New batteries needing serious draw

Don't really know if this is a noob question or not, but I thought I might luck out and find some answers here.

I just picked up a new 901b kit as a backup, and I put the batteries on to charge around lunch today. It's been about 8 hours since putting two of them on.

When I went to test them out and make sure they were kosher, I realized that it was taking a really serious pull to get the LED to light up. It seems really excessive.

I've tried two batteries out of the 3 they sent me. I still haven't charged the third one due to only having 2 chargers.

I switched the 901b battery out with my white 901 battery, and it hit nice and smooth w/ massive amounts of vapor.

Is there a sensor or trigger that's getting stuck? Any advice? Bad batteries?

D_Struct--This is a common issue encountered with some new batteries. The pressure switch has a membrane that needs to be worked on some new batteries before it loosens up. The opposite is also common where the battery keeps getting stuck on. Try drawing on the battery harder but not too hard and after about half a days use the membrane will loosen up and the draw will become easier. You can accelerate this process by sucking in about 10 to 15 times directly on the battery hole. The membrane will loosen up and they should be good to go. If not--consider them DOA's and return them, but I have to date not had to return one battery with this issue as they usually break themselves in--Hope that helps--Sun:)

You're officially the MAN. I've a 401 battery that I've complained about, since day 1, which needs a draw akin to sucking a bowling ball through a bendy-straw.

I just did the "suck directly on the hole" thing a few times and the difference is dramatic. I'm going to keep it up a few more times (or until I can't stand getting shocked any more) and the thing should be tip-top.

You're officially the MAN. I've a 401 battery that I've complained about, since day 1, which needs a draw akin to sucking a bowling ball through a bendy-straw.

I just did the "suck directly on the hole" thing a few times and the difference is dramatic. I'm going to keep it up a few more times (or until I can't stand getting shocked any more) and the thing should be tip-top.

Terraphon--Glad I could help--with regard to your post could you shed some light on these new electronic swithes you mentioned your post above--Are you finding this to be an issue that is managable with the 401 or is this something that you would consider a concern-- Never knowing when the batteries are going to fire up (heating up atomizer, lose of battery life, etc.) Is this something that that we can just dismiss as unremarkable?--Thanks for your input in on this issue--Sun:)

I actually consider it somewhat of a problem in the design...definitely a concern.

I have been driving down the street, grabbed my evo and had the atomizer be VERY hot in my hand and, on more than one occasion saw it light up so hot that it was glowing red through the mouthpiece...That was before I learned about the music thing.

Yes, it's manageable but it is a bit of a pain in the ..... I've been thinking about getting a switch activated cig for car use and keeping my evos broken down whilst in the car to stop them blowing out my atomizers while I drive / listen to music. Fortunately, I'm only on the road ~20 mins each way to work so it's not a HUGE issue but it certainly could be for some.

Also, my intellicig batteries are SO sensitive that I can blow on the tip (the led end) and light up the atomizer...and I don't even have to blow very hard to make it happen (less force than required to blow out a single birthday candle...IF it was 2 inches from your face).

On the good side, though, the pull on them is phenomenal. I've just had learn to change my habits a bit so as not to burn them up.

so im curious what the problem with the music in the car effecting the e-cig atomiser? is this with a actual stereo system with sub's or just somehow music effects it? lol thats completely all new to me.

I believe that heavy bass notes can turn an atomiser on in some cases.

i had to put it directly in front of my car speaker, and turn it up nearly all the way to set it off. i believe it may have been the air movement from the speaker and not the noise, since i had to hold it directly in front of the woofer. i am skeptical as to them being set off by sound. sound does provide air movement though.

I have the same problem with one of my 901 batteries. Try sucking on it like others have mentioned, if that doesn't loosen the switch then exchange it.

I still have that battery and was unable to return it. In order to get this thing to work properly, I take one quick draw, inhale some air then continue to my normal draw (Primer puff i guess). The first quick draw helps me pull the switch a bit. I would not be able to activate on one regular draw alone.

The other thing I do is, block the atomizer hole with my finger. I find this method works better for that battery.
