i am also new, and was ready to post this exact problem. decided to read the forums first.....and found my answer. while i to purchased a BLU, i have mixed feelings  i know that it is not performing at high quality, but it did get my foot in the door. found it to be simple and non intimidating so i didn't get scared off. but now i am 5 week analog free and ready to vape with the grown-ups. lol. i am definitely looking into the EGO, thanks for all the great advice :)

I started with a (heaven forbid) Blu and a 510. The longer battery life of a 3.7 or 5v device is working fine for me. The least expensive I own is a simple box mod, it's not pretty but it does the job like a champ. I got it from Ken at boxmods.net simple black case with a 510 connector, takes a 14500 battery. Just my opinion, I just know when I started out I didn't find enough power in the regular "e-cigs" and I don't care what it looks like if it satisfies the craving. Hope this helps

Thanks to all that responded and helped me with my situation. It looks like I'm going with a 510. I've heard a lot of great things about it, watched a lot of videos and can't wait to try it.

I've given the eGo some thought, but am going to wait on that one. I figure I'm going to be vaping for quite a while and can move on and try that when the time is right.

A couple of you directed me to Cignot to purchase a Joye 510. The kit and pricing looks pretty decent.

Thanks again...I'm off to research dripping and so on...

...Just a quick update...

I used my Blu again today and had much better results. The same cartridge lasted at least a couple hours. It didn't have 'great' hits but was enough to keep me in line at work. I'm still not sure it's going to be enough for me in the long run.

Overall, it's an alright product. Will make an excellent back-up.

As far as the Blu goes, don't quit on it.
Go ahead and get the 510, awlays wise to have 2 or more setups anyway.
But the Blu is fine for a backup, and actually quite convenient for going out and about.

Have you gotten some eliquid yet?

When you get to refilling carts, use the PTB mod.
I have found that to be the best filler material for my Blu. It works great.

My 510 starter kit from cignot lasted @6 weeks, 2 batteries and 2 atomizers. As of this writing, they are all dead. Incredibly frustrating at the end there, having to recharge the 510 every 30 minutes or so.

I too would recommend getting the ego/tornado. You can purchase the ego at Janty with a 6 month warranty. You can purchase the tornado at totally wicked for a sale price of $60. Or you can purchase the parts individually at both of those and at cignot or healthcabin.net.

You also might try looking for an adaptor of some kind that will allow you to use your new parts with the blu stuff you already have but I'm not familiar with blu so don't really know if this is an option. There is a thread "my blu cig mod" on the new members section right now.

Also, a great listing on e-savuke.com / mods, will show you all the different kinds of PV's available, especially those with better battery power. Look under the "expert" section of this forum for the thread "rolls royce".

good luck

the 510 has the appeal of looking like a cig but the battery life is short.
the kr808 also is 2 piece and looks like a cig and is a good system.
the ego has a massive battery life and Cignot has amazing customer service
but it doesnt look like a cig.
I have had or owned all of them, I just ordered another Ego so I will have 2 sets just because I dont ever want to be without one :)

FYI my starter kit is still going strong :)
I went with a PT rather than a battery mod (the ego is pretty much a 510 battery mod, albeit an 'official' one) and I got a 5v one of those (from madvapes) as I spend more time at home than out :) Some people like the PCC for out n about and as others have said an Ego (or other mod, there are lots of them lol) will definitely give you longer 'walkabout time' than the standard batteries that come with a 510.
Glad to hear your Blu is performing a little better than before, there is something of a learning curve with ALL PV, so expect a 'running in' time for any of them. Once you 'get it' though, things should look a lot more rosy - then its just a question of finding the 'right' juices for YOU lol.
Keep in mind that the mainstay of all PV, the atty, tends to be rather a 'disposable' item. Many will die unexpectedly, for no apparent reason, (some sooner rather than later) some through user error (they are more delicate and fussy than they appear), and some through old age (many people get 4-5 months plus out of one atty). YMMV. Always have spares whatever model you get.
Happy vaping and come back with any questions.

I just bought myself a 510 from Cignot. I got one of the starter kits. I'm really expecting this to work out better than my previous vaporizer.

It comes with an extra battery and atty, and I guess I get to sample a couple different juices. I'm pretty excited. I don't know what their shipping is like...don't even know where it's shipping from.

Anyways, I can't wait.

Not only that, but your Blu is compatible with the 510 model.
So your Blue batteries can be used with the 510 atomizer and cartridges.

Those Blu batteries are still in play.
