I ordered a starter kit, three batteries and a USB passthrough, and some extra cartomizers from Green Smoke before I found this site. The order arrived Friday. From reading here I was expecting poor results. However, I've been very pleasantly shocked at how swimmingly things are going for me so, for now, I'm sticking with what is working for me while planning to take baby steps forward with better and more economical equipment and supplies.

From 2+ PAD habit I have yet to smoke a cigarette or felt anything I would describe as a craving for one. There is no feeling of deprivation or stress at all.

I prefer the Green Smoke flavors I've tried to cigarettes but would like to explore some other sweeter flavors as Green Smoke has a very limited selection. I've read that one can refill using the condom method but the Green Smoke cartridges don't come with the plastic things they call condoms that I see on YouTube. Where could I get some of these?

Alternatively, I've gotten the cap and ring out of the smoking end of the Green Smoke cartridge. The YouTube video I saw using this method looked messy and fiddly. Is there something I could purchase to make it easier and tidier?

Also, is there an adapter of any type that would allow me to use some sort of normal cartomizer such as a 510 that would work as well as the ones made by Green Smoke on my batteries? In looking online I've seen Green Smoke batteries described as being KR808D-2 or E9.

At this point I'm more interested in quality rather than price for juice. Are there some places better than others to try?

Reading here has been my support group for the last few days and has given me great confidence that I can give up cigarettes for good. A big thanks to everyone at ECF. I consider myself blessed to have found such a helpful, empathetic group of people.

My advise would be to find another brand of cartos that fit your batts and also have the removable silicon tips on the draw end. Not sure what type of connection GreenSmoke uses, but my guess would be either 808 or 510, those seem to be the most common. With the removable silicon tips all you have to do is pop the tip out, drop in about 20 drops of liquid (if dry or nearly dry), pop the tip back in and you're good to go! You don't even have to do the condom method, but many cartos you can get from other vendors will ship with the condoms already on them. If you contact GS customer service they should tell you what connection you use, then just search for "(their connection) cartomizers" and I'm sure you'll find something you like! Good luck!

HOPS, thanks so much for the advice and links. That will get me off to a good start. I didn't even know there were brands of liquids. I made the silly assumption that the vendors all made their own.

There is so much to learn and it doesn't take long for my brain to start screaming, "No more data," when trying to figure this all out. I feel like the kid in the corner wearing the dunce cap.

We all felt like that. I had never even seen an e-cig until I got here and ordered one. You'll be a pro in no time!

No prob! That's the beauty of this place, we all either are or are becoming vape-nerds (lol) and genuinely like helping each other out! Just keep in mind I'm a noob myself so don't take my word as law. Keep looking, asking, and learning!

I think you give pretty good advice! Most people that have been vaping for awhile almost forget what it was like when they started (it's all a blur to me:blink:) so it's more helpful from someone that just started too.

peraspera, once you have vaping nailed down, get some empty cartomizers and you can fill them yourself. You save some money doing this.

Or, just ask. Most people are happy to help. Glad you took so well to vaping. Who knew!

Hiya - I've used Greensmoke in the past. Just a couple of things. You may want to drip fill your cartos rather than use the condom method. Greensmoke batteries are not sealed - so if juice gets into them from the condom method of filling your batteries are fried.
They are not 808 or 510. They are a more obscure thread - E9. There are some sites that sell compatible cartomisers - I see some-one posted a link to one for you.

Caridwen, thanks for the links and encouragement. I ordered some of the empty cartomizers from the link HOPS posted as well as some needle bottles, blunt tip syringes, condoms and some juices. I'm very much looking forward to trying new flavors so I was happy to see that my package has already shipped.

HOPS, I very much appreciate the tank and clearomizer suggestions but I'm sticking to baby steps for the time being. My current strategy is to avoid being overwhelmed with coping with equipment and anything fiddly. Once, I am confident that I can refill my own cartomizers correctly I plan to do further equipment and juice exploring.

kiwivap, I am ever so grateful that you pointed out that condom filling might ruin my batteries. I think I will give the process a try as a learning experience. I will being careful to clean and thoroughly dry the end of the cartomizer and use the condom-filled ones on a single "sacrificial" battery. Vapor Kings has reasonably priced battery replacements should something go amiss. Also, I have three batteries as well as a passthrough so I can afford to lose one.

A huge thanks to everyone for your help. The generosity of this community is amazing!

YouTube - How to fill a cartomizer with the condom fill and spin is a great vid on condom fill! (posted from my iPad and noticed the "m" in the URL. If you are on PC and that link doesn't work, search "outlaw vaper condom fill" on YouTube... He's a Smokeless Image guy like me, but the method will work on any carto). Hope you're loving vaping as much as I am so far! Wonderful smoke-free world lol!!!

Absolutely my pleasure (to know I may have helped someone out!)!!! Just remember to pay it forward!!!

I have already started to pay what little I know forward with a couple of friends and relatives. I'm so happy and satisfied with my vaping experience that I'm going to have to watch myself lest I turn into an obnoxious vape zealot.

I wanted to report back to let everyone know I've been able to successfully refill both the Green Smoke and Vapor King replacement E-9 cartomizers. From looking at the YouTube videos I thought the condom method would be the easiest but using the blunt syringe or needle-tipped bottle was actually the easiest, by far, for me.

When using the condom method, I ended up with liquid oozing out between the cartomizer and condom as well as sneaking through the center tube no matter how careful I was trying to be. Between the mess and possible battery issues I won't be making any further attempts.

I had a pair of tweezers used for Swarovski crystal crafting similar to what is seen in this video,
How To Re-Fill Empty Green Smoke, E-9 Or E-8 Nicotine Cartridges - YouTube. I found the tweezers to be much more effective than a toothpick in getting the tops off the Green Smoke cartridges. The toothpick worked perfectly fine for the replacement Vapor King cartridges I purchased.

I am delighted that I will be able to now try out as many flavors as I like at considerably less expense than purchasing pre-filled cartridges in limited flavors from Green Smoke while I continue to educate myself before making my next equipment purchase. Now I feel like I have the luxury of the time I need to make a good decision before my next equipment shopping venture.

Again, many, many thanks to everyone for your generous help. There are really no words for how much I have come to appreciate this wonderful community.
