carts and get around at least 30-40 good hits throughout a day(I smoke pretty light though), when I hit though I always get a huge puff of steam. I usually don't have to put any in the cart until before I go to bed for the next day, am I doing something wrong lol? How do I know when a cart is finished just when there is no more steam?

If you only take a drag or two now and then, you'll have no problems.
If you want to sit down and have a "cigarette break" type of experience, then you will.

Ah, well I do kind of have a "cigarette break" on my breaks at work, I will puff on it for about 5 minutes like I did analogs. Of course that is just at work, then at home I take just a few puffs every few hours.

I have found with factory carts, if you hit too many times quickly you can dry the end of the stuffing though there is more fluid in the cart.Wicking takes time and sometimes the cart just needs a break so the fluid can resaturate the dry stuffing. All fluids are not created equal, some are thicker than others and wick more slowly. Many of the cart mods in the forum will help with this issue.

And the top of your cartridge doesn't get dry?
And you don't start to get a plastic sort of burnt taste?

You must have some sort of magic the rest of us keep searching for!

Ditto, except for the few puffs every few hours at home part... I pretty much vape like I'm on a cigarette break every half hour..sometimes a bit more.

I agree that a cart mod is the way to go..as well as all liquids not being made equal...I myself am using juice from nhaler and have replaced the filler with blue foam (not the plug, or slug or whatever variant eclypse is up to now) just simply cut the foam 1/4 inch wide and an inch long and snipped the corners a bit on the one end and slid it into the cart to replace the poly filler.

Not getting any of that here..just making sure that the atty doesn't get too terribly hot..I keep a finger at the base of the atty and if it starts getting too hot I slow my vaping down a little..

On a side note today I wasn't getting much vapor production out of one of my 510s today..was sort of weird..tightening up the connection between atty and battery took care of that..thought maybe the connection might have been a little dirty so cleaned that..and nope just needed the connection to be a little tighter...
