Hello,
I've been on here for over 8 years but haven't visited for over 5. I'm still using an old style and I'm finally looking for something new (mostly because I cant find replacements anymore). I use a Kanger Tech Protank II with an ego battery. I know I know, so outdated. Basically I want something small, easy to care for, and I heard that the newer models make it so you don't need as much nicotine in the juice (I still use 18 or 24 mgs). Any suggestions to start (over) would be appreciated.

Welcome to the friendly bunch :)

Something like the Drag Baby by Voopoo may suit you.......Here's my recent review. Depending on the coils you choose it will suit an mtl or a dl vaping style. I reviewed it here...

There are so many choices available today that the decision on what to recommend to you is overwhelming. Is there a vape shop within easy driving distance from you? Seeing and holding vape gear in your hand really helps to determine what you will be comfortable with.

The type of battery device (ciga-like, pod mo, pen or Ego style, internal battery mod, external battery mod) will determine the size and form factor of the vape setup and how long the device can be used between battery charges.

The juice attachment (the part that holds the eliquid and makes the vapor) is what sets all of the e-cigarettes apart. Basically there are two types:

MTL (mouth to lung) atomizers that have a restrictive air draw. Also use high ohm coils and lower wattage settings. Produce a cooler vape.

DTL (direct to lung) atomizers have an airier air draw. Use low ohm (sub-ohm) coils and higher wattage settings. Produce a warmer vape and significantly more vapor than a MTL attachment.

I recently won an Innokin Z-Biip in a contest and I've been using it a month now.... and I'm absolutely in love... it's sturdy, SO easy to deal with, has an audible low battery warning, the battery life is amazing and coil life is 2 weeks on the Z-Plex3D coils.. and flavor for days.. just awesome.

I find myself reaching for it above anything else I have out on my table, and that's saying something.

So I give it my honest recommendation for a new device for you..

Welcome to ECF!

The newer devices that your probably hearing about is high power, sub ohm tanks. These push out more vapor , thus go through much more juice because of the lower ohms and higher power, but they require a different draw. Because these tanks run at higher wattages, they require more airflow and this requires a different draw. When you inhale more vapor, you can reduce the nic, but vape more juice at the same time. Your use to tight airflow, mtl, but if you switched to these newer tanks, you would most likely have to switch to a direct to lung inhale because of the more open draw. If you have been successful, probably sticking to what has worked might be best. A nautilus tank imo would be a good choice for a tank, as for a battery or mod, perhaps an eleaf istick or pico....
