Hi! I am so thankful for this forum. I have spent a lot of time reading and trying to understand before finally taking the plunge and joining. I think I'm ready to give vaping a real try because I'm finally ready to try and quit smoking. I first tried an ecig almost a year ago. My husband brought home a couple 1.8% OneJoys one day. He'd seen them in the gas station all the time and decided to buy them. I tried it and decided it was nice. I thought I could quit smoking with them. However, I noticed as I'd vape that it would make me feel awful - headache and just feeling very off. I wasn't even doing it constantly - I'd hit it once or twice an hour for maybe 6 hours out of the day. I immediately figured out that it was the nicotine and I was bummed because analogs just don't do that to me, and I'm a PAD smoker. I had him bring me home one this week and it was the same thing! Pounding headaches after leisurely vaping a couple times an hour. I do make sure to drink plenty of water too. Now from what I'm reading, you absorb less nic with vaping? Seems like I was absorbing more lol. I'm going to order juice soon and I'm conflicted. Everything I'm reading says to start out with more nic. I'm thinking less, maybe 12 and 6mg so I can have some variation. Is the 1.8% in OneJoy 18mg? That's probably too much if it makes me feel blah, right? Sorry for all the stupid questions. I feel so silly, but I want this to work, and I want it to be enjoyable.

I'm not going to comment on what strength of nicotine to get with your juices, but only wanted to mention that some people find that they are sensitive (headaches) to one of the two common ingredients in e-guice: pg. Juices commonly are mixed in a pg/vg mixture. Many juice vendors will customize your order by allowing you to pick a lower pg and higher vg mix, or a 100% vg juice. Just something to consider.

Hi Tortitude. Welcome to the ECF. You may be best to get yourself some 100% VG liquid(in various mg) and some 100% PG liquid(in various mg) and a few extra cartomizers/clearomizers(etc). This way you could help yourself narrow down What it is that you may be sensitive to. I would find a vendor that mixes liquids and pick a few small bottles of all the same flavor with the variances being the base(VG/PG) being the only diference. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Welcome indeed T0rtitude, i second what has been said here. Unfortunately it does take a bit of trial and error. I have found that I am much more sensitive to the PG liquids than the PG/VG mixes or VG liquids but i find that the PG works better in my devices so i kept dialing the nicotine down until i found a happy medium between mgs and TH. I am a chain vaper by the way. All the best and stick close to the forum, it is the best place around, dont be afraid to ask questions and send PMs. Cheers!

Lots to think about! I'm so thankful for the advice. It helps a lot. I think I'm going to start out with 25/75 and 12mg then experiment from there. I'll need to upgrade to a better system probably before I could try 100% vg. I ordered a cheapo battery just so I could start out trying juices lol. I will be getting some extra clearomizers when I order juice too.

I did some experimenting today and it turns out it's both the pg and nic. So I am going to try 100% vg and both 18 & 6mg. The 18 to satisfy any big nic cravings, 6 to chain vape in between. I really do feel loopy if I vape 18 more than twice an hour, but no headaches with vg, so yay. :) I'm attributing it to being sensitive to stimulants and having very weird smoking habits even for PAD. Yes, less is absorbed through vaping, but for me vaping gives much longer exposure times with the oral mucosa. I've never really inhaled tobacco. I quickly draw it in my mouth, quickly exhale. It never really enters my lungs. For me it's more about the habit than physical addiction. Anyway, I haven't had an analog since noon and I'm feeling fine. I'm confident once I'm all set up with proper supplies I will be able to kick analogs to the curb. I'm so excited! :)

One last quick update. :D Just wanted to thank everyone again for their suggestions. I picked up a Smoktech 900mAh ego passthrough batt and clearo today. It was pretty much all the smoke shop had so I took a chance. I also picked up a bottle of vanilla 11mg juice. Unfortunately it is pg. Don't care for the vanilla but overall it's loads better than the disposables. It vapes so nice. I don't think I'll even need to step up to a variable batt because this meets my needs. Now I just need to find tasty juice from somewhere with the proper nic & pg/vg ratio. Turns out I don't need much nic at all, which is awesome. I will probably step down to 6mg when I decide what/where to order juice. I have not touched an analog in over 24 hours. I'm still waiting on a 650mAh eGo with a clearo to come in the mail, so I will have a backup sometime this week. I should be set for a while, other than getting more clearos. :)

Tomorrow will be 1 week analog free! My first juice order came today. It tastes amazinggg. I've been suffering through this week with disgusting VG juice that tastes like burnt fake cappuccino (like the kind from machines in convenience stores). It was so bad that the other night I finally said to hell with it and stopped vaping. The husband is supposed to start vaping today too. Yayyy. So excited. :D I threw his ashtrays away this morning. I'm sure he will be thrilled when he finds out (not). Hahaha.

You don't have to inhale the vapor either Tort. Always better to use a lower nic level if it satisfies you. What ever keeps you off the cancer stix is a good thing... keep it up and good luck.
