Hey everyone. This is my first post. Been lurking for about a month. Started vaping on Father's Day. Been a pack and a half smoker for 12 years and am 2 weeks with no cigarettes.
I started with a hcigar nemesis clone and a little over a month in and I am not at all happy with it. It has a striker clone atomizer on it. The button sucks and it gets hot in all different places. I clean, tighten it and make sure it's 100% but it's just no bueno for me. I am looking into getting a new clone but am not really sure which one to go with. I got my wife a stingray clone and it's pretty decent.
I do know a clone is a clone and is by perfect but I would like something decent with a little but of beef to it. Something that feels like its decent. Preferably something with a switch that's butter smooth.

What would your recommendations be. Would like to stay with a mechanical with a 18650 battery and 510 connector.

Been doing a ton of research on clones but can't narrow it down.

Thanks all in advance.

I just bought the KGO E-cig from Virginvapors.com and it's very smooth, has a button lock that you can use to turn on/off, hold button to take a hit, the button stays lit for an additional second after removing your finger to finish your hit. Overall, I got it last night and have been using it since. It hits smooth, produces a good amount of vapor and allows the flavor from my juice to come through.

The device does use a cartomizer, but it has what I think is a tank built around the cartomizer - has lines marking how many ML are in the tank compartment to show you your liquid. Very easy to use, very nice in my opinion. I am new to vaping after 2 weeks or so after switching from regular cigarettes and was using a Logic Pro rechargable e-cig from 711 before WHICH IS CRAP, and this is making my happy.

Not a pro obviously so not sure what mods, tanks, or atomizers are good.

My Hcigar Nemesis is the first mechanical mod I bought. I also did the Fat Daddy upgrade to the switch and contacts and it's been flawless since first using it. Even though I now run two Reos daily, my nemmy sees daily use too. I guess with clones, you take tor chance. 100 might be perfect, and 2 will have problems, but that can happen with a $200 original, too. If you want a hassle free mechanical, and your budget allows, go for a Reo. If intent on clones, try something and if it's no good, you are not out a lot of money. Food luck with your search. Oh, and welcome to the forum!

I second the Magneto; relatively cheap, good threading, magnetic switch, quality material, telescopic. Switch is very smooth at the price point, that is sure. Of course, if you are even a little handy, you could change out your current mod switch to a magnetic one, but that wouldn't guarantee smooth action. That's more a question of the overall machining.

Thanks everyone for the info and advise. I do have the magnets on my nemesis but the switch still irks me.
I am looking into
Magneto- only thing I'm not too sure of is the telescopic portion. Heard the threads are sub par and when set up in 18650 mode it almost has a slight crookedness to it.
Panzer- switch?
Sentinal- still looking for availability.
Those are the 3 that I'm considering.
I am somewhat on a budget. Not too bad but an original just isn't in the deck right now.
Thanks again and any other info is greatly appreciated.

I guess with most things on a reasonable price point you can have an issue. I bought mine at a brick and mortar so I paid $60, but they are cheaper online. That being said the threads were perfect on mine, and I was running sony VTC5 18650 batteries. The switch on it was fantastic. Anyway, I hope you find a good mech that makes you happy.

Thanks Newport. Yea I get that you get what you pay for. I can get past most things. I just it to function well and I think the magneto will be what I'm looking for. Thanks again.
