New and have a silly question ......

Forst let me say, I am an ex smoker who misses smoking, and am new to this forum and e-smoking. Thank you to all of the 'elders' of this forum for showing me there was a safer, guilt free way to be able to continue one of my joys in life! My daughter is now happier as is my husband. I dont feel as if I am disappointing them anymore, and that means a lot! Thank you to all who post an deducated myself and my family!! But to the question ... Like I said, I am new. Just got my 901 yesterday but played with it much. Even though I am so into this thing and really got the hang of it and even played with filling my own cartridge and what-not, I have a question that I feel dumb for asking...
I work 911 response on an ambulance, so now and again, like today, it was drop and run (weather gets nice and people forget how to drive!!). So i tossed my 901 in my radio pocket not really thinking (thank you adrenaline), did my thing and carried out my call, then remembered my cig in my pocket. It does sit nicely horizontally in my pocket, i noticed, but here is my question : With a cartridge loaded, is there a wrong way to carry it? Could the atomizer get damaged if my cig is sitting verticle in my pocket for too long? My average call takes about an hour from start to finish, depending. I dont want to decrease the life of my atomizer or anything if it is not carried properly. Not all of my days are as bad as today, and I am able to disassemble and store properly if needed most of the time, but i am not sure about carrying and storage for the "person on the run'. Any advise? I am looking into carry cases and read a thread on different ideas, but the less bulky I have to carry the better. Is it OK to carry with a full cartridge?

Go figure, I can provide mobile life support to a living being but cant figure out how to carry my e cig!! Hmmmm. . . . (lol)

first no question is dumb! trust me i had lots of them when i started
i carry mine in pocket technicly thinking it could run fluid into the atomizer and eventually shorten the life. i would say leave the cart off if you remember or give the atomizer a good blow (lol) and let the fluid come out after being in you're pocket for a while

my only suggestions are to have the mouth piece be at the top of your pocket. OR as close to it as possible another idea is to have a bag you can drop it into to help cut back on dust and the like. also if you wnt to help extend the life of the atomiser is it always a good idea to discount it from battery. if it does not have a manual switch that way the pressure switch wont cook you atomiser when shock of other such stuff set it off. some units have a sensitive pressure switch

Gypsy--I carry mine battery down, but some say that the cartridge will leak down the atomizer and into the battery. I never have had an issue with that though--Others swear by taking the battery off which is not a bad idea. They have carrying cases for the 901 that are quite compact out there if you check around. As for hurting the atomizer--that is not going to happen, worst case is is it gets a little flooded and then all you do is blow it out though the battery end with the battery off--Hope that helps--Sun

Why would you carry it with the cartridge on the top? I would assume the juice with drip down into the atomizer this way and possibly contribute to clogging it.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Personally i think I'm going to get a case and carry mine disassembled.

Battery down would also seem like a possible waste of juice.

Such fast replies!! You guy are awesome!! I am on the search for the 'perfect case' and have researched some. I was just worried during my, as we call them 'oh sh**" calls, ...... car vs pole, 2 pediatric patients and one adult, helicopter called and on standby ....... we drop and go. Kid calls stink. Thats how my first full day with my e-cig went. After that call, it all went to crap. I was later worried about the life of my e-cig, wondering if the drop in my pocket would do it harm. The USB and ipod holder idea was really great! Thanks!!

I bought one of those hard plastic cases (the kind made to hold eyeglasses) at the Dollar Tree. Depending on the packaging your e-cig came with, and whether you still have it? My 901 came with a piece of foam in the box that was cut to fit the e-cig (when put together) plus a smaller cut-out in the foam for keeping the extra battery. I cut the foam to fit inside the eyeglass case and carry mine that way. It goes in my purse so the c-cig stays horizontal... and works great :) I think there is also enough room left in the "foam" to cut out a spot for a tiny liquid bottle and maybe even a spot for a spare atomizer, but I've been carrying them in another little make-up bag that I wasn't using.
