So I ordered my self a eleaf 50w with a Kangertech subtank. Been using the sub ohm coil they supplyed for the past 2 days now and decided to try out the RBA.
I get it out of the box, load up the wicks, plug it in after giving it a soak in some juice and look down at my voltage settings nd watt settings and the OHM meter is at .00 and when i go to fire it says "no atomizer", I cleaned the pins made sure the eleaf's pin wasnt stuck. I got my old mech mod out and tryed it on it and it works. I tryed my brothers Kangertech subtank on my eleaf and it works, so i took off my RBA and inserted my normal coil, It works... so im confused on how come my RBA wont work on my Eleaf and reads no atomizer.

EDIT- I forgot to mention that i tryed to tighten the RBA and loosen it.

EDIT 2- tightended the lower pin on the RBA and the RBA also pushed in the pin on the kangertech subtank. I am not sure why my Eleaf wont read the RBA but everything else.

Edit 3- So i finally got my bro to lend me his RBA from his kit and my ELEAF still wont even read his RBA..

Check the bottom connector on th RBA section to make sure it is screwed in all the way. Also, with nothing screwed into the base of the sub tank you can push the contact pin in or out. Try pushing it back in as far as to make it flush with the 510 connector again if it is protruding at all. Hopefully it will make contact with the RBA base. Other than that it is hard to troubleshoot without having the device in hand. Hope this helps.

Hi Skinny and welcome!

Adjusting the center pin on the tank should help--but proceed with caution, you don't want to pull that pin out too far.

If nothing works, you can always get a couple of circuit board spacers from Madvapes--they work great at fixing all kinds of connectivity problems. Just drop one into the 510 well on your battery and your atty will make proper electrical contact.

It works on the mech.
Most mechs have adjustable center pin.

What you describe sounds like the classic case of center pin contact problems.
It is the reason that most mech come with adjustable center pin.

Unfortunately, most regulated mods still do not include this ability.

okay so what i find funny is, my kanger tech has a spring action connection point and so does my ELEAF 50w/
what i dont understand is why when i change to any of my other Coils on my kangertech base they all work. The conection is making it through. However the rba's are just not being read for some reason. I took my brothers true rms multimeter and the rba that came with duel coil, and it read 1.0 ohms on the meater.

Well if you have your brothers dmm, you should be able to do continuity checks to see exactly where the missing connectivity is.

Ill have to ask him XD he is the electrician, But I kinda got a feeling of what your sayin, screw the base in and the RBA and then check if there is even a connection between the pins and the eleaf?

Yup; they same way you check ohms, you check for 0 ohms where you are supposed to get 0 ohms between two point to check that they are connected.

Or with the battery in the mod, you check that you get the right volts at the spots you expect to get it. Example; with the tank top off, and the rba deck exposes, look for voltage on the positive pin; if no volage, take the rba head out, and check under it for the voltage; if there's no voltage there either, then the voltage isn't reaching the tank; if there is voltage there, then the problem is right there where the bottom of the rba head is supposed to contact the tank;.... or else the problem is inside the rba head itself.

Okay Okay, so i unscrewed the lower rba pin to see if it would make connection, so i did so, leaving it still snug with the oring. It made connection to the lower pin on the subtank base. The weird thing now is, why would it not work with the tank it was designed for.... did i get a faulty RBA with my kit? Also before hand i checked the ohms of the Duel coil setup that came with it and it read .7-.8 ohms and when pluged it into my box mod it read the same, however when i start it up i can hear a buzzing noise that isnt the coils heating up but more the sound of electrical current or something?

Not sure if it's the same sound as me on my ipv mini, but when I'm using the 0.5 ohms occ coil on my ipv mini at 15W to 25w, I get a buzzing (or clicking) sound in PWM mode. No sound when it's on DC-DC mode. Therfore, I guess it's the sound of the pulse generated or the voltage regulated by the mod.

The sound does not occur above 25.1W in PWM.
