Hi all,

I'm new on the forum. I've been considering buying an e-cig for a while, and I was considering an intellicig EVO. There is a question I have. I wonder what is the best and safest way to carry an e-cig around. In your jeans pockets? In a bag pocket? Vertical or horizontal? Should I put it in some kind of box?
I'm worried about two things mainly:
- will the battery activate in my pocket?
- will the e-liquid leak out of the sig?
I know there's a charging/carrying case for EVOs, but I just want to test it for a while, and don't want to buy the whole set of accessories... any advice on how to carry an e-cig when you're out and about?

Thanks, cheers

I think Evo is a fairly weak ecig w/ tiny carts, like M401. And that's a ripoff price too for a 1-battery kit. If you want to buy an M401 then buy a manual M401 at MyPVSHop.com. It may keep you happy for up to a month and then you will most likely buy something else.

And yes - an automatic battery can turn on from wind or vibration. Autos are also more prone to getting killed by juice leaks.

I stick it in my pocket when I am out on the farm- have a USB case that I use for a few batts and carto's that I bring with me and throw in my purse or the car to go to town.

I do try to not sit ON the PV- I have a 510 and when I put it in my back pocket I try to take it out before I sit. or move it around when its in my front pocket.

And yes the juice can spill out of any cart (cart = cartridge that pushes on an atomizer). And even a manual can turn on in a pants pocket because the button could get pressed.

Store it cart down or to be safer take th ecart off and plug it up with the silicone cart plug. BTW prefilled carts are les likely to spell because they usually aren't filled very well. You'll get 3-6 cigarettes worth of drags out of a cart if you are lucky. You need eliquid.

Most people get annoyed with carts after a while so it's actually better to buy a model that has cartomizers easily available. I think a manual 510 with a cartomizer is a more satisfying combination.

I agree with dormouse on this. A 510 with a Boge cartomizer and some great juice would be the way to go. Cartomizers won't leak like cartridges do. Get a lanyard or a hard eyeglass case to carry it. Lanyards are nice to hide your PV down your shirt if the need arises. I vape at work and have to hide mine.

If you're going to get an EVO, I have no advice for you and can only wish you well.

If you're open to suggestions -- an automatic 808 with a standard cartomizer is fairly bulletproof. You can just put it into your shirt pocket. I can't speak to every instance everyone will have, but several of mine have been dropped, and other than a small dent, none of them are the worse for it.

Since the 808 uses a pressure switch instead of a microphone, it doesn't have the turn-on-at-odd-times problem that poorly designed systems have. Using a clearo makes it much more fragile. If you're going to drip, it'll be a hassle since you have to remove the carto from the battery for safety's sake (I've never seen why that's so popular -- a properly filled / proprely maintained carto supplies a great vape).

If a standard carto is going to leak, it's because it was overfilled, and you'll know about it when you attach it to the battery. A clearo can leak at any time if you juice is the type that eats the plastic or you bite too hard and crack the plastic.
Good luck!

Hello all,

thanks for all replies. In the meantime I got the new disposable e-cig from intellicig, it is expensive if compared with a normal kit, but I think it's a good one to try as it's not so expensive in absolute terms and hassle free. I got it today, and the feeling is allright. The packet says to store upright, although it does not say on which end -- I suppose the best way is the cart end. We'll see - if I get a puddle of nicotine in my drawer then it's the other way. ;)

I agree that in the medium run I will probably switch to a manual system. On the other hand, knowing myself, refilling seems too much of a hassle for me (I vape at work, thus I can't easily refill), so I will have to search for a good vendor that ships cheaply to Switzerland (we only get nicotine-free in this country, so I have to buy abroad).

I would say store upright means battery end down cart end up

Ok, here's one of the 1000 questions I have: wouldn't storing battery-down, cart-up make the liquid seep onto the atomizer and battery, possibly triggering unwanted activation?

I know I have a lot of questions -- bear patience. :) The info I find around this very same forum is often contradictory due to the large variety of models and technologies (let alone personal taste) and it's actually difficult to understand what's right.

Thanks for the welcome!
