New BVC coils burnt hit after awhile.

I just got a Cana DNA 30 an Anyvape Davide with a Kanger Airflow Control V3 and the new Aspire BVC at 1.8 ohms. I was vaping some 50/50 0nic juice and at first it was fantastic and I was and am still getting great vapor production. I started getting some burnt tasting hits though. I have been vaping at 12 watts the whole time with the airflow wide open. I don't think my coil should only last one day even if I am chain vaping and taking lung hits sometimes. What could I be doing wrong?

If you are getting a burnt taste (we call those "dry hits"), if usually means your wick cannot pull the eliquid fast enough to keep up with your battery. There are a couple of things you can do:

1. Dial down your wattage/voltage. This will vaporize the eliquid at a slower rate.
2. Decrease the airflow, if your tank has adjustable airflow. The decrease in airflow will increase vacuum inside the tank's atomizer, which should increase the flow of juice to the wick..
3. Take a sharp draw (or two) on your drip tip (without engaging your battery). This will pull more eliquid into the coil so that it will be available when you press the battery button and take a draw.

You will get the feel of this over time and develop a sense of how often you will need to do this to avoid "dry hits". The PG/VG ratio of your eliquid also comes into play, as VG is thicker than PG . If you use high VG try adding a few drops of distilled water to your tank to thin out the eliquid.

I think also read somewhere about needing to keep the tank at least 1/3 filled or I could have dry hits as well is that correct?

Yes this helps, because of the vacuum effect that is created in tanks, being 1/3 or more full helps them function better. It does mean.. when it comes time to empty a tank for cleaning.. you gotta "tough" it out through that last 1/3 though :D
