The new blu PCB's have a wi-fi bluetooth feature that makes your Blu pack vibrate when you come within 50 feet of someone else with a Blu PCB in their pocket. Amazingly cool. This youtube ad actually says they will be integrating a cellphone app into their PCB soon that will allow you to upload your own unique readable profile to your PCB that people can read if they happen to notice you are nearby them.

lol uhh i think you guys are missing the point of the fact that these new PCBs will empower vaporers by allowing us to make friends and new connections in our immediate vaping community hopefully enabling the newer vaporers to share and learn from each other the new developments in the vape world such as newer mod technologies and carto/atty models, yeah?

Why does everything electronic have to use Facebook and Twitter?!? I do NOT want my PV to alert me to other vapers. I do a pretty good job of picking them out myself. I figure that I can create my own social network by actually socially networking with people the old school way. You know, face to face. I do not need my PV to do that for me.

@ Plumes.91 Honestly I think the blu wifi thing is more of a "cool", "everything else has wifi so buy this" kind of thing. I think if the idea was to get people to share new ways of vaping and such, I think blu would have more available than just the analog looking e cig.
I'm a total tech geek, but like a few others have said, I don't really need them telling people where I am in bar or stadium.

I think Blu should put a little more time and money into their flavors and less into tech. I tried a Blu disposable when I let my juice run out prematurely. It tasted like vaping burnt mud and it was supposed to be menthol. I get the concept of pushing the envelope but I think this just pushes a little too far for what an e-cig should do.

We need to make vaping about getting off the cancer sticks, not about increasing our "social" network.

Was watching reruns of Top Gear on BBC tonight and came across this commercial about 10 mins ago.

Stephen Dorff's Rise From the Ashes- Brought to you by blu Cigs - YouTube

I guess I'm happy but annoyed at the same time. Happy that maybe this is the way to get it out there. Annoyed because I know who bought out blu e cigs.

Mr.Titan

I've seen it twice on late night Comedy Central during the second showing of Daily Show. It is rather shocking to see an ecig commercial on TV, partly because they haven't advertised smoking in so long. THey really stress the vaper vs smoke aspect which I think is helpful. I hope their product doesn't turn off new people if that is all they ever try. It should definitely educate the masses what an electronic cigarette is and for the smoking nazis not to freak out about them.

I think having the commercials on TV is great. It will introduce vaping to people that don't even know it exists. It will also encourage certain people to go to their computers and Google vaping or electronic cigarette because they will want to learn more about it. By doing this they end up here or on some of the other vaping community sites which in turn helps our community grow.

I agree with all of you going against the facebook feature and I definitely agree that Blu needs to take a look at the rest of the vaping world because at this point in time, all theyve got is the dinky cig styles. With them having the financial ability to advertize on major networks I think they have a great ability to educate on things like new cartomizers, clearomizers, atomizers, rebuildables and tanks. Things like big battery mods and the like. But it is a free market and they want their own products to make them money. And it is working for them. Because the financial advisors of walgreens and walmart are probably taking sophisticated stock of just who exactly vapes and they are seeing that the cig style will appeal to more people at first. I thought it was really funny that the celebrity that they got to do 1 of the commericals for them actually says "they have some great flavors and I hear that more flavors will be coming out" I thought that was hilarious because hes a big celebrity and hes doing a commercial for blu e-cigs and he hasn't gone online to see that there are thousands of flavors and thousands of juice companies out?

My tinfoil hat tells me this may be a good way to track you:matrix:

A less paranoid theory, it could be a great way to meet chicks:smokie:

If I see a fellow vaper I don't mind talking with them. I like meeting new people, as long as their is respect involved. But some "dude" thinking of me a "chick" is not going to go over well.

I would scratch that off the nonexistent list of reasons to use the inefficient, overpriced Blu.

The only benefit to this to a real vaper, is buying this pack to find other people that are using Blu's. That way you can go up to them and introduce them to a PV that is actually decent.

Gee, now I wish I hadn't gotten rid of mine. lol.gif

Guys guys..... the wifi thing and vibrating pants pocket thing is odd enough. But I'm not sure you see my point of why I was upset with the commercial. Lorillard (makers of newport, true, kent, maverick etc) owns blucigs, so even though the idea of a commercial for vaping is great, and its certainly the way to get the vaping community out there... The people who will be buying these due to the commercial will still be contributing to the big cigarette companies. I hope the acquiring of e cig brands will not become a trend with the big cigarette companies.
I know as for myself, when I found that vaping could be direction I needed to quit smoking cigarettes, I almost wanted to stick it to the big cigarette companies. I thought HEY Phillip Morris! I can enjoy vaping, still getting nicotine but I'm not paying you $6.50 every time to eventually kill myself.

Again, I must disagree with you. The big tobacco companies owning these companies will only HELP our cause. It is the sin tax on the cigarettes driving up the price - the government and state taxes, the lawsuits....

If BT gets involved, they have the big bucks to fight BP and keep them around. It's big pharma companies with their FDA approved nic replacements like the patch, the gum and the pills that are going to get it banned or taxed like tobacco. We NEED big tobacco on our side, and the more that buy these little things and put them in TV commercials the more mainstream they become.

That is the ONLY thing that Blu has going for it, their ability to use big tobacco for our cause.
