So, I saw this site before I ordered Blu, but didn't realize how much of it there was. It was one of the last ones I looked at and was wary because every other one seemed to be companies posing as users to advertise their product. When I saw the registration requirement I balked at this place and just ordered the dang things to see for myself.

I looked at a few other brands and decided this one would be simple and effective. The battery pack sealed the deal, plus I first saw them advertised at one of my favorite sites (starts with iso and ends with hunt lol).

So far, this thing is pretty damn badass. My first reaction was that they look slick and kind of sci-fi which is awesome. After the initial frustration, the learning curve plateaued and I started getting consistent vapor and buzz. I had to come up with ways to make it work better like removing the foil with a paperclip before installing the cartridge and when the thick vapor is gone, swinging the whole thing back and forth to get the solution to the atomizer. This last one I wasn't too worried about; it's like I traded flicking ash for centrifuging, lol. Overall I think the little inconveniences are hugely overshadowed by the benefits and the coolness.

I'm a singer and I can't believe the difference it's made in my vocal range. I also used to have coughing fits in the middle of my classes and I haven't had one since I switched. I started feeling healthier and that made me start working out and the whole thing snowballed.

I read a post a guy left here in response to ex-smokers becoming smoker haters. I love nicotine. I understand the reasons for smoking. I started smoking when I was depressed and felt like poisoning myself, then when I found how much calmer and clear headed I was when I smoked, I didn't want to stop. I think all smokers should try these things at least once. Non smokers too; in fact, my brother just came in here while I was writing this and asked me for a cigarette and he hates cigs. I switched it over to menthol and he was freaking out. I will never shun smokers, instead, I'll let them have a few puffs of this and we'll see how long they can deny the deliciousness.

I vap in my car a lot (which still smells musty from analogs, haven't done the cleaning spree yet) and I get weird looks from people when they see the blue LED and I have to chuckle. I'm the only one with an e-cig that I know, and these things are new enough that people have a hard time believing this thing is a cig. Then out comes the vapor and the jaw drops.

Here's a list of issues I've had with the Blu:
-The USB thumb drive charger will only charge the batteries when connected to a USB port. It's designed to work with the power cord too but it doesn't, instead when I connect it it makes a high pitched whirr and acts like it's charging, but never charges the battery.
-The batteries' life spans are slightly lower than when I first got them, but since Li-Ion isn't perfect, no biggie.
-Vanilla, cherry, and java flavors suck both in flavor and vapor. Mostly java. But the classic tobacco and menthol are the .....
-The foil sealing the carts has to be punctured before installing or it doesn't work as well, no biggie.
-Vapor/buzz slowly diminishes as the cart is used up. This is overcome by waving the cig a few times to get the solution into the atomizer, or rotating between nearly empty carts to let the solution diffuse into the front of the fiber.

Again, overall, the benefits outweigh the inconvenience.

I too first started out with a Blu and quickly learned that I needed more. I then went to a Modern Vapor sidesho kit as I liked the thought of the manual battery (hybrid comes with auto and manual) and the batteries were compatible with the L88b (blu). They had more power and lasted longer. The sidesho became my primary until I caught wind of the eGo / Tornado type...and that is where I ended up. I love my tornado and each person on here seems to have a personal preference which is awesome. There are many different brands / types out there and if you can hit the one that makes you happy on the first try....well then I'm jealous :) I spent too much finding the right one for me LOL! Good luck on your future Vaping!!!!

Oh, and might I recommend if you are using the Blu to try volcano ecigs...both companies are the L88B type device and Volcano has had great prices and customer service each and every time I've dealt with them. I bought a bunch of spare atty's and carts from them cause they ended up costing less...I think I got 10 x 5pk for just over 30 bucks shipped vs. blu's 25 for 5 x 5pk for 25 bucks!

I bought Blu when I first got into vaping as well, but this was before I did research and I know for a fact if I had found this website before I bought it I would have had a much better experience with my first vaping venture. Needless to say i did research after I bought Blu and they weren't satisfying AT ALL!! I looked into PVs after my research and decided the 5 volt PS Prodigy was for me, been loving vaping ever since...so good luck... and there is nothing wrong with Blu if it works for you, it just didn't work for me.

First off, hello all, this is my first post on the forums and I just started Vaping about 2 weeks ago.
I also bought the blu and am starting to figure things out to make the best of this e-cig. I totally agree that the stock carts leave much to be desired. I ordered a few sample liquids and decided to try filling my own. the liquids arrived today and all I can say is that it makes a marked improvement!
I surfed around the forums here to find out about refilling blu carts and found an OUTSTANDING way to do it that has made my blu come alive. I had the problem of only getting about 5 pulls on a cart before it felt empty. I could pull the cart apart and it was well at half full but just stopped vaping. the "mod" I found was plain stupid simple but it positively works wonders!
Simply pull the batting from the inner cart, clean and dry everything, fill the inner cup to just shy of full with your liquid of choice, maybe 2 drops shy closer to 1, then roll up the batting into a ball between your fingers and stuff it into the cart so it is flush with the top of the cart. this basically maked a plug above the liquid that is tight enough that the fluid won't run out. The batting wicks up the fluid as you put it in so there's no overflow and only a small bubble exists below the plug. I am getting right at 11 drops of fluid in my carts. The big difference now, I get about 50 pulls off this thing and each is like the first! Very consistant vapor and the taste stays the same the whole time. I smoke marlboro and tried doing a puff count on one to see how many drags I take on the old cancer sticks...bout 10 to 11, so one cart lasts me right about 5 smokes. At about the 35 mark, i notice the vapor drops so i give the thing the old thermometer wave and off it goes for the next 15 drags.
I have a 510 titan on order now cause i gotta try it but I can say that the blu has turned into a pleasent purchase.
Happy Vaping!

Definitely happy to see that you're enjoying your Blu. I actually found the advertisement for them on ISO assuming that it was a new type of analog, and this was actually what led me to start researching this product. Wallah! I found this forum, read reviews on the Joye 510, bought my e-cig, and essentially quit analogs. Thank you to my bad habit of illegally downloading music cause it's the reason I quit an unhealthy worse habit. lol

Are they entirely automatic or do they make a manual version?

I have a Blu also.... I am saving up for a 510 eventually(I'd like to try more since I love vaping now), but right now I am happy with my Blu. I've had it for about 3 months now and haven't had any problems at all, except for the carts did suck. Now I refill mine with the blue filter material and my one e juice that I have bought from various vendors. I see alot of people telling us that Blu is terrible and that we have made some kind of horrible mistake by purchasing it.....my opinion to them is whatever, dude. For $55.00 I got 2 atties, 2 batteries, 25 carts, a PCC and 2 chargers. I haven't had any problems with any of these items....plus....here is the best part.......I've gone from 1-1 1/2 packs of anaolgs per day to maybe 5, and that's just on a really bad day. So, for them to put down what kind of e cig you are using is beyond me. Enjoy your Blu if you do and if you don't, unless we ask....you know.........
Welcome to ECF.....

Cak10,

The Volcano is a blu by another branding, both are l88b models so short and simple answer YES u can use the volcano PT.

As for using it, the passthrough is basically your battery but hardwired to the usb so its a 5v constant power source. You will use your existing atomizer and cart you use now. just screw the atomizer into the passthrough and plug it in.

One note I can add, I bought the passthrough for the sideshow. again its a l88 model so works too, anyway, at 5v, i do go through more liquid and it vapes heavier due to the increased voltage on the atomizer. works very well though, just be understanding that you will see shorter cartridge life as a trade to the better vape.

I have a blu as well. It is my first cig and have had it about a week. I have a DSE 905 on the way right now and cant wait! I did a lot of research and decided it would be the best for my use. Plus it will last forever instead of charging the blu batteries all the time. For the moment I am dripping liquid from Tasty Vapor in the blu till it arrives. I cant wait to taste the difference in a PV. Happy Vaping!

Quick update before bed, I got my Titan 510 in the mail this morning and have been vaping exclusively on it all day. I am using 16mg Vapor Talk Tobacco and I am realy happy with this e-cig. I may up the nic on my next order but I will be reording this juice. I know taste is a matter of opinion but I think to me, this juice meets what I need to quit analogs and still have the smoking feel. The juice does not taste like my old cigs at all but it's a taste, I find, reminds me of how the analogs felt if that makes sence. There is a peppery fealing after taking a few drags and a noticable throat hit. not harsh but it is there and after about 10 to 11 drags, I feel like i have had a smoke. Not ran this through the blu yet but will tomarrow. I think I will be using the 510 as an at work cig. It does have better vapor production than the blu and since I only get 1 break at work, I want that 1 to count! One thing I did notice, I tried one of the flavors I love in my blu and it was washed out on the 510. I think I have read that the 510 atty is hotter and this causes it. so I am happy on both purchases. the 510 is the work horse that gets me off analogs and the blu is for the relaxation and enjoyable vaping of different flavors.

Last comment for the day, not OT but just have to post this. I just lit up a real cig to see if I missed anything all day and UUUGHHHH... My old fav tastes HORIBLE! I swear it tasted like bleach for a few drags then sorta just tasted like a mess of undescribable chemicals. I think I might be on the right track here...

Night all.

Thanks for the support all. It's true, sometimes the vapor on the Blu seems wanting, but its good for me in a way since I'm trying to cut back on everything. Keeping a low baseline of nicotine is what I'm going for. I used to smoke hookah nonstop so I think I'm impervious to nicotine headaches anyway ;) I'm going backpacking and mountain climbing all summer so I want my lungs to be in pristine condition, even if the only thing in there is propyline glycol. If I want to relax, I can always just stow the half empty and bust out a full one. I may try volcano at some point, but for now I'm content with my stock gadget. Liquid refills sound messy.

@cak10 - I agree, the look and compact style of the blu is great! It just looks like a high tech analog. It was a big reason I got it. I'm in school for a Master's or more in physical science, so I understand the need to keep up appearances. If people think you're smoking crack with your car charger it doesn't bode well for the reputation ;)
