Ok, this is day one for me of ecig. I chose V2. Are there better ones out there? I researched all of the popular ones like joy, greensmoke, blue and this seems like the better choice, but I'm not sure if this is enough to make me quit traditional cigs altogether. I purchased this kit also before I foudn this forum. I have questions.

First - when switching from trad. cigs to eCigs - did you experience a horrible hacking after "priming" the ecig and taking a normal drag? This alone makes me not want to use it when I'm craving a smoke. I thought the vapor would be no big deal...but it's something.

2nd - are there better choices out there than V2's or do you have to puff pretty good to get vapor off any ecig? I'm not really happy with the vapor production or the way it makes me choke - however the flavor of the menthols are refreshing and I'm trying to choke my way through this transitional period - as I'm sure I choked in the beginning of using trad. cigs. I just thought that water vapor wouldn't have this choking affect. I'm committed to making this work, but since I've just received this kit from V2 - I still am able to return it if you can make recommendations on a better product?

3rd - am I doing something wrong or is this normal after switching? I puff to get the vapor going before I take an inhale - and then I choke, I've tried takin smaller puffs - everything. I choke.

I need a 2 piece for sure. I love the easiness of popping on the cartridges. I need menthols at least, and interested in other flavors. I like the accessory selection of portable charging cases and hook up e-cigs. I'd like something I don't have to puff so hard on to "prime" and I'd really like to stop choking.

Any other recommendations to look into - or how to work through this transitional period? Thanks so much.

Sully, did you get automatic or manual battery? Manual would be better. Also.....if you paid more than say $35.00 for it, I'd say send it back if you can. I looked it up on youtube but I couldn't tell what it was. Here is a link to a couple of the most popular e-cigs out today....and they both cost roughly $35-$40 dollars. And the cartomizers cost about $8.00 for a box of 5. If you're paying much more than that, then I'd send it back if I could. I started with a Joye 510 and it's an awesome little work horse with tons of vapor. You can get one of them for $35.00 at Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store.. But before you order anything.....educate yourself read, read, read these forums. Go to the ECF Library and read, read, read. Here's a video made for people exactly like you who are just starting out and need some information: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-videos-newbies-particular-broke-newbies.html Others will come on here with more information. The 2 e-cigs in the video are really good. The KR808 is strictly a cartomizer system so it may be your cup of tea....those who use it love it. The 510 on the video can take either cartridges/attys or cartomizers......

Good luck. Don't buy anything else until you do more research.

Go do some reading then come back and ask away. We will help......just don't buy anything else until we all talk some more. Okay? We can absolutely get you going with something that will not only work, but will be GREAT for you. I'm very confident. We have all had to find our way just like you are.....and we're all happy we hung in there. After you get this first phase behind you, it's pretty easy sailing and TOTALLY worth it. I smoked for 40+ years and have totally quit. These e-cigs ARE what they're cracked up to be....you just have to find the best one for you or the best way to use it. We can help.

Ok - so this is what I've learned so far. I don't think I can do the whole re-filling myself - I'll F something up - ruin the battery - what not.

So I still need the disposable carts - great tasting, high vapor.

Ok - so now this is what I need to learn - which eCig has SMOOTH or SOFT throat hit and EASY DRAG? Like a traditional cig. - I saw on one of the newbie videos the Joy 510 has a soft throat hit, high vapor - but the thing that bothers me is the 3 piece filling thing and I don't know if that has an easy drag or not. One thing I've noticed is people dragging on e-cigs for a long time...that's not how I smoke traditional cigs. I take short drags.

I couldn't find the sticky note of proper inhale technique.

Thank you so much for being here. I've smoked about a pack a day for 15 years - I so want this to work for me. I just have to figure out which one is going to fit my style.
