Hi Guys,

Just signed up after coming across this forum. I been looking for them and eventually I ended up here.

Well this is why am here,
ok here I am getting old and trying hard to quit the one thing I am struggling to get off my back. I smoke a pack a day which is quite disgusting already. There are at least 2 futile attempts in a week to quit. Attempts are using made after a pack has been finished so I will resist buying a new pack and also leave my lighter at home. But soon after a few hours I have a new pack and Nee lighter. Now I maybe having close 50 lighters at work, and car. So I hope to make some friends here and get myself a EC and that should probably see me through. Oh yeah I even went to hypnotic treatment but apart from spending a few hundred the habit just stayed on...

So this first post is a start towards something special. I hope I get what am looking for here.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Winster. Glad to have you here!:)

Do you know anyone in SG that vapes and can hook you up with a supplier? Importing is not an option.

Check out this forum: SG Vapers. Make sure you read all the "stickies" as there are special rules you must follow when posting (in the SG forum) due to the sensitivity of vaping in SG.

You won't be able to ask where to buy hardware/juice in SG as your government monitors/reads ECF forum posts. It's all explained here => Newbies Q&A Thread. [PLEASE READ]
_______

If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below are some blog posts by ECF member @Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping.
Nicotine

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming (resistance under 1.0Ω) cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

eLiquid/Juice

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick. Often labeled just "Glycerine"

PG and VG are often used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio. Many juice vendors offer a range of different ratios as far as PG/VG

Hi Winster, lots of people on this forum tried lots of things, from patches, hypnotism to gum, sprays, you name it. Vaping works it truly does and it almost painless. Vaping reduces your desire to smoke by giving you something better; different but better. Most find that they will smoke less, when they vape. Eventually, you get to the point where the analogs just taste nasty. You might take a puff or two or three but then you put them out. Might take a week, or weeks or even months, but eventually you don't need to smoke anymore. Reading this forum is also helpful as we share stories of success when nothing worked before. Best of luck to you.

Between, does it matter if the ejuice has any nicotine or not. I mean if just need the pleasure of puffing away but without getting any nicotine out of it?. Rather trick your mind to think its like smoking a normal cigarette. Or does you body know sooner of later and demand for nicotine.

If you are a snoker tge cravings will come sooner or later.

It took a while buf i finally went nicotine free.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I do hope that you can get some equipment soon. Vaping will help you quit smoking, it did for me. I started out at 12mg nicotine and within 2 weeks I was off the cigarettes. Now I am down to 3mg nicotine and doing well. Soon I hope to go nicotine free.
Good luck

I smoked for over 30 years trying all kinds of ways to stop. Vaping has worked well for me, and I've now been off ~7 months. I will say that starting out, keeping your hardware simple is a good idea. You don't need to start right out with a big, expensive mod. This place is a great resource to learn about vaping, and good guidance to buying stuff that works without breaking the bank (OK, yes, you can spend tons, but better to do it after you're comfortable knowing what it is YOU like).

Good luck, and congrats on committing to getting off those cigs.
