Well, here it is. I got the aerotank today and I must say it is quite an improvement over the protank 2. I didn't get the Nautilis because I am generally pretty clumsy with my mod and I didn't want the glass to break. Whats nice is that the 510 connection is sealed so you no longer get condensation on the 510 connection and have to wipe it off every once in a while. The coils are okay, but hard (at least for me) to rebuild because of the deeper cup. I'd honestly just recommend using a protank 2 coil to rebuild, which surprisingly is compatible. IMO it looks great on my magneto even though it has a stainless finish. The mouthpiece no longer has wobble, and has a better feel on your lips. The air control is okay. Generally I just run the thing wide open as I like an airy draw. Many people complain about the air control ring not being secure and easy to move around, but I guess my mod is a bit wider at the top which makes it hard to accidentally touch. The only thing I truly have gripes with is the stupid coil design, its the same thing as the other protanks, which makes it prone to flooding. Still, for the price, its great. I rebuilt it with a 1.3 single coil and it works beautifully. If you're looking for an increase in vapor production over the other protanks, then this isn't for you. If you want better airflow, a sealed connection, improved build quality, a nicer finish, then this is what you're looking for. Overall, I'd give the aerotank a 7 or 8 out of ten, simply because they are still using these coils which sit in the ejuice and are very prone to flooding.

tl;dr pretty good tank, still uses crappy kanger coils, but overall definitely an improvement over the older kanger products (except for vapor production) :D

nice review I was thinking about getting it but I ended up getting the nautilus cause I was afraid of all the problems all the pts had even though the air flow was to help thoes problems once again nice.review :)

well good choice, I would have gotten it but the rebuild process is kind of complicated and I like tinkering with these things, not to mention I'm worried I'd break the Nautilus.

@Runningw235

Yeah I've definitely considered it too, but the performance gain is probably not that great and it seems to be a lot more fragile than the protank. I'll probably wait for the next revision before I decide to spend money on it :p

My Aero has been going strong for almost 3 weeks. After I started doing custom coils with cotton the thing has been flawless. Flavor, vapor, performance have all been outstanding. I know the Nautilus is a similar option, but I think I like the Aero more for a few reasons… not as much glass, easier coil/wick builds and price. Also you can find from a number of vendors and/or Ebay Stainless Steel replacement or plastic tanks for the Aero.

It has been in my rotation with my Kayfun and Forge RDA and vaping has been great with its addition!

Just wanted to add a note about the Aero. The airflow controller is spring loaded, which helps it stay in place at the setting you choose. Some spin more freely when you first get them like the controller is just thrown onto the threads. The more you use the controller it will break in and the spring will work correctly and actually stay at the setting you choose. Took mine about a week or so, not sure about others.

Hi everyone,
I have been reading your posts for a while and they have helped alot. Recently I purchased an aerotank and am using it on my kamry k100. Also recently switched to mechanical mod. I have noticed that with the dual coil set up on the aerotank it takes a little while to begin to vape as the juice needs to heat up?( using kanger dual coils) also this morning while trying to vape i noticed the base of my mod was getting very hot. I unscrewed the bottom where the battery is and notcied hat it was very hot and was beginning to melt onto the spring gasket. I am running an 18360 battery with this tank. has anyone else had somthing similar happen? if not is there a better battery to get or a solution to prevent the battery from blowing up or overheating. it sucks. had to switch over to a single coil also from kanger wich seems to work o.k. but would like to be able to use double as well. thanks again.---j

Hi.

I thought the K100 was a mechanical mod. (??)
Do you mean 18350? in which case, how good is your battery?

I can't see many dual coil atomizers working well on anything but a fresh battery (4.1v). Even then, you won't get a good vape for long.

As I mentioned in another AeroTank thread ... I have been trying various voltages applied to my new AeroTank. Seems like about 4.5v is the sweet spot. Very good vapor production and good taste.

There will be a big problem if the Aerotank is used with a non-adjustable voltage Mechanical Mod, and that is not enough voltage to make the AeroTank work well. The standard 3.7v just isn't enough at all.

The only fix that I know of for people wanting to use the Aerotank on a Mechanical Mod is to buy "The Kick" power regulator and install it on top of your 18500 battery and insert both the Kick and the battery into your 18650 tube This will alow you to adjust the voltage to match the AeroTank (again, you will need about 4.5v).

The airflow control ring doesn't seem spring loaded on mine...the ring spins pretty much freely and easily moves up or down when brushed up against anything. Other than that, the tank is great. I also got a airflow valve for my Protank 2, which is a big improvement, but I like the dual coil head on the Aero a little better.

As a quick fix for the spinning airflow ring, I slapped one of the spare o-rings that came with the Protank below the ring, which helps it stay in place. Before that, I tried a little blue loctite, which didn't really work.

I use an Aero on my Nemesis and it vapes great at 8.5 watts all day long with an 18650 battery.

Are you sure about the spring...maybe mine just came missing it as it doesn't stay put unless fully open or closed. Luckily for me I only like it fully open. I much prefer my Nautilus though.
