am i mis-interpreting these charts?

seems like the AW2200 is the worst performer-- even lower than the AW2000, which is generally regarded worse than the AW1600 for mech mods staying above 3.7V.

That's what it looks like to me. It looks like the Samsungs and Sony are at the top.

Comparing 2000 to 2200 on the site listed above and then 1600 to 2000 on this site not straight forward. Battery test-review 18650 comparator

At 5 amps they do not show the same reading for the 2000. At 5 amps the 2200 is better than the 2000, my best guess is the 2200 drops from 4.2 to 4 faster than the 1600 but lasts longer down to 3.7

FB, thanks for the link to the battery comparator.
I see here a similar behaviour for AW1600 and AW2000.
The curve within the interesting range (4.2 - 3.7v) has slight advantages for AW2000 only for very low discharge.
For higher amperes, the AW1600 performs better, with the advantage growing with the discharge rate.
A similar behavioural difference I see for AW2200 and AW2000.
These similarities seem to be tributed to the max discharge of 10A (AW2000) versus the better 20A (AW2200) rsp. 24 A (AW1600).
Imho, the AW2200 has a discharge rate similar to AW1600, but with a better capacity than the AW2000.
People, who like the AW1600, will love the AW2200.
I (here in Germany) love, that I finally can get a good AW battery (the AW2000 didn't really spoil me).

I used to use the AW2000s back in my Provari days. For higher resistance coils, they are fine. I used to build my Provari coils no lower than about 1.3 ohms or so. I can't use them in my drippers or Reomizers because I normally build around .45 to .5 ohms, and the 10 amp CDR is simply too close for comfort. The 20 amps, afforded by the new AW2200s is sufficient, for me. The sacrifice of 4 amps CDR, between the 2200s and the 1600s doesn't matter for my builds. But the additional run time of the 2200s is significant, from my experience so far.

Here in Germany, we used to have a Reo Distributor, where I bought my first Reo.
They delivered the Reo with AW2000, that was the only 18650, they offered.
2011 was the time of 510 and 306 atomizers and the AW2000 performed quite well.

For those atties above 1.5 ohm, AW2000 was a good choice due to its higher capacity.
When switching to rbas, the AW2000 suddenly became 2nd choice and even was unusable for some setups.

So do we have a verdict on these for low res coils? I'm usually in the. 4~.5 range. Getting tired of some flaky performance from vtcs and want some new button tops.

That's about the ohm range I build. I'm finding that the new 2200s last about 1/2 to 3/4 ml longer than the 1600s before needing to be switched. I get about 4 ml of juice on a 1600 battery. About 4 1/2 to 4 3/4 ml on a 2200. I usually switch at about 3.65 volts.

I think you'll be impressed with the added useful life in the .5 range. By useful, I mean above 3.8 V. :)

Food for thought:

Tonight I did a quick voltage drop between the 2200 mah and the 1600 mah. Here's what I got when using my newest LP TRA grand and maintained contacts / batteries:

LP RM2 with 1.06 ohm coil:
1600mah 4.18v resting for weeks. 3.92v under load = 0.26 VD.
2200mah 4.19v resting for 2 days. 3.91v under load = 0.28 VD.

Odin with dual coils netting 0.54 ohms.
1600mah 4.18v resting for weeks. 3.70v under load = 0.48 VD.
2200mah 4.19v resting for 2 days. 3.65v under load = 0.54 VD.

In conclusion, the 1600mah AW IMR 18650 must have slightly less internal resistance - a 0.06v advantage to the 1600. Prolly barely perceptible but for those inquiring minds, now we know :)

thanks for posting the results. That would lead me to believe they would sit right between the 1600 and the 2000 on a test curve giving up some of the higher early voltage of the 1600 for longer life.

Sounds like a lot of Geek to me. I have two rules for the Batteries that go into my Reos - 1) Trust Rob. 2) Will it still charge, or is it dead ?
So... for those of us well versed in Rand McNally, the Eisenhower Interstate Freeway System, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations -
but maybe not so good with terms like Voltage Drop (lights go out ?), Discharge (sex ed), and other foreign languages...

I have two VV Grands that are my most used Home Vaping Devices. It has been a long time since I've even tried to go a full 5ml on a charge. More like 'constant rotation', off the charger and into the Mod while the others charge. Since two have died, and I'm rotating 6 batteries between two stacked battery Mods, It's time to buy more. I also have an 18490 woodie and a 14500 mini wood that probably could use an upgrade as well.
Since this thread has been a topic for Grand batteries, I might be in the wrong place. The "new" 18350 and the "new" 18490 are rated 100 mAh higher for a buck more. Is it worth it ? Or just stay with what works ? I really would like longer battery life for my VV Grands, but I really don't understand the specs at all...
Any assistance would be Appreciated, thanks.

I have the old 18350s but let me do a little math and answer your question about the new 18350s.

Ok....I have no idea. The fact is my 18350s are old but very little usage till recently so I see the new Woodvil come out will get all my attention so I really have no need for the new AWs. Im sure someone will take your question seriously and have a answer for you. ;)

Funny you should post this. I just got done reading about some counterfeit VTC5s which were Samsung 25Rs ....

New Counterfeit Vtc5 Batteries | Electronic Cigarettes Forum South Africa

interesting...

wasn't there a post with a link that compared the VTC5s to the Samsungs? i cant find it. (i can't even find the link to the charts i mentioned above)

i have a hazy memory that makes me think that the 25Rs are still the best for mechs, but i may be missing something

I have no idea what to make of that article I linked. It may not even be true. Just strange that they would feel cheated if 25Rs are better. Heck....I can tell a little difference in batteries but its not so much that any is waaaaaaaaaaay better than the next so I'm over it. :)
