I am also very new. Sometimes it is hard to relate when you do not have an e-cig in hand. Once you are able to decide on a model it should be a little bit easier to understand because u can look at and hold your own for a reference point. I joined last week after buying a mall keosk cig and am using that to compare to other peoples posts in order to upgrade to a better version. Good luck with your purchace!!

Can I make a suggestion for quitting?

Rather than finish off those 2 packs and go "cold turkey", try to stick with the e-cig. Then, if it's not enough, go for an analog. Mixing both will help you wean yourself off the analogs (my thoughts). And then there isn't that built in pressure of "I'm on e-cigs, I need a cig NOWWWWWWWWWWWWW" type thing.

It took 3 weeks for my taste buds to started tasting again. Flavors that I enjoyed as a smoker, I find that I do not enjoy them any longer. I was a HUGE Mountain Dew fan while smoking, but now......yuck!

Some juices also need to steep for a few days for the flavor to really come out.

Backwoods Brew has good juice. Keep steeping in mind though.

Yeah that's what I read, that the flavors get better in a couple weeks. It's just a matter of brainwashing myself to a new addiction. Maybe my logic is flawed, I ought to perhaps listen to some of what you folks are recommending. But the fact is if I continue smoking I might as well quit music. It's killing my voice and my energy. My primary reason for quitting is the energy. At 40 I can't handle another 40 years of this, if I make it that long anyhow. F cigarettes.

Well I think the stuff tastes horrible. But then my brain is brainwashed into thinking regular cigarettes taste good even though my conscious mind knows otherwise. To me they all taste the same, disgusting. But crap. I took one hit today and I coughed my ... off for 35 minutes. I guess it was too big. Packed a whallop too. See, when I quit cigs in the past for a couple days or whatever, the patch does nothing, gum nothing, lozenges nothing, snus, nothing.

So regardless of the lack of flavor these things seem to have I'm hoping that when my last 2 packs of ANALOGS as you guys call them, LOL, are gone, the e-smoke, vaping will provide enough nicotine to where I'm not ready to put my fist through the wall like when I try to quit cold turkey.

I was hoping that the flavors would actually be noticable, however they all just seem to taste like plastic smoke really. Maybe the back woods flavors will be better. I know I must be missing something as I read the reviews for some of this stuff and folks seem to be nuts over it. I don't get it.

I got these with my initial order.

hckillavanilla-0002 High Caliber Killa' Vanilla - 24mg X High
1 $5.95 $5.95
hcredwhite-0001 High Caliber Red & White - 18mg High
1 $5.95 $5.95
555 555/T5 Liquid
[ Strength:24mg X High] 1 $4.50 $4.50
brandyliq Brandy/Bandi Liquid
[ Strength:24mg X High]

I ordered a bunch from the back woods guy or whatever his name is.

Once you get a flavor you like and have more time to fool with your pv, you'll be fine.

I never intended to quit when I started vaping. I just did it to cut down and to keep my Mom company because she had to quit. Eventually I just liked vaping better than smoking. Don't pressure yourself. Vaping should be enjoyable- and it will be with a little time. Good luck and if you have any questions, just ask.

Yeah this stuff is complicated. I have no idea what the difference is between e-cig and vaper. I want to get some good stuff. I have to quit smoking and don't want to buy this one and then upgrade. I want to get all the best stuff and go with it once and just buy the liquid and catomizers as needed. So what do you guys think is the best option? Nicotine seems to have minimal effect on me. I did the 15mg patches yesterday and lasted 8 hours. Was going out of my mind. 8 hour craving basically.

Back to the smokes, so I'm eager to get this going, but don't want a 1/2 assed setup only to buy again. I got money now, but it doesn't come around often. Wife wants me to quit smoking so I can buy whatever I need now, but then it will be a while till I have the money again. I spend a lot on guitars and musical equipment so we're sort of broke after this purchase.

Thanks

As another newbie who just went through this, this is my advice:

You have to decide if you want the "looks like a fake cigarette" option or not. If you are hung up on it looking like a cigarette that really narrows your options. I decided against the fake cigarette look just because they are smaller. And because they are smaller they have smaller batteries. Which may need to be charged every 2 to 3 hours depending on how much you use it. Of all things I didn't want a battery charging hassle while I was trying to sort out all the other stuff. You don't want to run out of battery power in the middle of work day, have nowhere to charge, and get frustrated while you are trying to work this into and around your lifestyle And personally, I really didn't care that it had to look like a cigarette.

After looking at the options I did go with the Joye eGo setup. Sure, it's bigger than the fake cigarette models, but IMO it looks a lot larger in images than it really is. Yes, it is too heavy/large to just have it dangling from your mouth. The battery run time is very long. You're talking 2+ days instead of 2+ hours.

I ordered from Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store.

which has an eGo setup including 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, 2 atomizer covers, a USB charger that also includes an AC adapter and a 5 pack of pre-filled cartridges. Right now the site is showing it only available in white for that setup at $45.00. I ordered it in stainless. Email vicki from the site if you are interested in the stainless model as the availability of the stainless set seems to have come and gone and come over the week.

It also has "push a button to operate" manual batteries. It just seemed simpler and hassle free to go with the manual batteries, rather than the autos that turn on when you inhale. As a newbie I don't regret that decision either.

Free shipping starts at $59.00 at Cignot and by the time you add on some liquids and extra carts you will hit that price point easily.

I was getting hung up on all the "do I want plain carts or cartomizers?" and everything else too. My advice would be to just get a basic kit like this - which includes two of all the important stuff - and get extra plain cartridges to start. That turned out to be plenty of hardware for me. I would forget about the passthroughs and cartomizers verus cartridges and everything else with the first order. You will have enough to deal with just adapting to the changeover from cigarettes to vaping and figuring out the starter technology. Don't pile too much hardware on the newbie process. There is a learning curve to this and the extras can come later.

After I decided on the eGo as my hardware, honestly the far harder part was figuring out what liquids to buy and in what nicotine strengths. Get several small samples - you need to figure out the nicotine level you need and your likes and dislikes on the flavors. I would shoot for the cigarette flavors and not get too curious about the wild flavors options to start.

And with both the hardware and the liquids, if this works for you you will be going back to order more liquids and can consider more hardware at that time.

Lot's of vendors are good. Vicki at Cignot is great at responding to e-mails and helped me sort out questions about the liquids and any questions I had about compatible cartridges etc. before buying.

My newbie .02 Hope it helps.

Hi Kev,
hope you're doing alright there.

I was thinking about how much you wanna quit smoking. Sounds like you get real mad/crazy with the withdrawals. I'm the same.
It's nearly three weeks ago i "sparked up" my first e cig. I haven't had an analog since.
You can do this too.
You need to get liquid that has at least 24mg nicotine level. It will help you. You'll get a similar throat hit to when you were smoking. And a few tokes on your e cig will calm you down.

When i used to smoke i reckon i had a ... every 45 mins (on average) maybe an hour. With my e cig i'll chuff on it a few times every half hour maybe less. It's like having a ... that never goes out. I'll sit relaxing with my lap top on my lap and my e cig beside me and have a chugg on it every now and then. Keeps me well calm. I'm not too bothered about the taste to be honest. Just so long as i feel ok and can keep calm then everythings good.
After a few eeks you may want to start reducing the nicotine content. Or getting better flavours. But really you just want your e cig to support you while you wean yourself off of smoking.
THis can work for you. I have no doubt about that. You just gotta get your set up going right.

I've tried patches. And i've tried zyban. I've tried cold turkey. I've tried lozenges and an inhaler. I'm not going to knock these quitting aids but i didn't quite make them work for me.
This e cig is a winner. I don't even miss smoking. I found some tobacco in my van the other day along with some ... papers. I just threw it in the bin. I was only faintly tempted.

I'm breaking free. Still got a way to go yet. But im on the road.

Yes the taste aint real good. However. Go a couple of weeks with your e cig then try an analog.

Man. You wont believe what you used to fill your mouth and lungs with. They are soooo disgusting it's almost unbelievable. I had a couple of tokes on one of them funny ones that someone passed me. I thought...can't hurt. Wrong. I find it hard to believe now that tobacco ever tasted that way. After nearly three weeks (thats all) it tastes deeeeeeesgusting.

So if you're thinking these e cigs taste like ... then analogs will taste worse to you after a couple of weeks. Staggering !

I have watched all those videos. I watched the english guy too. Said to put 18 drops in at an angle, not in the center and spin every few drops.

Yeah. Ive never done the taryn spin with my carto fills, but it seems like a good method if you have a lanyard. I have used the condom method before, but I feel like dripping the drops in is just as efficient. I do sometimes flick mine like I'm shaking a thermometer.

The trick is to make sure they are full, no matter the method. You may over fill at first. I would personally rather overfill and have to clean up a little juice than under fill and risk ruining my carto.

And I almost always get 22 to 25 drops in a new carto.

Kevin,
18 drops is just a reference to how many drops the polyfil will hold.....did you fill it until its looks like a slushy? I have been doing this for 9 months, and if you don't want to take the advise of those you actually do it then why argue?
I, for one, feel like I pulling teeth with you as you seem not to believe us....so why even ask?

Hi Kevin,

I also purchased an eGo with Mega blank cartridges back in January not the cartomizer ones just empty carts with dry stuffing in the mouthpiece. All I do is drip my ejuice onto the stuffing and then insert the mouthpiece back into the atomizer which then screws back onto the battery. Mine came with pre-filled high strength tobacco flavored carts and man they tasted like .... + it kicked my .... cause the nic was too high, it was terrible. 4 mo later as of 4 days ago I tried my eGo again with Minty Menthol 12mg and I fell in love. I haven't had an analog in 4 days now.

Hang in there stick with it man until you find the eJuice flavor that is right for you. Most people do not like the Tobacco flavored Juice and go for sweeter, mintier or fruity. My Minty Menthol juice came from ecigexpress and now I've got fireball blast and waffle eJuice from Backwoods Brew. Vaping is now awesome for me and I cannot put my eGo down.

Hope this helps some

Thx
