Confused. This stuff is so overwhelming, I don't even want to get into it. I wish there was a 10 minute video explaining everything. It's a nightmare.

So I'm contemplating getting this.

X-POWER 900c Vaporizer Starter Kit

It says prefilled. But prefilled with what? That's what I'm wondering.
I'm also wondering if I need atomizers or cartomizers?

X-POWER 650/900 Blank Cartomizers

Then there are drip tips, batteries. AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I'll get there, just eager to get started and I don't do well reading endless stuff. I like pictures / video.

Kevin, The videos that Sugar and Spice linked are the ones that got me started. I watched them over and over and over. Then, I figured, jeez, if she can do it and make it look easy, surely I can do it. I bookmarked the videos for reference and referred to them again after I got my starter kit. Sometimes, ya just gotta jump in and go for it. Jump in, you'll be glad you did!!! I quit smoking analogs (regular, tobacco cigs) immediately and never looked back.
Come here for more info and ask all the questions you have. This is the most friendly, helpful and supportive group of people I've ever met!! Go for it!! :vapor:

Welcome to ECF and vaping.....now relax :D

It's a process just like smoking was....bum a friends brand, try a menthol, clove and then bang!!! you find your love.

Vaping will be similar and you'll probably try a few things - cig like, mods, 510, 901, 801, cartos, etc...

Pace yourself and your budget, don't kick yourself for mistakes (older mods become trophies) and use ECF for Q/A and to find good vendors.

Good luck!

Hi kevinjames,

The videos did the trick for me too. I spent countless hours looking all over the place reading and reading and reading. Thought my eyes would start bleeding or my brain would explode from al the data, lol. MistressNomads videos did in 10 minutes what I had such a hard time trying to absorb over the course of a week.
Stick with the basic's to get started. Try not to overwhelm yourself with too much variety, which can be a very daunting task in and of itself. You'll have all the time in the world once you find your magic comfort zone.
Oh, and one morre thing, laugh. Laugh at the big tobacco giants that will no longer be getting your hard earned cheddar.

Philip Morris can suck on this!

No - as your first ecig I recommend you not buy any fat battery ecig that requires an adapter to use 510 stuff. The vast majority of stuff for fat-battery models is 510 stuff.

If you want something that looks similar and is 510 threaded, then buy the original Ego or its most popular clone

Look at the Riva 510 and the Egos at Liberty-Flights.com and first press the 20% off in the upper left of the front page. AFter you press that 20% off, the price are displayed 20% lower and that makes the Riva 510 lite bundle under $30 and an Ego about $10 more. Riva is a popular clone of the Ego and Ego is the original fat battery ecig manufactured by the original manufacturer of 510. Also look at the Riva 510 carto bundle if it is in stock (if the carto bundle doesn't include atomizers too then you would need to buy a couple of atomizers for dripping to test juices). NOTE - Riva is the easiest to buy because it doesn't have different part sizes.

And with it I recommend you buy the following
Boge soft cap 510 cartomizers
Boge soft cap low resistance 510 cartomizers (hotter ones)
A delrin or plastic 510 drip tip (for dripping on atomizer or can be used as a mouthpiece on carto)
ELiquid - not the greatest eliquid at hardware vendors but you need some to start - get 30ml and get a small amount of that higher and a small amount lower than what you think you need
If you chose the Riva carto bundle, buy a couple of 510 atomizers & one pack blank cartridges

optional
- if you bought the Riva Lite Bundle and want a decorative cone that will fit over cartomizers, buy a single Riva 901 cone (those cones are shorter and fit the 510 Riva)
- get a button protector from the EGo batteries section

So I guess I need to get some cartomizers too,

I have to agree with the mouse, 510 connector is the way to go for a first PV it allows for so much more variety in accessories. The eGo isn't a bad Price there I would go with it and if you are in a hurry I would keep your initial purchase simple get a PV some cartomizers for it and some juice then do more research and see what else you may be interested in as far as accessories go.

Cartomizers are very easy to fill just remove the top drip juice into the batting until it looks slushy on top and vape away.

Kevin.

I was lucky that I didn't do too much research before starting. I would say stick with the cartomizer option. It eliminates a step in the process. It isn't the greatest. But it's an easy way to start. Try a 510 with cartomizer kit. In my opinion the ego is more of a Vaper and less like an electronic cigarette. My Npro looks like a cig and is very simar to the 510's.

901's are longer and I haven't seen the with cartomizers. Get used to the vape first. Then go playing around with the high end or more serious stuff. It took me two weeks before I was ready to mess around filling my own carts.

Hope that helps. And I'm not bashing the ego. I hear it's great, but it just looks freaking big man.

Yeah this stuff is complicated. I have no idea what the difference is between e-cig and vaper. I want to get some good stuff. I have to quit smoking and don't want to buy this one and then upgrade. I want to get all the best stuff and go with it once and just buy the liquid and catomizers as needed. So what do you guys think is the best option? Nicotine seems to have minimal effect on me. I did the 15mg patches yesterday and lasted 8 hours. Was going out of my mind. 8 hour craving basically.

Back to the smokes, so I'm eager to get this going, but don't want a 1/2 assed setup only to buy again. I got money now, but it doesn't come around often. Wife wants me to quit smoking so I can buy whatever I need now, but then it will be a while till I have the money again. I spend a lot on guitars and musical equipment so we're sort of broke after this purchase.

Thanks

My 2 cents...

Same deal here but I went OCD and was reading volumes of information...and OPINIONS which really clouded everything because if you look enough you will find raves and bashes of everything out there. I tried several and read up on them all before buying (was online till the wee hours many nights in a row trying to sort through everything!)

I decided to go simple and high quality...I bought the Bloog MaxxFusion (an 808 system) and am thrilled. Several battery options depending on what size you want, the batts have a circuit to hit as full on the last hit on a charge as it did the first, the carts are simple, meant to be filled, and the flavors are killer (RY4 is incredible). The mini lasts WAY longer than I expected...almost half a day of pretty decent vaping on a batt (comes w/ 2) and the charger case even tells you the cig charge and the case's battery charge (as it is a portable charger as well and will re-up 3-4 batts before needing to recharge the case). Customer service was killer.

It wasnt the cheapest, but there are discounts out there and I do believe in 'you get what you pay for'...and I really feel I did...and I read SO many stories of folks buying this or that and basically having wasted money as it didnt work out, so I wanted to make sure I bought something wouldn't end up on the swap page. The system is great for home and for travel, super convenient, and works great.

I will add that I am NOT discounting or bashing any other products, I am just passing on my research and experience hoping to help. And for what its worth, I haven't had a single puff of an analog since opening my BMF! After 20+ yrs of smoking!

Bottom line, dont let the mind blow scare you away...pick what works for you and do it! Throw away the analogs! Besides the obvious benefit of vaping, it truly is an enjoyable experience!!! I almost procrastinated due to overload of opts/info and I am SO glad I finally made a move...I really, truly believe I will make it this time and actually enjoy it!

Good luck and check back with what you do and how it goes!

I'm not saying you should buy the xp900. But i have one and it works beautifully. The batteries are big (900) and last me over 24 hours everytime. I get good throat hit and vapor. I really can't fault it. I bought the xp900 (which has an attomizer and seperate cartridge) compared to the xp900c (which has a cartomizer - an atomizer and cartridge in one).
The cartridges hold a lot of liquid (12 drops) which lasts me a long time (8-10 hours). It is a well made e cig.

The other posters are saying get something with a 510 thread as they are better catered for when you need replacements or add ons or extras. There is an adaptor to convert it to a 510 thread that costs about £3.00 tops.

I'm not saying buy the xp900. I'm just saying that i have one and it's very good.

Here's my 2 cents. If a 15mg patch didn't satisfy the cravings you will definately need to get some 24mg juice. Most of the prefilled cartos that come with kits come in 16mg, so make sure you get some blank cart or cartos to fill and some 24mg juice. I can tell you that I have shopped with litecigusa and they are excellent. I got my 808 kit, pcc, blank cartos, and juice from them and it came faster than I thought it would with regular (cheapest) shipping.

Which ever kit you get make sure you order juice at 24mg and blank carts or cartos. I was a pack a day smoker of marlboro 100's and the 16mg left me with cravings.

I think you'll be pretty happy with that order. you got a good mix of 18mg and 24 mg juices and people here say good things about the EGO. I think the regular 510 just wouldn't have the battery power you would like and the 808 might not have the kick you want to get you off analogs. I'm happy with my 808 but I can see why people go with the Ego. Only you can tell which is the best pv for you.

You'll have to post again after you receive it and have given it a good go.

Watching the previous video, linked in this thread. . I'm still confused as to the difference between atomizer and cartomizer. I thought cartomizers lasted longer. She says no.

Cartomizer (1 piece) hold about 0.7ml of juice. They last me half a day, or a little less, depending on how much I am vaping. Atomizers and Cartridges go together (2 pieces) and............. personally, I hate them. LOL! I can never get them to not taste like burned filler after a few hits. My friend loves cartridges, but she refills waaaay more often than I do.

Cartomizer have the atomizer built in.
Cartridges require an atomizer to attached to it and the battery.

Try both ways as a pack of Boge cartomizers aren't that expensive. *scratch that...I see you have the MEGAs up there so you are good to go.

You still need to have a few atomizers (I keep at least 3 and your kit probably has 1 or 2 in it) on hand for dripping to test flavors. You do not want to fill up a carto (especially a mega one) or cartridge with juice that you absolutely hate and cant vape.

It will all make way more sense to you when you get the pv in your hands. It did for me anyway. I was as clueless as you are.

I have a Riva 510, which is the clone of the eGo.

I think you will be happy with that starter kit.
