For a year and a half of vaping I have only tried Green Smoke, Blu cigs, and Logic (all high strength). I've never tried any of the e-liquid ones. I have heard liquid is generally better quality than cartridges and can save you alot more money. Right now I pay $20 every 4 days for 5 of the Logic cartridges or $15 for Green Smoke cartridges (Green seems to be going higher and higher in cost). They're both good quality but they don't seem to last me more than 24 hours. I'd like to start e-liquid. Any recommendations for a starter kit and is there anything I need to be wary of when choosing one? Any bad experiences with products you have purchased from tobacco shops? Thanks.

Hi Coop and welcome. I too started with Green Smoke--a long time ago. :)

First of all, you should buy some eilquid and refill your cartomizers--they can be refilled several times before they need to be discarded. You can find a compatible flavor (tobacco, chocolate, vanilla, mint), buy a bottle, open your cartomizer and drip about 1 ml--20 drops straight into the filler.

If you want to move onto bigger (sharpie size) batteries with clearomizers, I always recommend this kit:

http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

It's fully customizable so you can choose your batteries and your toppers. Just get some extra coil heads and some juice and you're golden.

Good luck!

I would recommend doing research on what you already have and figure out how and if you can refill it. As you do that, purchase something online. I bought an E Go C Twist 650 in a starter pack at a local vape shop and I feel like I got ripped off. But Im not going to get too upset because it is a local, gotta support the locals, I guess... I paid 60 dollars for just one C Twist 650 in the pack. The one in the link seems to be a good deal (two full sets for almost the same price). Good luck.

Someone more experienced needs to come up with a starter set-up for you. Seems like you need a larger clearomizer to hold more liquid since you go through 20 bucks every 4 days.. I think switching to mods/ batteries will cut your costs at least in half. (but try refilling first) save $$$

+1 for refilling the cartomizers. I started with a similar kit but couldn't justify spending the $15 on a pack of cartomizers, it was then I figured out I could just pop the end off, remove the rubber grommet and refill with eliquid. ALOT more cost effective and I also go better vapor and the ability to choose from a ton of flavors and strengths.

That only lasted about 2 weeks before I just bought a mech mod lol

Besides the ego style's, I always see ppl suggesting this for a good starter from the cigalikes.
iTaste 2.0 MVP Kit with iClear16
They can be had for cheaper

Look around and find something you like there are a ton of options out there

Welcome! I started with an Innokin Itaste VV V3 kit with iClear 16's. It's a great kit and easy to use. Variable voltage and wattage, puff counter, charges by USB. You can also use it while charging. I found mine on misthub.com for about $50 but if you have time I've seen them going for $30 to $35 at Fasttech (shipping is a few weeks). You can usually get 30ml for like $8-$15 online depending (MBV and ECBlends are probably the most affordable with good quality) and that'll last at least a week if not more.

Welcome to ECF. After refilling my cartos, I moved up to clearomizers on the 808's. Much better flavor and still cigarette size. Good luck!

I just started too. I went to a vap shop near me. I tried several before I decided. I also could sample the flavors which really helped me. I know I could go on line but I like to see what I'm getting. I just biught an e pipe today and like it as an at home thing. There are so many options as far as batteries etc. that for me I needed a store. Good luck
