New atty creates smoke without a cart

Hello fellow Vapors,

I am new to vaping having just received my 510 a few days ago. Very happy with it and the quick service of Health Cabin ( as many have mentioned before me ). Canada Post could use a bit of improvement though ;-)

Anyway to get to the topic at hand. I had just blown out my atty and screwed it back onto the passthrough. I got distracted and forgot to attach the cart to it and took a drag directly from the atty. There was vapor of-course since the atty was not completely free from juice.

But there was a lot of vapor so I thought I'd experiment a bit and continue puffing on the addy directly ( not inhaling ) to see if I could get the addy to burn off most if not all of the juice. I took about 10 puffs and there was still a lot of vapor. I though maybe there may be juice were the passthrough meets the addy but there was none.

I wondered if this was not vapor but maybe smoke from the atty burning. So I took my spare unopened new atty from the package and attached it to the passthrough. And there was again vapor/smoke.

So, maybe the manufacturer adds some kind of oil to new atty's when packaging and the smoke from the new atty was burning packaging oil.

So my question is.. Is this smoke or vapor? And if its smoke from a burning atty, that can't be good.

If another member could please try my experiment ( attach a new atty to their battery/passthrough without adding any juice or a cart ) and take a few drags and let me know if it generates smoke/vapor I'd really appreciate it.

Cheers

It's also possible that you're burning the wick inside the atty. If that's the case, you will most likely get a burned taste using any juice with that atty from now on.

I've never been able to do this. I've gotten the dry taste that is indicative of an atty without--or low-- on juice but I've never been able to recreate the "burnt" flavor some speak of and I am quite mean with my atomizers. I do a dry burn clean but have even tested an atty to see how long I could keep it "red" and after 20 seconds of full throttle heat it was still good to go. I let it cool popped on a cart and it was fine, taste and all. In fact, I think I'm still using that atty.

Then again I'm the odd guy out as I've never had an issue with an atomizer except for the one time I boiled an atty for 2 hours and it lost all the paint on it. It still works though, a bit weak and nasty looking but I've dubbed it "Trooper" *hug*:D
