Thank you guys for advice and tips, the guys at the vape shop we're worthless to me. I have been taking light puffs and bumping up the watts every so often, I'm going kinda slow just to make sure I let it get soaked but the flavor has improved drastically. I'm only at 6.2 so I'm getting close to my sweet spot again. Thank you again!

Some follow up ?'s tho
-how long should these coils typically last? What can I do to improve the life of them?
-does anyone know about attaching (MODERATED) with my istick?

you're welcome! :)

I can only answer your first question. lol as i'm not familiar with ceramic heating chamber, I find nickel coils to last about 2/3 days before flavour gets a little "burned" tho. Proven as i have been using them before switching to rebuildables.

You're welcome.......... Just make sure that you do the same exact thing with each new coil you install.... Those coils have to be primed very good. Vape on sista!

I used to find that when I put in a fresh coil, I'd have to drop the wattage.
Then with usage, its like the wick wicks faster and I gradually increase the wattage.
By day 3 it was time to change the coil, and drop back down in wattage.

To improve the life of coils you can use unflavored; most of the gunk comes from flavoring.
To save money on coils you can get a rebuildable; nowadays you can get a kanger subtank mini which has the option for replaceable heads or rebuildable heads.

and we don't discuss those other stuff around here.

The life of the coil usually depends on the type of juice you're vaping and how much you vape. Sweeter juices and darker juices tend to gunk up your coils faster so they won't last as long. Personally, I like sweet flavors and I'm a chain vaper, always have my vape next to me ready to go. So my coils usually last a couple of weeks. I have friends who don't vape as often and their coils can last a month or more. Unfortunately, it's not a set time frame with all the variables involved.

Okay so after what happened yesterday I wasn't vaping as hard because the flavor still kinda seemed off. I charged it last night and I put my tank back on and lower the watts lower than normal and fire it a couple times and the burnt hits are back

Why is this happening to me? Should I just break down and get a sub?
I am a newbie to vaping and certainly no expert here. But I can tell you this much. I quit killing myself with commercial tobacco cigarettes just about a month ago. It was almost mandatory that I relied upon vaping to get through the "cold turkey" thing. Naturally, it took me a week or so to get my mod/setup dialed in. My point being, for what this is worth, YES I would recommend sub tanks and sub coils. The vaporizer that I have been using to kick cigarettes is a Kangertech Subox Mini. I have used two tanks with this mod. The 4.5 ml tank that came with the starter kit and then about 2 weeks into vaping, I switched to a Kangertech SubTank Plus which is a 7 ml jobber. In both of these tanks, I have always used Kanger's 0.5 ohm OCC coils and have not had one single problem. I have never even changed coils yet. I know this sounds rather odd, but this is the truth. Right now, I vape at 20 watts with the air flow wide open. Based on my experience here, I am, for sure, recommending sub ohm especially in the Kangertech line up. Opinions will vary, but this is my story. Good luck and thanks for reading > :D

Thanks again for all your replies and opinions! Unfortunately a don't have the money for a sub and won't for another 2 weeks. (Unpaid vacation) but will definitely get one when I do.

How can I fix this until I get enough money to buy a sub?

I have a dry herb attachment from another vape pen and thought I'd give it a go and set it to 3.7v and it worked so wonderfully so thanks for that advice
You are most welcome and have a nice day > :sneaky:

Why not? There are a lot of herbs with medical properties out there. I'd rather vape their essence than smoke them.

We do not discuss that here...period.
Please see the Forum Rules - thank you

and please folks...when you quote...make sure to clear that stuff out out your quote...really creates more work

Read them when I first joined and just now re-read them.

According to rule 34, an e cigarette is both smokeless and tobacco free. By that the discussion of NETs should not be allowed, since they could be construed as a tobacco product, yet I see discussions all over this forum.

Please explain to me why that topic is allowed but not the vaping of LEGAL herbal (tobacco free) smoking blends?

Rule 34 is a definition of an e-cigarette. NETs are a derivative of tobacco.

Other forms of harm reduction are allowed.

    Okay...
So talking about idiots who think vaping is the same as smoking because it looks the same, is okay.

But discussing the vaping of LEGAL herbal smoking blends, LEGALLY sold in the US (without a prescription even) is taboo because it is assumed we are really talking about something else.

I HATE being a pita, because I do enjoy this place, but you do see the irony, here, right?

This forum is about harm reduction.
